Yesterday all of a sudden my webpages and UI appeared to be magnified. While I can zoom out on websites, I cannot find any option to adjust the size of the UI.

I noticed that Firefox 22 (which I am running) has a new feature: "Windows: Firefox now follows display scaling options to render text larger on high-res displays". Is it possible to adjust how Firefox responds to the display scaling options perhaps?

You really need to employ some graphic artists. This is the worst change I have seen in Firefox. The tabs should be BELOW the bookmark toolbar, right above the pages. That's where your eye most easily rests when you're looking for a tab. I looked at "solutions" but I'm not a freaking software engineer!! I just need to get the tabs back down where they were and can't find a solution. If I can't find one I guess I'll have to go back to Safari, which I don't like as well as I have liked Firefox all these years, but this change is just too much.

Also, it's not bad enough to put the tabs at the top (where your eye does not easily travel to!), but now the tabs are white type on a black background. Perhaps fine for 25-year-old eyes, but not for older eyes or visually challenged people in general. And if you have multiple tabs open, which many multitaskers do, you can only see a few letters. I could go on and on about how horrible this new change is, but please take some advice from a retired graphic designer. Black backgrounds with faint light type are not the way to go.

I got home, turned on the PC, loaded up Firefox, and ALL my addons are disabled and tossed into their 'legacy' pool of crap. No happy colorful theme, NO adblocker, no Ghostery... it even disabled my Bitdefender add-ons. Something is NOT right here. Anyone know what's going on? Firefox has NOT updated in at least a week or two, so I doubt it was an update breaking anything.

I was lissening to online radio. Firefox needed to update. After the latest update the windows media player plugin dissapeared from the add-on list, while still being installed correct. I reinstalled it, but that didn't work. I replaced/deleted some files in firefox as suggested for similiar problems, but that didn't work either. Now I can't play wmp files anymore on firefox.

I hope u can help me solve this problem.

Before I changed internet service providers, I could type my search queries into the url bar and receive search results from Google. After I switched ISPs, my queries typed into the url bar are put into my new ISP's horrible search engine. How do I change it back?

I've already tried going to about:config and changing the value of the keyword.URL preference to "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=" but that didn't fix my problem.

New information since creation of the post:

My ISP is Optimum. I have opted out of DNS Assistance and still have seen no change.

When my search term is two words or more, I am directed to Google search results. If my search term is only one word, however, I am still directed to Optimum's search results.

There's a single tab and a plus sign next to it in 23. I thought we had the ability to turn that off.

While I'm here, I'll also say that for a while now it's been weird, opening a new window flashes open for a moment and then flips back to my original window. It makes multi window browsing difficult, sometimes.

Before you ask, no, I never use tabs. I detest tabs.

I recently removed the Stylish add-on from my browser. However I might have disabled it some time ago (I can't exactly recall) and I couldn't tell at the moment because I had just got the newest update.

Is there any file I can open to see a record/timeline or allow me to see what add-ons I disabled and when? Or anything else I could use?

Thanks.

My Firefox updated today and all of a sudden the color of all background tabs is black. I really dislike this, and I am finding it extremely difficult on my eyes. I did a search of help on how to fix this, and it suggested addons. I have no problem downloading addonns, but none of them are compatible with the most recent version of Firefox. Is there a way to change the black background of tabs so they're not so annoying? Thanks.

Updated to FF26 earlier today. I just now noticed that the download manager is different, rather, it is the new version that has been available for a while. I have been using the older toolkit that was available in earlier versions through about:config and enabling the toolkit option. That option is still checked as true but the toolkit remains the same (the newer version).

How can I revert to the older download toolkit without restoring to an earlier version?

For Firefox 64-bit Developer Edition 43.0a2 (2015-09-29) for Windows 7, 64-bit.

I just "upgraded" from Dev Edition 42 to 43 and now I can't get back the old-style search bar that I had in version 42.

■ I've read the existing articles about this and verified that about:config, browser.search.showOneOffButtons = false. I verified the setting and restarted, yet the "new style" search panel remains.

■ I tried changing the search bar's appearance via the Classic Theme Restorer addon. Interestingly, in that addon the Advanced --> Search Appearance option ("Unchecking this option removes the new search appearance...") does NOT appear in the list of choices in Dev Edition 43 but DOES appear in my non-Dev instance of Firefox 40. So obviously Dev Edition 43 has been modified (I won't say "updated") in some way that prevents the user from getting the Search bar they want.

Obviously Mozilla seems to have yet again unilaterally "improved" things by yet again denying the user control over yet another aspect of the browser that didn't need changing. Sigh...

Question above states it all. I reinstalled Yahoo toolbar. No help. I do have the Yahoo toolbar but all my customizing is gone on it. I can't right click on toolbar to add stuff. I made the mistake of updating to Fox 36 on three different computers. They are all the same now. Lost toolbar. Did not update friends computer and it is OK with showing all the customization on Yahoo toolbar. (35.0) I need to go back to Fox 35. After update to 36.0, there was another update but it didn't help. Thanks

With version 23 of Firefox the preference "Load Images Automatically" under the content tab is GONE. The only options that remain are Block Pop Up Windows, Fonts & Colors, and Languages.

I use this preference EXTENSIVELY and I have searched every corner of the preference panel in case it was moved and I cannot find it anywhere. Please do not tell me you got rid of this function.

In order to avoid updates at unexpected times, I have tried everything, from turning updates off in the options window to setting to false everything with the word update in it in the about:config, to uninstalling the Mozilla Maintenance service, but Firefox still surprises me periodically with a pop up window that says Firefox or the computer need to be restarted to finish an upgrade.

How do I prevent it from updating automatically once and for all?
