I love Firefox, I use it on all my devices. And daily I access facebook.com on this browser, it's been working flawlessly - until yesterday. Yesterday, using Firefox (ver 130.0.1) on my Windows 10 PC, I tried accessing a FB page which I visit sometimes: https://www.facebook.com/OpenOscillator

Rather than reaching that page, I got a white screen with this error message: "Sorry, something went wrong." And since then, even visiting the Facebook home page (or any other FB page) has the same error message.

Today I tried the same thing on my Mac (OS 14.3), using Firefox and logging into facebook.com, which worked as usual. But when I went to https://www.facebook.com/OpenOscillator, I got the same error message: "Sorry, something went wrong." And as happened on my PC, now on my Mac I can't access any FB page on Firefox.

And just to mention, I've rebooted both the PC and the Mac, yet this problem persists on both devices.

Trying this same exercise on Edge on my PC does not have this problem. Nor does it happen when doing this on Safari on my Mac.

So, this problem has only been happening on Firefox. I can no longer access facebook.com with Firefox. Do you guys have any ideas how to solve this?

Helpful to know: Do you have the same outcome if you visit this FB page: https://www.facebook.com/OpenOscillator

Thanks for your assistance! Steven

I've noticed recently that some Unicode characters are not rendering properly on some websites. Specifically the Unicode characters for Mathematical Bold Capitals, though there may be others. I've noticed this issue on Twitch and GitHub. Screenshots for the repository sainnhe/everforest are attached along with the Inspector. Notice the characters do not appear properly on the webpage but are rendered just fine in Inspector. I also attached the screenshot for Unicode Mathematical Bold Capital E.

I am running Firefox version 132.0 on macOS Sequoia 15.0.1. The problem remains in Troubleshoot Mode. The problem does not appear in Chrome or Safari. The problem does not appear on my iPhone or Android tablet.

In posts with similar issues I've seen the suggestion to toggle "Allow pages to choose their own fonts", the issue does not respond to changing this setting (it is on in all the screenshots).

I thought I had solved this by adding the website to the "safe" list - I really cannot say how frustrating this is if I am being locked out of even safe sites. - This is a browser issue (I'm not that naive).

There is no real response from Moacilla(Firefox) here apart from throwing the Rulebbok at me and saying "Read!". I can only do so much Tune ups" and shut downs and ensure drives are functional. Please advise on the Browser Cache situation, rspecially as BBC iPlayer is added to the "Safe List" and yet still throws up the 400 Bad Gateway error message - an early reply would be useful.

From jscher2000 - Support Volunteer answering my previous question: His response to me: Hi, do you mean the sidebar that you can optionally open on the left side (Ctrl+B) or the Toolbar you can optionally open below the address bar (Ctrl+Shift+B)? In another thread, someone mentioned there is a new option for the sidebar to "collapse" which I guess means to close itself, but that isn't happening on mine yet. Perhaps it is an experimental option that is currently in testing. To roll back your sidebar to the classic behavior, you could try the following: (1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk. More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future. (2) In the search box in the page, type or paste sidebar.revamp and pause while the list is filtered (3) If the preference is set to true, double-click it (or click the Toggle button at the right end of the row) to switch the value from true to false Any difference?

CLARIFICATION OF MY QUESTION: I checked the way you said and the sidebar.revamp already says false. What I am talking about is as follows: In the windows 10 we had, and using Firefox, there was the complete My Bookmaks list on the left side, from top to bottom. Those not showing I could scroll down through them. It also had a search bar where I could search for a sepcific bookmark. (I have had 2 strokes and I cannot remember things if I can't see it as I do it.) NOW, however, with Windows 11, there is a "tab" I guess you call it on the left end of the ribbon. If I click on that, the My Bookmarks expands down (like it did look before) and I can scroll down if the one I am looking for is below the shown part of the list. HOWever, if I go to type anything outside of that list, it collapses back to the tab. It also does NOT have the search bar for the bookmarks at all. So if I cannot remember where the bookmark is located (I have 95 bookmarks) I have to scroll down through most of them to find it. What I want is for the entire bookmark list to REMAIN visible or on top when I am doing other things. Ialso would like to be able to search for a specific bookmark which would bring it right up.

This happened too much, like 6 times when using firefox in this month. I dont want to shut the program because I got unsaved notes in it. I was listening to music and it just began to play it non stop. and it dont respond.

please help, a million thanks!

I try to restart network or suspend the process nothing works. If I could make firefox reopen to it's original state+ cookies; no site reloaded and get back my incogico it would be much appreaciated.

I have just installed "Opera" browser which I thought would allow me to install an App called "Marine Traffic" onto my computer. It seemed to make changes to my default browser which is Firefox, so I re-installed Firefox. Now when I click on Firefox it comes up with a search bar but it is not the usual search bar but a largely blank screen with just a search bar in the middle. It does come up with an option at the top for another search session and when I click on that it is the normal Firefox browser screen. Can I get rid of this first strange blank screen with search bar? Mark
