For the last week or so, Firefox on my desktop has opened to a blank new tab screen, and won't load any other pages. It won't even load support.mozilla.org, I'm asking this on my phone! I've had to use Edge on the occasions that I CAN'T use my mobile for the task; printing shipping labels, downloading a better art program, that sort of thing. I'd really rather NOT use Edge at all, thanks.

I use Firefox Focus for android, but I want to make Qwant.com my default browser instead of Google. I go to settings, change default browser and it asks for the name of the search engine I want to use, then the string for it. I have no idea what the string is supposed to be. It says to type it like the example, so I do, but it says "not found". Does anyone know how to do this?

I tried to solve by following some instructions of yours in these foruns, but it didnt work for me because the site pogo.com only allows you to play the games with the latest JAVA version (7) so i uninstalled java7 and tried 6r32 but, still it asks me to download the latest version. so e«what happens is that i canm hear the game, but not play it or see it. help?

Because of the location where I live, most of google services are blocked on the internet. Yesterday I wanted to download a device driver from www.m-audio.com but the driver's page stopped loading. I noticed a message at the bottom left of the Firefox window saying "waiting for www.google.com" or something similar. Because of that wait, I could open the page only after 4 tries and waiting way too much time. Can I filter page contents from google so Firefox skips them?

Hello, I've started using Mozilla Firefox Nightly, but I really can't find any website which provides an information of new things, that has been added or fixed in a new firefox build. Could anyone give me any website where I could track Mozilla Firefox Nightly development? Thanks!

I run Firefox with multiple profiles, as there are several people that use this computer. I start firefox with -p <profilename> -no-remote.

This all works fine except if I'm in try to open a link from for instance in an email, I click on the link and it opens the profile manager. If I select a profile that already has an open window I get an error message stating

"Firefox cannot use the profile "Rick" because it is in use. To continue, close the running instance of Firefox or choose a different profile."

Is there anyway to have it open the link in a new tab of an already running profile, rather then having to close the profile and then click the link.

I just updated to the newest Firefox. I'm sad that the google toolbar is no longer supported. But I'll soldier on... <big sigh>.

Seriously though: The function I miss from google toolbar is the drop down menu in the search bar, allowing me to 'drop down' and reselect a previous search phrase... what can I say, I'm scatter brained and easily distracted, so I often return to a concept multiple times a week.

How can I emulate the same function in FF 17?

My browser use to automatically complete a link in the address/awesome bar but since I changed laptop it doesn't do that anymore...Why is that and is an addon needed?

I am using a macro to fill in a form and select fields in the form. The fields are titled and i want to use the field title to select the field and thus need to copy the name to compare with the search text and tab to the next requested field.

It recommends: "Go into the options and untick the double click to translate box" for "Google Dictionary and Translate 2.5 add-on"

... but does not explain how to get to the options. I am not sure, in fact, that this is the solution.

I have "Easy Google Translate (3.1)" ... but this is already disabled. I don't see any other Google Translate add-on installed at this time, per: "about:addons" ... I also searched "about:config" for "Translate" and didn't find Google Translate their either.

am I looking in the right place, or is there another solution?

I don't have a question, just a suggestion for others with a similar issue.

I recently upgraded to FF 17.0. I also tried a couple of new extensions because my old ones were incompatible. It seems that one of the new extensions installed Ask.com on any New Tabs that I opened. I searched for a fix and could only come up with

I started FF in Safe Mode with everything disabled and it still happened. I removed all the new extensions and it still happened.

Finally, I figured something out that DID work. If you are having a similar problem, try this:

Type "about:config" into the address bar.

Type "ask" into the Search bar.

Find the following entry:

browser.newtab.url

Double-click on it and simply delete the value. Now all of your New Tabs will open to a blank page. Or, if you want a different page, type in the address (e.g. google.com, bing,com, etc.).

I would like to know how to add my User ID and Password to allow seamless login to a site by using the userid and password

I have an existing shortcut and would like FF to open and login to the site with one "double-click"

I do appreciate that it is a security risk to do this, but the information on this site poses no risk for me if someone that has authorized access to my personal computer, click on this shortcut.

I will appreciate any help to assist me in doing this.

I'm trying to open Firefox with multiple tabs open at one time using a program, which reads a configuration file (XML). I discovered when using the "-new-tab" command line parameter, I get one windows for each URL instead of one window with multiple tabs.

I can get it to work IF Firefox is already up and fully running. In other words its frames exist and are visible. If Firefox is only running (say in the tasklist) but not yet visible, the user again gets one window for each URL (e.g. 5 URLs = 5 Firefox windows) instead of 1 window with 5 tabs.

Thus I've been wondering is there a method in Windows or using Firefox to tell from a script (e.g. REXX, BAT, Perl, etc) if Firefox is completely visible and running, so when you a script uses the "-new-tab" parameter the tab appears instead of a window (per URL).

Before update i was able to click on link then just push "enter" and it was downloading, now i cannot do that, i need to use mouse save url.

How to disable video file preview in new firefox?

I recently noticed that when I open a Firefox Browser, at the top, where it says "Mozilla Firefox" it is followed by this: (Build 2097109189239018)

Those are not the actual numbers, but that is what it looks like - Parenthesis with the word "Build" followed by a series of numbers and then the end parenthesis.

I would like to get rid of this please. I don't want to see it.

What is it first of all? Why is it suddenly appearing in my browser bar? And HOW can I get rid of it once and for all?

I used the ‘import data from another browser’ option from the star menu under the ‘show all history’ menu to import history from Chrome and Safari, but haven’t yet located the imports. (I tried viewing options of sort by date added, date modified, etc.) Where are they? Under what name? Thank you!
