Hi guys, I use many folders to organize my bookmarks, and it'd be easier for me to find the folders I need using the search option, but the search results show only tabs. Are there ways the search result will show folders too, along with tabs?

Thank you very much!

Next I expand "other bookmarks" then "choose" See 2nd screen capture

When I click on "choose" see what happens in the 3rd screen capture.

I can choose the sub folder to save the bookmark to. BUT I now CAN'T scroll down the screen to hit the save button. Because the bookmark window doesn't have a scroll bar or a way to make the bookmark window smaller. This is frustrating. Firefox is having other issues not connected with this issue. But the overall picture is getting me to the point of dumping Firefox and going to Google Chrome.

Sorry to be a pain but I am still having problems with the "Autofill logins and passwords" setting. Yesterday I had two replies but one was way over my old head. I got so far but then I was at a loss as to which files it would be safe to try and delete so I didn't delete any. The other reply was easier to understand but alas it also didn't work. I tick the "ask to save logins and passwords" and the "Autofill logins and passwords" boxes and after I do this all works fine. However if I leave my Firefox browser for any reason and then re-login to Firefox these settings, along with "Remember History" have all been deleted so that I then have to tick and alter these settings again. Now for the other strange part Firefox on my android phone is synced with my desktop Firefox and I don't have any problems, all logins and passwords work fine. I have up to date Windows 10, Firefox version 81 and the latest TREND maximum anti-virus protection. I have tried exiting TREND and doing a restart of Firefox with add-ons disabled and that makes no difference. Finally I even uninstalled Firefox and managed to install an earlier version and that didn't solve the snag either so I have updated to the latest version again.

I updated a sound file on a web server I have access to. When I reloaded a page with a player to play that file, the old sound file still is the one presented by the browser.

Go into Preferences, Privacy, manage data, select the domain involved, delete all the data. Reload the page again. Old sound file still is the one presented by the browser.

Reload again, this time using CMD-R, the hard reload key combo for MacOS. Old sound file still is the one presented by the browser.

Delete sound file from webserver, CMD-R. Old sound file still is the one presented by the browser.

Click play button. Old sound file plays.

Right click on sound control, select Save Audio As... Saving file to my computer appears to happen. However, the file saved is only 281 bytes. When I try playing it, audio player yells at me and says that is not a sound file.

Reload the page in another browser, it reports sound file missing.

Sound from old file still plays in FireFox.

First, I went into settings and deleted the data for the domain where this sound comes from.

Reloaded the page,

All I really want is to get firefox to play the new sound file, but its belief in the old file won't let it see the new one. Firefox has stashed the old sound file somewhere on my system and it keeps insisting that is the file I should have.

Well, there is one other thing I want. I would like acknowledgement that this is a bitchable situation. I hate it that tech world always says every problem is my fault. Maybe if the techworld would stop blaming users for problems they might start figuring out how to handle the news they filter more honestly as well.

Lately I've been having trouble with keeping deleted bookmarks and folders in my bookmarks toolbar from reappearing. The folders in particular have been persistently returning just a minute or two after deleting them. It's also quite noticeable when they come back as I have the 'show bookmarks toolbar' option enabled by default. I've restarted my firefox browser, uninstalled+reinstalled and refreshed and the problem continues to happen. Before trying those methods I tried clearing cache and cookies in settings with no luck either. From what I've noticed it appears to be just a certain set of bookmarks folders which I don't even recall ever adding to the toolbar; some of them look like they are from other device bookmarks I added after syncing. The rest of my bookmarks library seem to working fine however. I looked over the Firefox support articles on the subject as well but couldn't find a fix. Does anyone know something else I could try?

Any help with resolving this annoying occurence would be much appreciated!

I am a Linux user. So I have a folder called .moziila. Firefox use this folder to save settings and so on. If you are a Windows user you also have this folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla.

So I have a folder (Linux) /home/name/.mozilla/firefox/rt7gtt8p.default/ (I will call it System Folder later)

If I would be a Windows user I would have this folder here: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default (I will call it System Folder later)

But I want to have a folder called "sessionstore-backups" in System Folder. I had it and I want enable it folder again.

