Hello, I have searched for an answer to this and didn't find one so I am posting. If this has been answered, kindly post the link to the solution :)

The problem is with Firefox screenshots. Full page shots are working fine, but "Save Visible" and custom selections using the outlining tool are scaling at 71% instead of 100%. So, I'm only getting some of what I want.

How do I fix this? I didn't see anything in config about this.

I've been trying to find a way to disabled downloading in Firefox all together. The reason for this is per my organization's requests. As they do not want users downloading anything what so ever.

I've found extensions that can do this, however since I'm tweaking a profile in which is shared amongst all users. Its not the best solution since I have to manually check the add-ons on every time I make a new user profile.

Is there by any chance a means for me to disable downloading as a whole within either userChrome.css or about:config?

Any help again is greatly appreciated.

Firefox 86 has introduced a new print preview panel which I like. What I don't like though is that the unit for print margins has changed from millimeter to inch (see screenshot, in German). In previous versions, it was possible to set the unit in the prefs by changing "print.printer_PostScript/default.print_paper_size_unit". Value 0 meant imperial units, value 1 meant metric units. This entry does no longer exist.

There is still the entry "print.printer_printername.print_paper_size_unit" for every printer that's installed. Those values are all set to 1 in my case but this doesn't seem to have any effect.

So how can I set the margins of printed pages in millimeters instead of inches?

I am not able to figure out on how to open the respective add-ons User Interface.

• I have installed some add-ons like 'HTTPS Everywhere' , 'Nord vpn' etc...
• When I visit the add-ons tab in the menu section on the upper right section of Firefox, it does not show on how to run it or open it.
• I have been searching this on the internet but couldn't find any information...

Whenever I do an internet search on Firefox, clicking a link will open it in a new tab. This annoys me as I soon get multiple tabs open that i need to go and close. How can I change this so clicking a link opens it in the same tab?

An Evernote contact spent an hour with me and took over my computer with my permission. She could not fix the problem. She said that I would have to create another Firefox Profile. The one I have is broken or corrupted. Here's a note from our session:

Here are the steps to create a new Firefox profile, if you would like to give that a try:

1) Open Firefox profiles page (copy and paste about:profiles to the URL address bar). 2) Find a profile with a label "This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted" and remember it. 3) Create new profile with any name and location by default. 4) Set new profile as default profile: the image that evidently can't be copied and pasted here states: "Profile: TEST NEW PROFILE, Default Profile yes" 5) Restart Firefox. 6) Install Evernote Clipper 7) Click on Web Clipper icon and check if Clipper menu opens and article is clipped

If this procedure helps, the main reason is a corrupted initial Firefox profile (where the Clipper issue happens.) If this is the case, I recommend using the new profile you just created.

To return to the initial profile, set as default the profile from the step 2 and restart Firefox.

If this workaround doesn't resolve the issue, please contact Firefox support. I'm afraid I don't have more information about the Firefox profile setup on your Mac.

I did not try that. Thought I'd go to the Firefox experts first!

I'm having a trouble that seems to be frequent lately (see below a former discussion), and that is driving me nuts.

I've installed my dictionaries, verified the about.config marks, and still the right click for spell check and language choice has disappeared on my outlook 365 web.

Curiously, it works perfectly on Outlook 365 web on Chrome, and here in this text box on Firefox.

Would anyone have a clue how to fix it? (don't want to have to switch browser from Firefox)

Thank you for your replies all. I have worked it out. The language packs were installed but not "Unpacked" All OK now. Thanks cor-el cor-el

Language packs (strings for the user interface) do not need to be unpacked, but dictionaries always do need to be unpacked (they have an unpack property), so do not mix up these two.

I set process limit to 1. Firefox runs 5+. Pray tell what does setting the process limit do exactly? Also Firefox says it sets the process limit automatically to optimize system specs. I've installed FF on machines with specs ranging from low budget build to godbox yet it always defaults to 4 processes. Then runs more. Is it all BS? Do tell please? (Searched Support for these topics. Gave up after 10 pages. Appologies if they're redundant)

Ik print heel vaak. De laatste twee weken krijg ik geen "afdrukvoorbeeld" meer bij "bestand". Dat was zeer handig aangezien men dan een pagina kreeg van de betrokken webpagina die toeliet om ook de afdruk te vereenvoudigen (grootte tekst, weghalen vermelding datum, naam pagina, ...).

Hoe krijg ik dat terug ?

Hello, I have wanted to move from Chrome to Firefox for some time and I finally got to try it out today. Something that has bothered me since the beginning is that right clicking when the cursor hovers over text behaves differently than I'm used to.

This is the behavior I want:

1. User action: With the cursor over text.
2. User action: Right click / double click if in Mac
3. Browser action: The word that the cursor is hovering should be automatically selected and the appropriate actions (copy, select all, search…, etc.) should appear in the contextual menu.

Instead of those options in the contextual menu, the normal page options are appearing (Save Page As, View Page Source…).

Where do I change this behaviour?

Additionally, how can I make the contextual menu include the «Look Up "foo"» option as it does in Chrome (Mac)?

PS: check the names of the images; basically: Chrome; Firefox-what-I-get; Firefox-what-I-want

I accidentally lost the recommended articles which can be saved to pocket (optional). There should be a checkbox that asks: ARE YOU SURE ? There must be an EASY way to get the articles back. While I'm here I'd like to say that a lot of the help files or comments don't have any pictures. A picture IS worth a thousand words so it would be nice to have more of that. Someone could ask you what someone else looked like and you could sit there and type a long time or (so much faster) show them a picture if you have one, right ? Let's go a step further and use a dismantled car engine. Even more complex. Are you starting to get it ?  :-)

I sought without answer to see how to PREVENT restoring previous sessions, freezing my computer because FF did not clear previous sessions, internet access freezing when social media sites weren't cleared, as they used to be. And then, reading the solution on, how to access restoresession options, I come upon about:config and search browser.session I see the problem. Instead of setting options to clear previous history, FF now has uncountable options which - hide browsers I've deletes, like Bing - maintain restoring sessions up to 5, 10, 32 times, even though I've set the option to never - keep data I wanted deleted, in Top sites, in pocket, in other options - set Google as the default translator even though I've chosen not to use it I am seriously disappointed in Firefox and Mozilla. I have used it since I found it one- two ? decades ago because it WASN'T wired into the top-heavy, data-excessive, intrusive-spying behemoths of Google and Microsoft. Did Google buy you out, or something? I do notice that the wonderful creative-commons data options have been swallowed up by those icons of not-for-profit and community sharing, google-android, every for-profit phone companies (ATT, Verizon,etc.) How sad and ironic. I found my solution was, select 0 for many, many browser.?? options and deleting the history I found in various switches. Posting this to share my disillusion.

I was wondering if their was a way to switch the find bar bar back to the old way of searching. The way it is now is annoying. When I use find it's usually the same search across multiple tabs. Now I have to open the find in each tab and if I change the find in one tab it doesn't change across the other find bars so I now have to change each individually. Thanks.

setting defaults for the browser, no matter how many times I try to set my preferences they change back to the original ones. no I am not able to put in suggestions.
