We have enabled the "Prevent changing proxy settings" policy from the Group Policy Management Console. However, we've encountered an issue where Firefox browser overrides this policy. It has come to our attention that Firefox is the only browser that allows users to change the default Windows proxy settings directly from the browser itself.

To address this, we want to prevent users from changing proxy settings via Firefox browser as well. Could you please provide guidance on how to disable this feature?

The solution given by cor-el works very well.

Thanks cor-el ! I needed that.

But you won't know it until you access more unique folders than you already have in the list.

For instance, when you access the 8th folder that is different it will be sticky, when you access a 9th that is different it will be sticky. Kind of like a "most recently used" list. You won't see the extras until they happen.

Solution given by Cor-el: There is a pref on the about:config page that defaults to 7 to set the number of entries to show in this list of recently used folders.

- about:config => browser.bookmarks.editDialog.maxRecentFolders = 7

My home screen and all other browsing screens are so high and wide that I can't scroll down because the side slide bar is not on the screen. I have no idea how this happened! I can't find any articles that help me reduce the screen size that I can understand. There seems to be no solution option in firefox settings to adjust the screen size. The View tab does not help because it just offers zooming of the data on the screen, not the actual size of the screen.

Having used Thunderbird for some time, I installed it on a new PC, and found that virtually all my emails on a particular account seem to have been deleted, despite the app being set up to retain them. I checked on the webmail (BT) and they have gone. The account is set up as IMAP - as is another account on the same server, which seems OK. BT won't engage with me on this as they "don't support third party apps" I assume that 3 years worth of important client history is gone for ever? Can anyone suggest what I did wrong, or is this a software failure?

Hi!

This is an old question, but now over the time i can be more specific with this problem. What i know now in windows 10: - with firefox ESR sandboxie works fine all the time (now I use v 115.8.0); - with current firefox (v123) what happens is, after install current version, every time i open firefox, it works fine, but if i select "pause forcing programs", to change something in firefox, this means open firefox without sandboxie, now the first time i open firefox again sandboxie, it´s freeze, and can´t use for this moment now firefox sandboxie. Only works without sandboxie.

Thanks in advance.

After the latest update (117.0 64-bit) I now do not see the '+' sign in the tab bar. I have 40 tabs open (please, no negativity - it's always worked for me), but if I close all of the tabs it reappears. Re-open the original 42 tabs and it's gone again. Close them and it reappears, etc. Now for the fun bit: starting from scratch with a new window - the '+' is there, but open 20 more tabs and it goes.

Dear Firefox Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm Dr. Sobya owner of the sobya's skincare website. I'm seeking clarification on Firefox's password management security, considering the prevalent practice of users saving passwords for convenience. I'm keen to know if Firefox has robust measures in place to safeguard sensitive information, addressing potential risks similar to those raised about other browsers like Chrome. Given our skincare focus and the trust our users place in us, assuring the safety of their credentials is paramount. A detailed response on Firefox's security protocols would not only alleviate user concerns but also enhance trust and credibility for our platform. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your insights.

Best regards, Dr. Sobya
