We have an intranet portal that we have been running for years that is based on .net 2.0 IIS application pool. We push firefox preferences out and a few things I think that make this work are these network.automatic-ntlm-auth.allow-non-fqdn = true network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris = domain.com (our domain name) network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris = domain.com (our domain name) network.automatic-ntl:m-auth.trusted-uris = .domain.com (our domain name).

Normally our original site proceeded wtihout any issue.

The new site that the vendor wants to upgrade us to has a ton of upgraded code and a slightly updated look and feel and new controls for publishing and configuring content. Like the previous portal, this also runs on IIS but uses .net 4.5 application pool. What happens is when we hit this site in Firefox we are bombarded with a username and password prompt. If you cancel a bunch of times the site will load but eventually it pops up again. If you enter your domain username and password then it goes away and you can use the site normally. IE, Chrome and Edge just go directly to the site, automatically using your current windows login identity so if you post content on the intranet portal it shows as you.

We did a remote session with the vendor of the portal and the guy basically said yeah it has something to do with this .net framework and firefox. We know it worked on the older verison but we've never been able to get it to work in firefox. You'll have to use another browser or enter your domain credentials when you visit the site in firefox.

Does anyone know if there is some sort of under the hood tweak in firefox to get the NTLM passthrough to an IIS based .net 4.5 application like it does with .net 2.0? We would love to keep Firefox as our default browser but when we go live with this portal we may have to switch to Chrome.

Hello,

We have some trouble with Firefox in Windows Roaming Profiles: "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional". The sqlite-shm and sqlite-wal are shown but they are fully inaccessible from CSC (client offline cache). Why does Firefox need to store this temp files in %appdata%? That's really bad design! sqlite-shm and sqlite-wal should be located in %localappdata%.

My solution is to just copy the profile folder, ignoring the inaccessible files. Then I just need to rename it to the original folder name and ff starts just fine. Does anyone know anything more to this problem? Thank you

We have Firefox in an enterprise environment. We have Firefox configured to read from the Root Store in IE. There is one internal site that apparently Firefox cannot, or does not, receive SSL certificate information. When trying to load the site, we receive a Secure Connection Failed error message. There is no option to manually enter an exception. When clicking the information icon next to the URL, there is no certificate information displayed. Internet Explorer is able to open the website without issue. There is no error message anywhere. Is there anywhere I can look to see what is going on? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have installed webex 33.6.7.8 to firefox 60.3. Everything goes just right, and I can attend a meeting, but after the meeting the firefox is not responsing to anything, and has to kill it from task manager. Please suggest a log to check, or something. It appears on several hundreds of machines, so it is not a client side issue.

Hello,

I would like customize FF 66 via GPO templates but on some endpoints customization don't works. Gpresult on endpoint shows policy is applied, after policy applying I've got new registry keys in HKCU\Software\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox but Firefox seems don't see these settings. I try run gpupdate several times and restart endpont but no change.

Is in firefox any debug mode to show what is the cause? How to turn it on?

Thanks for all suggestions.

Dear all,

we have on Windows Server 2016 Standard Server running as Terminal Server on our ESX 6.7 Cluster.

VM Info: Hostname: TS02 Systemname: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Standard Systemversion: 10.0.14393 Build 14393 OS Vendor: Microsoft Corporation Hardware Vendor: VMware, Inc. Modell: VMware Virtual Platform Systemtyp: x64-based PC Hotfix(es): [01]: KB3186568, [02]: KB3192137, [03]: KB4013418, [04]: KB4023834, [05]: KB4035631, [06]: KB4049065, [07]: KB4089510, [08]: KB4091664, [09]: KB4093137, [10]: KB4132216, [11]: KB4465659, [12]: KB4467694, [13]: KB4471331, [14]: KB4477029, [15]: KB4467691 Firefox Version: 63.0.3 (Also tested LTS 60.0.3) Kaspersky: Security for Win Srv 10.1.1.746 Windows Defender is Disabled

Unfortunately, since about 4 Month our Firefox installation is causing a crash of the user experience service. We have no Windows logs regarding this problem at all, the only thing we see is that the service is being forcefully terminated at shutdown.

The problem/crash shows up in the following chronology: - A user is opening a "filename.html" file out of an outlook e-mail attachment in Firefox. Firefox is the default browser on the system. - The firefox crashes on the user session and the user is not able to start Firefox again. - About 5 Minutes after the first crash, other users are complaining about poor performance in their remote session. Beside the performance problem other firefox Windows from other users start to freeze. Users that logout from their session can only see a black screen after the login prompt when they try to login again. Admins can only login through the vmware console to the server, since their sessions are black too. - About 10 Minutes after the first crash the whole system is extremely slowly and no one can use firefox anymore since all Firefox Windows in all sessions are frozen. - About 15 Minutes after the first crash the system has to be rebooted because it is not usable anymore.

After the server is rebooted, everything works fine. Even files from outlook attachments can be opened fine. After about 24 hours to 5 days everything begins from start again.

We already have tried LTS versions of Firefox with no luck. Windows Updates are installed, Kaspersky for Server is on the latest patch release. At the moment we have configured a GPO object that prevents the firefox.exe from being executed and the problem is not showing up again. But since our internal CRM Software is only Firefox and (partly) IE compatible, we urgently need Firefox back as soon as possible.

I've found some crash reports from Firefox, gut did not get any (for me/us) usable information out of it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards, Val

Hello, I look after our Citrix VDI environment. We have an older version of Firefox (49.0.2) currently running on our shared servers so need to update this. In test I have updated to the 64-bit version of Firefox Quantum 63.0.1 I am able to load pages and about:config when logged on to the server through VMware console session but as soon as I RDP to the server I get a blank page and websites wont load. Nothing happens when I go to about:config. This is happening when I am logged on via RDP with the same account as I use when logged on to the VMware console to the same server - which is a Domain admin account. I've turned off hardware acceleration, confirmed no DNS issue as I can browse in other browsers, no Windows Firewall turned on and No AV that could be blocking this So not sure what else to check. Is there a setting in about:config that I might need to change?

Thanks in advance!

I have installed firefox on our Windows 2008 servers. It works on all except for citrix xenapp 6 servers These have roaming profiles via GPOs. What do i have to look for that causes firefox to only present a whitescreen.

Does it need extra rights to %appdata% or anything GPO related in roaming profiles ?
