Every couple of minutes Firefox just freezes. YouTube buffers, all open tabs just stop working. I can open new tabs but i cannot search up anything or go into any websites. Is there any fix for this?

I find it a bit concerning that when receiving an email from Firefox about a new sign-in, Win 10 is given instead of Win 11. They should be able to tell which version I am running. Maybe this is Relay for Windows versions LOL.

Has anybody else found this issue?

I follow the instructions to pin an extension, but when I click on the jigsaw icon, I'm taken to the add-on manager page with the ability to review recommendations and manage the extensions and themes. There is no option to pin any extension. I saw this issue on an expired post to Mozilla but the answer was incorrect.

Any ideas? I can't access my password manager extension even though it's there....

Hello, I used to use FireFox consistently. Then I noticed a downgrade in performance. I checked Task Master and saw this FireFox with 45 entries. With few CPU entries, but over 3 Gigabytes of Memory usage. Why would that be, and what can I do to correct it and still be able to use FireFox?

This morning (08/28/25), I updated my browser to v142.0.1 (64-bit), and Facebook as well as other sites have been affected to the point that I can't even see contents now!!!!!!!

I (God forbid) opened the same sites in Edge, and there's no problem viewing them on Edge.

Is there a way that I can roll back this latest update, because I had no problems until this morning. I'm running a Win 10 Pro OS.

I'm sorry but this is garbage.

I see posts here from five years ago asking about this, and fixing this issue is a non-trivial process particularly for those not computer literate enough. It should literally just work out of the box with zero issues like EVERY OTHER BROWSER.

Crap like this is why I dumped this browser years ago, I guess I was right to do so.

I want to unsubscribe form emails from a company MyHeritage, but when I click the link the page opens then instantly greys out so I cannot do anything. This happens with another trusted web site as well

Moving Firefox over to a new computer, I know how to find the profiles via file manager- that is not my problem. I am not sure which to move, Local or Roaming. I am thinking Roaming as that has all my bookmarks and passwords. I have moved individual files from Roaming and do have bookmarks and passwords working on new computer.

But I was thinking it would be best to move the whole thing so I got the tabs that should be used on startup and maybe more I don't know. So I don't know if I should copy both over or just one. I did try both once and Firefox said it couldn't find profile (I renamed the old ones).

Thinking I may need to use about:profiles and select new one. Not sure what will happen, hope it lets me point to new file on my USB drive. Looks like I should use both local and roaming, but don't know? Local might be something that relates to hardware on computer.

Hope this makes sense?

To give a bit more detail:

On my Dell Precision 7540 laptop:

When using the Bing search engine vertical scrolling with the mouse wheel does not work in Bings 'search results list' unless the mouse pointer is over the vertical scroll bar when scrolling behaves correctly.

If one of the results in the 'search list' is selected, and the resultant site displayed, then vertical scrolling with the mouse wheel works correctly, exactly as expected.

This failure of vertical scrolling occurs only with Bing. Using other search engines vertical scrolling works correctly without problems. I am 99% sure that this erroneous behaviour is new.

On my Dell Latitude 6540 laptop: No scrolling problems. Everything works as it should.

The above leads me to believe that my scrolling problem is some kind of ‘settings’ issue. I have therefore thoroughly examined all ‘settings’ in both Bing and Firefox, including about:config, but alas without finding any solution.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might cause this issue and how it may be resolved? Thanking you all for your excellent service.

German language pack not available :( manually downloaded verisons of german Language pack are incompatible.

I installed Firefox on a fresh Win 11 install, and most of the the favicons are still generic on the Home Page several days later. Facebook, Ebay and Youtube are the only ones that appear consistently, sometimes other will display, but then be gone again the next time the app is launched. All other links just have the generic letter icons.

I tried deleting the 3 favicon files in the Profiles folder, but it did nothing. I've tried manually re-adding the links, still nothing. I removed the "S" from "https;//" and still nothing. The favicons all show up on my other machines which use Firefox on the same user account, so it is not a problem with the websites themselves.

Not sure if its related, but upon installing Firefox on this machine, it made Firefox on my Mac desktop absolutely freak out. I had to make a significant number of changes over the course of hours to fix everything, so many relating to favicons alone that I don't know what actually fixed it.

What else can I do to try and get these working? Why does Firefox apparently struggle with this particular feature across multiple OSes?

When I swipe to the left, Firefox navigates Back & when I swipe to the right, Firefox navigates Forwards. It is VERY ANNOYING!!!! It's really easy to do this accidentally while scrolling around a large web page. When you go back, it deletes all data that was filled out on the web form causing DOUBLE the work. How do I turn it off please? Win 10, FF 142.0.1 64-Bit

I asked this question before and in response to a request upload the crash reports. But have heard nothing since. This is now happening daily. PLEASE, Mozilla, help me (and NBTW I make reg gifts in response to your appeals).

Environment: Windows 10 x64 (22H2) Browser: Firefox v142.0.1 x64 Precondition: Master password set when opening the browser

The user gets full access to the browser (except for access to passwords) when they click cancel password entry. Or close the modal password entry window.

Why is full access to websites and bookmarks granted? An outsider can easily access the browser where you are logged into your email, as well as gain access to your Firefox account management.

I really hoped that without entering a password, no open tabs would load and access to the entire browser would not be granted.

When the master password will actually start working?

I want to hide the "Search with Google" option from the right-hand menu in Firefox. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me if there's a way to do this. I previously came across an article on how to hide Firefox using userchrome.css, but I can't find it anywhere. I don't use "Search with Google," so I want to hide it. Every since I updated my MacBook Pro M1 Max chip to Firefox 142.0.1 (aarch64), Firefox locks up & has to be "Force Quit" & restarted almost every day. Please update the app ASAP so I don't have to convert to Google Chrome. Thank you!

Getting ready to replace my computer. Is there a way to take my Firefox bookmarks and passwords along with me. I know there are 2 profiles in different directories.

c:\users\jer\appdata\roaming\mozilla\firefox\profiles AND c:\users\jer\appdata\local\mozilla\firefox\profiles

Don't really know difference between roaming and local, except roaming is a lot bigger.

I doubt I could copy the whole profiles as they would contain information that is about current computer and wouldn't work on new computer. However, it seems that I have read or seen there are files within these profiles that just contain my bookmarks and passwords and they can be moved to another profile.

I just need to know the name of the files that hold his information.

Any help would be appreciated.

i just want to be able to add drag space to the top of my browser so i can move the window easily while it's maximized. i have been unable to find the customization section of firefox options and there is also no place on this website to speak to an actual member of support staff. this should be simple

Ever since upgrading to Windows 11, my Firefox installation has occasionally been unable to resolve domain names of some websites. Example domains:

• apps.powerapps.com
• static.cdninstagram.com
• google.com

As I was trying to debug this, I discovered that the DNS resolution and connection timings are just over 30 seconds (see the attached image). This is highly unusual.

• The issue does not occur with other web browsers on my computer (i.e., Microsoft Edge).
• The issue has persisted across reboots.
• I have already reinstalled Firefox (and wiped the temp files and appdata profile before installing again).
• The issue does not occur with other devices on my home network.
• DNS over HTTPS has been manually disabled.
• Changing DNS resolvers in my Windows settings does not fix the issue.
• The issue is still present with a fresh, unmodified installation of Firefox.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I love Firefox and do not want to switch to a different browser.
