Hello
I am currently using Ubuntu 18.04 and Firefox Quantum 59.0.2 64-bit. On some websites, I am unable to select the password field either using tab or a mouse click to be able to enter a password. This leaves me unable to login. However, this doesnt seem to happen on all password fields.
For example on https://reddit.com I can enter username and password on the field on the right. However, if I click on Login hyperlink on 'Want to join? Log in or sign up in seconds.', I get a popup which I am unable to click the password field on.
I have also seen this problem on https://abnzb.com
I have tried to run in safe-mode but the problem persists.
My addons are Gnome shell integration, Enhanced Steam, HTTPS Everywhere, uBlock origin.
Also, to add to this. When I right click on the password text fields, I do not get a menu popup. I am not sure if this is related or not.

on site polishburger.pl I have blank page. It becomes blank after it's loaded. I can click links - mouse cursor changes. Disabling hardware acceleration, safe mode, refreshing firefox, disabling tracking protection, disabling addons does not help - always page becomes blank as soon as it loads = less than 1s.
I've twice gotten a banner that says, "Want to try something new in Firefox?" and has a button labeled "get it now," and another button for "more info."
Is this legit, or is it malware? It happened once a day or two ago, and then again today. (I took a screenshot, but it is not uploading for some reason.)

Firefox Version 63.0 (64-bit) Home build PC, 480GB SSD, 2 x 2TB HD's, 8GB Ram.
I have had problems with streaming Channel 4 TV UK for many years. I could only get it to work on Windows. Recently I have Dumped Window 10 - so slow - updates take all day. I now am using Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (using Linux since 2009)
Channel 4 say they Do Not support Linux ?
I have tried to install Adobe Flash Player, but does not seam to work or download. On Ch 4 web page I pressed Allow, but say that I should install Flash Player !
Please could anyone advice me what I can do, or what I have done wrong.
Regards, Richard.

This is not a simple question to ask and is not very easy to explain. But I shall try.
I am running a program suite called "Node-Red" on another machine. Access is done via the "web". (http). Usually you just enter the IP address and you are into the edit screen. This is obviously not a good idea on a machine exposed to the net. So, you activate security settings. (See a bit later)
I am using Firefox as my main browser and I have activated security settings in Node-Red. Subsequently I can't log in. BUT! Other browsers can. (From other people) I have tried it and seen it once work. Sorry but that's all I have at this time. The information attached about my system is unedited, because as I said: I don't know what is needed at this stage.
I can get the "name" entered, but every time I click on the Password field, the cursor jumps back to the name field.
(Documents for what I am doing) https://nodered.org/docs/security.html
See attached image for what I see in FF. Please forgive the red arrows. I was talking to the Node-Red people about it also. "Luckily" someone else is having problems when using FireFox. But they can if they use another browser - as stated.
I don't know exactly what information (at this time) is needed. Alas it may require someone in here to install Node-Red and try it them selves.
I also appreciate that is a big ask. But it would seem I am not the only person with this problem and someone else has recently posted that they have the same problem.
What further complicated me asking here is I have a couple of other programs installed for password management and I had to go through the process of eliminating them.
So I am now at the point where it is pointing to FireFox and it not playing the game.
Thanks in advance for any help in resolving the problem.

Hi here!! I review a lot of mozilla docs (out dated or without complete info), forums, googling ... about how to share firefox/thunderbird/ligthing data between platforms on dual/multiple boot system. Every user in same trouble are repeating (copy/paste) in the solution to share the SAME FULL PROFILE on all platforms. I review profile data and folders and I can see files and config data that are platform dependent; then I think that share FULL PROFILE between is not the best approach, for example Linux and Windows will produce several problems (and a lot of problems with the add-ons) In these same mozilla docs recommends to share only data and maintain custom profile for each platform, but not more info how to do it. Please can some kind advanced :) provide some info about the correct approach. Or a better tech info about how is possible the recommendation of sharing same profile between platforms without problems. Because with the current doc info, there is no way to get a clear answer (Almost I can't :~). Thx guys!

Firefox 57.0.4 (64-bit) under Linux Mint 18.3 Prior to Jan 21, no problem encountered then on 21st Jan, get message "Your tab just crashed" while trying to reach "https://www.bonprix-wa.be/". The page is displayed and images are loaded. Keep loading then suddenly, it crashes. The same occured with "https://www.renaissancecss.com/?ref=webdesignernews.com". (First 'faulty' site has been accessed succesfully in the week prior to Jan 21) When those are the only two opened tabs, Firefox completely crashes (window disappears) Same occurs in Safe Mode and after Refresh. No crash report generated
Before somebody asks, I didn't change any settings of Firefox prior to troubles ...

