Hi,

i want to use the VPN on the laptop from my company which doensn`t allow the installation of new software. So i`m using FirefoxPortable for my private stuff. Is it possible to somehow just send the traffic from Firefox through the VPN, allowing all other stuff to go directly to the company network? I just want to hide my private stuff?

Thanks in advance!

This is from an Archived question. So I ask AGAIN

PREVIOUS QUESTION: "name redacted" 9/12/20, 8:12 AM

This seems fairly obvious but I can't find it anywhere. Mozilla VPN covers you no matter which browser you're using, correct? I use Firefox for most things but I still have to cast from Chrome and I want to make sure the VPN isn't Firefox-specific. Thanks! END PREVIOUS QUESTION.

Please confirm you have Mozilla VPN installed on your device. If so, Mozilla VPN offers device-level protection. The Mozilla VPN can help you confirm the settings you have. If you have an active subscription, contact the Mozilla VPN team directly: Log into your account at https://accounts.firefox.com, click manage next to Subscriptions, and click support. END MODERATOR ANSWER.

NEW QUESTION: Can I use MSEdge, Chrome, Dragon, etc... Browsers with Mozilla VPN?

Specific question requiring specific answer PLEASE!

How do I know if the Mozilla VPN is on and working? I installed it and opened the app. I never got the statement the directions say will come up - "On first connection, the VPN will ask for admin permissions to make changes to your computer’s network settings" - never came up. The app shows it is on but how do I really know it is actually working - there is nothing shown on my Firefox browser that indicates I have a VPN working. I have a Macbook pro running Big Sur. Thanks

Does anyone know if there is a way to hide the dock icon for Mozilla VPN when running on macOS? Maybe a terminal command? Or do we need Mozilla to update the app to include this functionality?

Everything can be done from the menubar icon and dropdown, so there's no need for the app icon to clutter by dock and app switcher (⌘-tab)

NOTE : This is not referring to loading the application at startup of the operating system

I can't find a way to make Mozilla VPN software automatically switch to ON when the application starts, I would like this to be an option if possible, unless I am missing something? I am running the Windows 10 and iPhone versions of the application, and I cannot make either of them start automatically.

Does anyone know how to do so? Or is this going to be part of a future update to the service?

I am running Mozilla VPN on an LG X power 2 mobile phone. As the name implies this phone has double the battery capacity of other phones. Mozilla VPN appears to be a real energy hog, sucking my battery dry very quickly. Is this normal? Why would a VPN app use so much power? Is there any way to limit or at least reduce the high energy use? I know, that's three questions, but I hope someone can help. Thanks!

I'm in Canada, and trying to access the US version of Disney Plus (there's a show which has a new season, which is only available in the US for now). I cleared my history/cache/cookies, and turned on the VPN to indicate I'm in the US, but the login screen goes blank on Disney Plus. Any suggestions for how I can get this to work?

Currently trying out Mozilla VPN on Trisquel Etiona (based on Ubuntu Bionic Beaver). It's not the most popular Linux distro but I was able to figure out the VPN's dependencies and get it to work on my system. The problem is that it only works for about 2-3 minutes before my other applications start to freeze and I need to do a hard reboot. Even if I pkill the VPN, it's still shown as running in the terminal. The system permanently hangs if I try to do a normal shutdown. It's very strange and consistently happens within 2-3 minutes of activating the VPN. Nothing pops up in the log so there's not much to share. The bug happens whether I install it from the PPA or if I compile it from Github.

I can think of a number of possible causes (maybe Qt isn't working properly, maybe I have a very specific network issue, conflicting dependencies, bad Wi-Fi, etc), but I was wondering if anyone else had a similar issue. I'm not terribly tech-literate but I followed the Github Readme to the letter. Can't fault Mozilla for this since they technically don't support my OS. I'd just really like to get it to work somehow but I couldn't find anyone else who had this issue.

Still love what Mozilla is trying to do and thanks to the devs/community for putting in the work, whether or not I'm able to enjoy it too.

EDIT

I've been experimenting some more and it seems that my kernel just needed an update, otherwise Wireguard gets fussy. It explains why nearly no one else has had this issue. If you're working on an older Linux kernel and something like this happens, it might be worth looking into a kernel update. Works really well now.
