I-Firefox OS Isithangami Sokwesekwa

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for reading my post, when I heard about Firefox releasing a Mobile OS for Android I was filled with joy, I know a lot of work is needed to get it user friendly and bug free but its great to hear this.

I am curious on a few things really and here are my questions some might be easy some might not have answers just yet.

I have a HTC Desire X smartphone would I be able to install Firefox OS onto this? If "Yes" will it be an easy installation or will I need Linux background to fully understand its process?

Any dates yet on its release?

Will Mozilla be releasing this out in the market were you get a choice of IOS, Android, Windows and Firefox phones? or will it be only be available to download manually and install?

My tablet is using Android 4.0. (ICS)

The Coby website for the MID9740 says it has an Allwinner Cortex™-A8 however that is misleading, as this is really an AllWinner A10, which is a cortex A8 ARM CPU.to be accurate) The Cortex A8 is based on the ARMv7 architecture. It also has 1GB RAM, and cpu is 1 GHz. Out of the box,(and not rooted) it can't access the Google Play for FirefoxOS download. If I root it, I can download from Google. I'm not afraid to root my tablet, but I know many others' are. I had it rooted before using ClockworkMod, but decided to restore to factory.(similar to a routine bi-annual reformat with Windows and Linux on my desktop) I was just wondering if AndroidPit or any other sites have the beta available to test out on my Kyros. I have submitted some app on Mozilla Marketplace. the app which i submitted later got published whereas other app which i developed earlier are under review. So, how many days it gonna take to publish all my apps.

I've installed some Marketplace application on my Android device using Browser. When I hit `menu` button on my device, there is only one menu item named `Quit`. Is it possible to add more menu items?

I have an IronKey secure USB key. It CAME with Firefox installed, and I used it and updated it, even at my workplace where I don't have Administrator priveleges, for last 5 years. Now it's gone from my USB key with last upgrade attempt, and I don't see any option on the Mozilla pages for installing to a USB/thumb key/drive. How can I do this?

Firefox OS comes with a feature to synchronise ones contacts with Facebook. This is done through the Contacts → Settings → Facebook menus, and is documented at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-your-contacts-firefox-os.

However, when I do this, it asks me for a username and password, before giving me a (Facebook-side) error of "Invalid App ID: 323".

Suppose that I don't want to get a SIM card, etc.... No telephone service at all.

Will the device function as a "micro-tablet computer/PDA" using only the wi-fi connection?

There does not seem to be anyway of recording sound onto my ZTE open through it's own microphone. Is there an app I can download. I want to use the facility for audio memos etc and store then on the phone
