I tried reinstalling Firefox and it resolved the issue then shortly afterwards the problem popped up again. Reinstalling a 2nd time didn't fix the problem. Resetting Firefox didn't fix it either.

When clicking 'Sync Now', is this an upload or a download from the PC ?
If a download then how do you do an upload of changes and if a download how do you do an upload of changes from either PC.
I am totally confused how it works please explain as my two PC's only seem to have been synced once after the first time I joined them with the code !

I haven't used firefox since the update before this broke everything, I updated a few days ago and found it worked great like it did before on a site that is rather flash heavy. yesterday I restarted my computer and ever since then firefox has resumed hanging to the point of crashing on that site (and several others I use) like it did before.
I've already checked all my add-ons, extensions and theme, I checked to make sure all things that could possibly affect that are up to date, I've read everything I could find on here but they never help for more then a few minutes. I really REALLY like using firefox and hate the idea of having to use chrome again, help please? :(

Hello. Here we go again with the same (very) old and (very) annoying story. Windows 7 somehow decides to freeze, forcing me to force shut down. And guess what? That's right. My Firefox session is gone..
What's that? Try to search sessionstore.bak to see if it stored the previous session before it was gone? Ok that'll work. Except that sessionstore.bak even if it has the correct time and it's 2.30 MB it contains nothing more but many many empty spaces.
Tried restoring previous file version method, didn't work. (I probably had this function disabled). Tried Recuva program to restore deleted files, found the correct one (.js) only to be the same with the current (containing spaces). Found another almost 2 weeks old (.js), 3.02 MB, contains weird characters and a list of registry keys that are uncompleted(?). Tried copying the contents of that file to that site "herokuapp" ("When All Else Has Failed" - Why this should not), didn't work probably because there aren't any valid tab websites in there.
So here's a suggestion to Firefox developers and those who are involved with it: The .bak file was a good idea. It stores the previous session when something goes horribly wrong. But what if that file gets corrupted or accidentally replaced? You should add an alternative backup method. Another file that will store the session ONCE at the beginning of EACH new day, even if Firefox had not been shut down. Also add a friendly option to access this file through Firefox from its menu. That will save a lot of headaches, a lot of time and more. I am sure this wouldn't be hard for you. And please do not rely on third-party add-ons for this, it should be an official working function. TABS = FIREFOX, keep the tradition, keep it good.
So, is there really another way of accessing my lost tabs (or websites) without these files? I mean except from going through hell (History), which is considered my only option right now, and I don't even remember most of my tabs. What's even worse I don't keep the pages loaded to save memory avoiding Firefox crashes, Flash plugin crashes and extremely painful slow downs, when I don't quit Firefox for a few days. Unless I am missing something here.

I recently downloaded PowerISO and it changed my search engine to Bing. It did not install any program or plugin that I can plainly see. When I go to control panel and "Uninstall or change programs" I don't see a Bing, nor do I see a plug-in or extension on Firefox. I was able to change my homepage back to Google, but now Firefox always searches through Bing whenever I open a new tab.
So, my main tab works fine, but all my tabs automatically search through Bing. How do I fix this?

So I click on the link which takes me to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, do the install which goes without trouble.
But afterwards I get the same message when I try to play videos.
Running Windows 7 on a Desktop PC. Having NO problems playing videos in IE or Chrome. FF used to be great but it's becoming more trouble than it's worth.

Recently I have tried to purchase a few item using PayPal. PayPal have recently updated thier payment pages.When you get to the log in page for PayPal you get the option to choose alternative payment. Clicking on this link takes you to another page. The options for alternative payments are shown but clicking them ,nothing happens.The only thing you can do is go forward or back reverting to the default payment page. Ive tried the same websites using IE and with no problem. One site had the new PayPal format which worked so clearly this is a problem with Firefox.

Well, I've spent most of my day trying to figure out how to fix this. My power unexpectedly went out overnight and I left my computer on. When I woke up, i saw that the computer was off. So I started my computer, but when I went to get onto Firefox, none of my windows and tabs were there. (and I did have a ton of tabs open.) There wasn't even a "Restore Previous Session" icon to press on the Firefox homepage or a "Well, this is embarrassing" window. I tried opening "sessionstore.js" and "sessionstore.bak", but then a window came up titled "Windows Script Host" and said "Microsoft JScript Compilation Error." Then all there is to do is press "Ok". (By the way, at another time today when I tried opening a .js file, it said "Windows can't open this file" and it wanted me to choose the program I wanted to use to open the file, or use the internet to find a program. I chose Notepad, but then it was just a bunch of letters, words and symbols.)
I've also tried entering "about:sessionrestore" to get my windows and tabs back and then it says "Well, this is embarrassing." and "Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs." And there are no windows and tabs showing up below that sentence, with check marks, like it is when session restore has worked for me in the past. The only thing that worries me is that I did restart my computer between when I first started it this morning and now, when I'm writing this. I wanted to see if the "Restore Previous Session" icon would bring up my missing windows and tabs from before. But all it brought up automatically were the current windows and tabs that I have open right now. So now I'm wondering if I've permanently lost those tons of tabs that I had open before the power went out.
The other thing is that when I first got onto Firefox today, I could see all of my history from the days, weeks, and months past. Now I can only see today's history. I know I pressed something when I was trying to fix things but I don't remember what I pressed. Maybe that changed whether or not I could see the previous months' history. I did try "places.sqlite", "places.sqlite-shm" and "places.sqlite-wal" to restore my history, but again it said "Windows can't open this file" and it wanted me to choose a program to open the file. So again I chose Notepad, and it was just a bunch of letters, numbers, and symbols.

I know I had visited a couple of websites between the hours of 6:30pm or 6:45pm (EST) up to roughly an hour or two, and now (even though I had NOT chosen to delete even one (let alone hours of history entries) there is a chunk of mozilla history missing where I did not delete. I am seeking some assisstance finding the log of ALL of this browser's activity that day, especially a record of any alterations to browser's history. I know that I did not physically delete hours worth of activity and there must be some way of bringing this truth to light. Thank you for your time

Nous avons fait de même sur internet explorer et nous avions le même problème, mais nous avons réussi à le résoudre en ajoutant dans les paramètre d'affichage de compatibilité l'adresse du site interieur.gouv.fr et depuis nous avons de nouveau la possibilité d'imprimer les CPI avec internet explorer.
Comment peut-on faire sous firefox pour résoudre le problème. Bien entendu nous avons essayé tout ce que vous indiquez: coockies, cache, pop up, modifications des préférences dans Adobe... rien ne fonctionne.

Where can I download Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR 52) for Windows in order to continue using the Session Manager extension? It's extremely important and vital that I am able to restore my historical sessions and also save multiple sessions going forward.
When I try to download it, I can see it will be 60 version instead.
Unfortunately I mistakenly updated my ESR 52 version today without realizing I'd lose that extension. This is very frustrating, so to alleviate the issue, I'd just like to have the older version and stick with it. Thank you.