Hi there,
This issue reports to a desktop computer with 8 CPUs and 24 Gb of RAM, which pretty much puts aside any resource constraints. Ever since Firefox was updated to version 49 the browsing experience has become increasingly difficult with a relevant lag on pretty much every task: . opening a new tab . loading/reloading a web page . scrolling down a web page . entering text (takes almost 1 second for a character to appear) . deleting text . using menus (e.g. takes about 1 second for the context menu highlight to move up/down to the next item) . great reduction in frame rate when playing videos (actually, I no longer play video on Firefox 49)
I have tried various things to stop the lagging: . restart Firefox . disable/uninstall extensions (now down to just 4) . disable/uninstall plugins (now down to just 3) . update plugins
But the lagging prevails.
I use pretty much the same web pages as I did with previous Firefox versions, but only with version 49 am I experience this lagging.
Thank you.

Hello Techies, First meet my system... Linux 32bits (Lubuntu), provided with: Lightspark, an SWF player, and all what Linux comes with.
Firefox ESR 52.4.0 (very old machine, its CPU doesn't have the SSE2 extension) provided with: HTTPS Everywhere, Ubuntu Modifications, YesScript OpenH264 Video Codec, Shockwave Flash, Widevine content Decryption module
I try to connect to a site, a radio station one, and Ff tells me a web page is slowing down the load process. Wait? Stop? Waiting is useless because the page never loads. Stopping leads to the site (simple http, without "s") but many parts of it do not respond. In other parts of the site Adobe Flash Player is mandatory to access the content. As you can imagine my system is not provided with Adobe and I guess this is why Ff warns me and can't access the site. I'm not installing Adobe, I don't even know if it is possible, and safe! How can I fix this? To me I should overstep Adobe, installing to the system something similar that the site can "like". Any suggestion? If you need it I can give the exact URL of the site. Many thanks for your educated answer!

When I try to open a file after download it in the Firefox downloads menu, it shows a pop-up that says the file is executable, although it is an image or a pdf, and if I click "ok", then nothing happens. I have already tried to delete mimetypes file and change default actions and no result. I also tried to create a new Firefox profile, but when I do that, the default applications option just show a couple of options, not even png or jpg, and if I try to open that files the problem is the same, it recognizes it as an executable file and can´t open. It just happens on my Linux partition, not on Windows. What could be the problem?.

Firefox 60.0.1 / Kubuntu / 64 bit
I was logged into a website. I then prepared a new thread. That took about 40 minutes. When I went to post the new thread, the website didn't allow me to post as it had logged me out.
The form data was gone. I attempted to view the post I had prepared, however as the connection was SSL, when I pressed 'back', nothing displayed.
I immediately took a backup of the ~/home/******/.mozilla folder
How do I recover / restore the form data please ?

By Problems I mean that the items in the drop down menus are invisible because the background and text are the same colour. I made no changes to the default installation prior to installing Quantum and had black text on a white background. In general I make no wanker changes to pretty up GUI interfaces for any software preferring to use the defaults as they come. But now after a year of use I am at my wits and and Unless I get a quick fix without a bunch of code base d gobbledegook I am going to dump Firefox and all other Mozilla related products. I spend a significant amount of my business computer use on the internet. and now I am at my wits ends.

When I right click, a left click is immediately fired which causes the first item to be selected. This is frustrating because the menu closes immediately.
Not sure what's going on. I tried downgrading Firefox and I tried a fresh profile. Nothing seemed to resolve this.
Initially I thought this was maybe a GTK3 issue, but I does not occur any other GTK3 application.

Hi everybody,
I just updated my Ubuntu Gnome and hence also Firefox to version 41.0. Now I cannot hear any sounds played via HTML5. Videos are played just fine, however.
I have already tried resetting Firefox, creating a new profile and even going back to 37 via apt-get install firefox=37.0+build2-0ubuntu1
None of this helped at all.
Because sound doesn't even work under 37.0 I do assume that the problem is rooted in some system update, but I still post this here and not the Ubuntu forums because this problem persists ONLY in Firefox playing HTML5 files (as far as I know). As soon as I force YouTube, for example, to use Flash everything is fine (except that it is using flash :D).
As I am not that confident with Linux yet I am not quite sure how to fix this. I don't even know how to best post some sort of debug-log or list of updated programs/files that came with the Ubuntu update. So any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance :)
