I am currently on version 55.0.3 and have had the offer of an update to 56. I accepted the update, installed and restarted FF only to find that all the bookmark foders are grey [not yellow] and a piece of 'unwanted' software [something to do with screenshots] had an icon in the top right-hand corner. I note that doing a search for this problem on this forum, that in a post by WorriedFred on 9.28.17 @ 7.20pm, a post has been marked 'chosen solution'??? There is no solution - if there is where is it??? OR perhaps this is a new default colour style Mozilla have decided to use with this update - how inconsiderate not to mention this if it is so. And to add on a bit of software without permission is a disgrace.

If there has been an official response/explanation for this problem/bug could somebody please point me to it - I have run out of perming 56-bookmarks-grey-all-update in the search Mozilla bar. For the moment I have done a system restore back to 55 - nice yellow forders.

In prior versions of Firefox, the Properties Box used to include a large text "Description" box where I could put login information and other details for that bookmark. Now, in version 62.0, that text box no longer exists. Old bookmarks that I have no longer have this information either.

I used this text box extensively and Firefox was the one browser that had this box. Now it appears to have been removed. Can I get this Description box back? Or do I switch to a different browser?

Thanks, Macbel

Just updated and all of a sudden I have this obnoxious section in my bookmarks toolbar telling me what I recently bookmarked and an unnecessary folder titled "Other Bookmarks" which I can't delete. How do I get rid of them, and who in their right mind thinks that adding more clutter that can't easily be removed is a good idea?

There is right now literally no obvious way to bookmark a page. This is a serious flaw in the browser.

The Forum instructions say to restore it from "Customize." But it's not there, just the bookmark menu button, which does not allow you to bookmark a page. It then says restore defaults. That doesn't restore the star either. Does anyone know how to get it back once it's gone? It should not be so difficult that I can't figure it out.

I realize this probably isn't a Firefox issue but I need a second opinion on the subject. My computer keeps getting slower and slower. I had the machine rebuilt last March and everything worked fine. But as time goes by the machine just keeps getting slower. I was told by several sources, all the Windows and Microsoft updates are the cause. Is it possible someone here at Firefox has an opinion on the subject? Are in fact all the Windows update's causing my computer to run more slowly? I would appreciate any input. Thank you.

Im trying to sync my desktop with a new laptop. Have followed instructions and entered 12 digits where requested having signed up for an account in advance.

After adding the 12 digits neither of them shows any sign of syncing. the next page asks for account details plus a Recovery Key. I've not found a Recovery Key and have spent some time looking at Support pages. The Sync tab on both shows pairing and syncing click-ons only - no manage account etc as indicated in support info.

be very grateful for somebody to talk me through this in a simple way. Many thanks in advance

Last night I spent over an hour trying to recover 'Bookmark this page' because I thought my computer had gliched ! First of all, if you are going to change stuff like Bookmarks why on Earth don't you tell us so that we don't have to spend hours trying to figure out where stuff has gone or what has happened ?

Eventually I realised that 'Bookmark this page' had gone because you have changed it, although God knows why? 'Bookmark this page' was simple, effective, efficient and easy to use, you have replaced it with a pathetic blue star that makes life complicated, means I cannot easily bookmark a page and makes me jump through unnecessary hoops to try and bookmark a page in a particular folder. In fact I can no longer bookmark a page into a chosen folder because I cannot figure out how to do it !? It's enough to make me change to IE.

Just exactly what is the point of having a bookmark system (blue star) that puts bookmarks into 'unsorted bookmarks' ?? Why choose that over a simple effective and rational system with a button that simply says 'Bookmark this page'??? I just don't get it? Why make life so complicated and change something that worked well ?

Is there any way I can get 'Bookmark this page' back into my Bookmarks Menu PLEASE ?

Thank you.

This is a new feature that has just appeared, but I don't need it (it's indicated in a red box in the attached screenshot). However, it takes up space on the bookmarks pop-up window. I suppose it's a sign that I need to clean and organize my bookmarks, but I still would prefer to turn it off so it doesn't appear in the pop-up. I'm using Firefox 49.0b1 on a 2013 MacBookPro running OS 10.10.5 Thanks!
