I have clicked on View/Folder/Unified Folders but none og my IMAP accounts are listed.

Can anyone please advuise how to resolve this issue?

My Thunderbird on an updated Win 10 desktop stopped sending gmail messages. They time and error out.

Was also failing on older Tbird version so updated to current ver 128.2.0 but no improvement.

I have followed Mozilla's several published accept cookie and IMAP sendmail OAuth2 fixes but without any improvement. Still same error message when try to email from one of my IMAP Gmail accounts on Tbird.

TBird 128.2.0 Error Message: "Thunderbird error message: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com timed out. Try again."

I need HELP!

I just started seeing this occur today. When I started Thunderbird, my main e-mail has the subject matter, date and time, but doesn't display the message. All my other e-mail identities are unaffected. All e-mails from previous dates are displayed properly. New messages today are displayed correctly. I tried to forward one of the messages to another address, and it came out blank. I tried starting it in Troubleshooting mode, but it made absolutely no difference. How do I view the messages?

Have just had an issue with an email coming in from a support person at the Uni helpdesk. The inbox (see below left) shows the correct name and email address, but the content is quite different.

When I checked the mail using Outlook, the correct file content was shown (see below right).

I have tried compacting the Inbox folder within TB [128.2.0esr (64-bit)], but no change. I am running Win 11 (64-bit) 23H2 with the latest cumulative update (KB5043076) installed 5 days ago.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

I'd like to try to configure an Exchange (Office 365) account in Thunderbird Beta, and it doesn't work for me. I use the autodiscover and: 1. Thunderbird tells me that it can recover the connection settings, okay 2. It offers me IMAP, POP and Exchange/Office365. If I select the last one, it says that the server doesn't allow open protocols and that I must install/pay the Owl extension. 3. If I select "configure manually" with Exchange protocol, an error appears: "Component returned failure code: 0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE) [nsiMsgAccountManager.createIncomingServer]

Thunderbird is up-to-date on my Win 10 machine. I've disabled and re-enable HTML rendering.

Today is the first time this has happened, and the problematic messages seem to be random; no apparent connection between sends or type.

Unable to Find Global Search

It says it will search all fields, accounts, folders, etc. for any messages.

It doesn't exist on my screen, though, the way it's described in that article (as a search box above the Filter box).

The closest feature I can find is Shift-Ctl-F that brings up a very narrowly targeted search facility that forces me to pick the specific folder that I want to search, and the field that I want to search within the eMails within that folder. This highly focused search is the exact opposite of the Global Search feature that I'm looking for, which doesn't make me specify anything to search through.

How do I invoke the Global Search feature, so that I can ask Thunderbird to "just find it" anywhere in the system when I type in a search term?

I have just had to delete one of my accounts, and reinstall it after I kept getting an error message. Doing this seems to have solved the error, but now that account sits at the bottom of the list of all of the emails, but it is one of the accounts I use most regularly and it would be more convenient if it were further up the list. I cannot seem to see a way of moving them anywhere?? In other programs it appears that you simply drag the email address up or down to relocate it? Any help would be appreciated.

Even though [replied in another similar thread] that I have the same issue, I'm making another one 'cause it seems pretty dead.

Since ver 128 Nebula, some mails (sorted in a labeled folder) appear totally white / blank and I don't know why. They appear perfectly fine when viewed from my provider's webmail service (Gandi SOGo), but not in Thunderbird. But here's the thing: they appear fine from the sent folder after I replied to them (via the webmail).

I've already tried restarting in safe mode with all modules disabled, to no success.

How do I add or change the columns to show me nicknames or other fields when Composing?

During write (composing) there is a contacts list on the left.

There is a button (for which no help pops up when hovering) that allows me to add the columns "address book" and/or "email address", but no other fields like nickname or phone number.

No matter which colors I use in the settings menu, Thunderbird always displays a reply message in dark grey text on a darker grey background. I have tried the system theme, the light theme, several dark themes but the result is always the same. If a hit reply to a message (which is usually HTML) the reply window shows dark grey text on a darker grey background. Has anyone found a solution to this ?

Google tells me to click om the hamburger icon and then how to get to "saved passwords". But when I click on "show Passwords", thinking I might be able to change an email PW there, I am asked to verify my identity and provide a password. I haven't a clue what password is wanted here. My simple Thunderbird PW I set up many years ago does not work. So how do I change my Password for my Email address that no longer works?

Trouble with multiple computers (Only some accounts and sending only)

After a power outage I now get this message on all three of my computers but only on some accounts: "An error occurred while sending mail, The mail server responded: <… (funda kabanzi)

After a power outage I now get this message on all three of my computers but only on some accounts:

"An error occurred while sending mail, The mail server responded: <1234@roadrunner.com> sender rejected. The email address you are sending as must match the email address you used to auth. Please check your SMTP settings, AUP#Out-1500. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again."

I know what that means but I'm very confused because I use and have always used ONE <default> smpte for all my accounts and never had a problem until now. Thunderbird even gives the user a choice of whether to use one default account or separate smpte password statements for each account. I still can't send when I try to enter separate urls and/or passwords for each account. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks, Joe

Email Notifications in 128.2.1

With version 128, now when I open Thunderbird, I get a notification alert and sound for every new email. If I have 20 new emails, I get 20 notification alerts and sounds… (funda kabanzi)

With version 128, now when I open Thunderbird, I get a notification alert and sound for every new email. If I have 20 new emails, I get 20 notification alerts and sounds. Very annoying. The previous version would have one notification saying I have 20 unread emails. Much better.

After update Thunderbird downloaded headers but not message content,

Some time ago Thunderbird changed from downloaded header and message as one, to downloading all the headers and then downloading the message content. At the moment I can access old messages but none that have tried to download this morning.

Can anyone help please?

All of the addresses would then be added to BCC in my email to send. Then I could type the message and send it to all without sharing individual email addresses. I can no longer do this. I am using an older version of thunderbird 91.13.1. When I updated it a few years ago, I couldn't find my way around, so I stuck with the old version because it was working for me! Thunderbird 128.2.2 esr - PDF attachments are sometime damaged and cannot be open.

PDF attachments to emails are sometimes corrupt. They are not displayed when the email is opened (only a blue line is shown); after they are saved they cannot be opened (… (funda kabanzi)

They are not displayed when the email is opened (only a blue line is shown); after they are saved they cannot be opened (Adobe and also EDGE give a message that the file is damaged). The same attachments can be opened and saved correctly using the free Outlook application from Windows. I noticed the problem this month. The installed version of Thunderbird is Thunderbird 128.2.2 esr - but the problem also existed with version 128.2.1.
