Hi all,

Is there a way to export/backup all the emails and folders from an account using Thunderbird for Android? I've searched around and can't find any sign of it, or mention here on support.mozilla.org or elsewhere on the web, so I presume that the feature doesn't exist, however I thought I'd ask here just in case.

My use case is that I've got an old email account which I want to backup before I migrate away from it.

Before asking my question, I have to say that I have been extremely happy that Thunderbird introduced their app. for phones. Historically, I have had many problems with my desktop version, and even now there are days that I cannot send e-mails from my desktop, but that's a question for another time.

My question now is, am I somehow able to access my local folders that my son set up on my desktop (in order not to clog up my allowance), on my phone? The local folders are in the menu on my desktop, but not on my phone.

i have thunderbird on my pc and i now have it on my android phone the accounts have transfered over with all of the folders but the contents of the folders are missing, they are still there on the pc can anyone help?

I like the platform but am frustrated that my inbound emails and inboxes are only retrieved every 15 minutes for it to check and synch? Can it be set up for immediate reveal of new messages and account synching?

I went out of the USA on May to Ecuador and Peru, and on the same day the Android version of Thunderbird stopped retrieving new email from the server. I have used Thunderbird pointed to the same server on Windows 11 and Android successfully for years. I thought it might be something to do with being out of the country, but now I'm back in the USA, and sync account on Android still does not retrieve new mail that has accumulated since May 4th. I've been following my email using a webmail access so I know there's lots of new mail. I've closed and reopened Thunderbird on the Android, and I've tried sync account with the webmail access closed. I have not yet tried Thunderbird on my windows 11 laptop because I'm still not home yet. Any suggestions welcomed, thank you for your help! Today I received a suspicious email from wilfred.bayer.lsr8a@sewjp.jolorvex.world. When I tried to forward it to report@phishing.gov.uk, it remained in the mobile app's Outbox and a message appeared as a notification: "Failed to send a message. Reject for policy reason." Then I took a screenshot of as much of the content as I could and attached it to a new email, sending it to the same address. This too remains in the Outbox. What is the problem?

TB crashed so I uninstalled/reinstalled it. As part of the reinstallation, I selected the "load more" value as 1000 more. This was done rather casually and without any consideration. Afterwards, I thought perhaps this might slow Thunderbird down. Is that true? And how do I change "1000 more" to some other value? I've searched extensively but can't find a solution anywhere. Question 1: How can I add an HTML signature file for an account in Thunderbird for Android by referencing a file on my phone? Or, something similar that will accomplish the same thing (i.e., HTML email .sig).

Background: In Thunderbird on my Desktop (currently using 140.10.1esr), I can go to Account Settings, select an email account, check the "Attach the signature from a file instead (text, HTML, or image):" and then "Choose..." a file I created on my local machine. My file is HTML (e.g., mysig.html) and references an image (in the same local directory). I want to replicate this in TBA.

Question 2: If there is no way to do this (the functionality is not purposefully there and there is no work-around to fool TBA into behaving properly), is there a place I can submit this request to the developers?

I have set up Push Notification and have a small blue icon at the top left of the screen and I will get notifications but then I notice it has gone quiet and the little icon has disappeared so I have to close Thunderbird and then restart it to get the icon back at the top of the screen. Any suggestions please as to what is causing this.

When I select text in message compose window, the text select colour remains white, same as the background colour. I'm using dark theme in message composer just to avoid this problem.

Miui - android 10 I think an update to Thunderbird broke this. Else it was working perfectly.

I had selected a couple of emails and went to press the menu button dots, but hit this button instead. Emails vanished.

How do I undo what I did?

I can't find a dummies guide to the basic android app interface.

The automated email from one sender states in the Inbox summary that the email client does not support HTML (TB app for Android). Presumably the message format is changed accordingly. I don't see a setting for incoming email formatting. Can you help? Inbox summary view and partial view of opened message below.

Hi. I use Thunderbird Android 17.0 on my phone and tablet. Everything is great on the phone.

On the tablet, unified inbox worked fine until two days ago. Now, no email goes into the unified inbox and I have to open accounts individually to see email. The unified inbox still shows, but the last email in there is from two days ago. I did not change any settings and berichten that the checkbox is checked to show the unify inbox.

What cohort have caused this and how can I fix it?

I have installed Thunderbird on my Samsung phone and synced it with the desktop. All three of my gmail accounts came up okay, but when I go into them I do not get the inbox, only outbox. When I click on each account to try to sign in I get an error that says "OAuth 2.0 is currently not supported with the provider". How can I sign in to my gmail accounts on my phone in Thunderbird?1