How can I enable "sessionstore-backups" in System Folder? My goal is to have a file called recovery.jsonlz4. Without this folder Firefox will not create recovery.jsonlz4 for me. So I don't have a folder "sessionstore-backups" and I don't have a file called "recovery.jsonlz4" but I want to have it, but how? Maybe I need to add something to about:config?

Mozilla Firefox update display

I am using the older version of Mozilla Firefox and do not want to download a new version at the moment. Up to now the Firefox settings offered the choice to 1. " Install updates automatically (recommended)", 2. "check for updates, but ask before installation", and 3. "do not check for updates".

Currently, the third option "do not check for updates" is no longer displayed in the Firefox browser window, and each time Firefox is opened, an update display opens in the upper right corner, which does not close automatically, and it is necessary to close this update display manually.

It should be up to me as a Firefox user to decide if and when I want to update Firefox. It should also be possible to choose whether or not the update display should continue to be shown when Firefox is opened.

I have a custom add-on that I'm working on for my team. It's hosted internally on a server signed by our company's internal CA. The add-on is signed by Mozilla, but not hosted on AMO.

I am on the latest version of Fedora running Firefox 81.0. In the browser console I get this error relating to the URL for the addon when I tell Firefox to check for updates: "Certificate issuer is not built-in".

I have the company CA installed and when I navigate to the site in the browser, Firefox recognizes the cert. I've done some reading on the subject and seen several threads about it. I've tried a few things already, but most of the threads where a couple of years old.

I'm asking the question here hoping to figure out what the current state of the problem is and which settings I should tweak to have it trust the company CA or what my options are.

Thank you in advance for any support on the issue.

I have created a web page with a number of edit boxes - the last of which is for entering a password. There is no edit box for a username - (not required!). The Firefox Lockwise function is a bit too clever in that it sees the word 'Password' in the label for the last edit box and concludes (wrongly) that the preceding edit box is a username and prompts to select from a list of pre-saved usernames. I do not want to disable the Lockwise function globally. However I do want to prevent it from prompting for a username on my web page - not only for me but for everyone else viewing my web page. Is there something I can add to the HTML or php code which will fix the problem?

Automate Browser actions: I am an individual. I am an end user. Looking for turnkey software that I could use to automate web tasks like log into a website and do things for example log into okcupid the dating website and open my likes and click the x on any with the country = Russia, as I can’t filter on country and get bombarded with likes from Russia. For example.

I would do it to train it then it would keep going. Little coding. thanks! This is one thing that could make Firefox really powerful, as many websites are too lazy to put in features that should be there.. as in my example.

I just started using Firefox on iMac (10.15.6), and the media control keyboard shortcuts are not working at all. I found information that space bar is to play and stop, and arrows for rewind and fast forward, but none of them works. The play/rewind/fast forward/ keys on iMac seem to work only on safari or Music App. Can someone tell me what may be the problem or what are the correct keyboard shortcuts in control video streaming?

Thank you.

I re-installed Firefox to begin using it as my main Web Browser and the icon in the taskbar is a white sheet of paper and I'd like the Fox icon. It took me a while to configure Firefox with all my imported bookmarks, etc. so I'd like to find a fix without deleting and re-installing the software. Was thinking/hoping the icon could be copied/placed in the root directory of the software?

Hi all,

Currently on the latest beta on macOS Big Sur v11 beta (20A5364e).

Crashing of tabs has at least been resolved since previous versions but I am having an endless usability issue. I can have 2-5+ tabs open and clicking on the tab itself appears dead/unresponsive. Clicking a few more times (in different areas of the tab) or selecting another tab then switching back results in the tab being selected/usable/active again.

I am unable to find any common way to replicate this or reason for it - the sites in the tabs are always very much different. It's not the web site that becomes unresponsive as even when opening multiple 'new' tabs, the same issue can occur without even loading a site.

Detailed version info included.

I am using FF56 and still not prepared to upgrade to post 56. Until recently I would see embedded videos and pictures in some forums, which now appear grey or the post seems to have a big gap to the end. If I click on the grey area, the picture will appear when I click on it.

I have contacted the sites and they blame FF stating, that no new algorithms are in use.

Does anyone know why this may have happened and how I can fix this?
