I'm new to Thunderbird and I'm no longer tech savvy - ugh. Eventually, I want to delete my accounts with gmail and outlook. I've discovered in trying to bridge thunderbird to my network/router? (i think that's what's going on), my network/router is connected to my gmail account. I haven't figured out how to change that or if I should. But when I try to sign into thunderbird email, it asks me to sign in with my gmail account. I have an apple email account and trying to get that to be my sign in with thunderbird NOT gmail. Is it possible to sign in with apple account and if so what steps (please in very simple instructions) do I need to take to get the sign in to ask me to sign in with my apple account? Do I need to change my network/router (of which I haven't figured out how to do and if I can get around that I would love that) somehow to the apple account? help.... I can't close TB. It is frozen in the midst of trying to compact files. This is the error message:

"Compact folders (Not responding) Thunderbird needs to do regular file maintenance to improve the performance of your mail folders. This will recover 685 MB of disk space without changing your messages. To let Thunderbird do this automatically in the future without asking, check the box below before choosing ‘Compact now’."

My husband and I had the same problem with our laptops not loading emails, saying it doesn't have sufficient file space. I fixed his by deleting a lot of files and then compacting the remainder. BUT - this isn't working for mine. In the process of trying to compact files, it froze and I can't figure out a way to close it and try again.

When I click on Thunderbird to read my Emails I get a warning box popup saying ( Configuration Error. Failed to read the Configuration File. Please contact your system administrator) When I click OK the box closes and Thunderbird Email starts up and I can then read and send emails. I can't contact the administrator because I am him and I don't know how to fix this error. I would be pleased if any one out there knows how to correct this error. Thanks for Helping.

Hello folks, This has been a normal part of using Thunderbird for years, One of my Gmail accounts takes forever to synchronize... Eight or ten minutes... Strangely today, it's two of my other Gmail accounts that are taking very long.... Thanks ! Craig in Seattle

Have tried all options to get the pop up to show, including calling Apple…no luck..I even tried the advanced settings option typing about:config in address bar…doesn’t work. I enjoy Firefox but this may cause me to switch. Please help. Steve Destintider@email.com 850-585-751

Hi, I recently had an office location change and post that in my office laptop, Thunderbird cannot authenticate with outlook and collect mails from it. IT team tried syncing the password from their end, and we tried a million other things like checking server settings in Thunderbird etc, but nothing is working. It just says "connecting to outlook.office365.com...." and is stuck there.

I'm using Proton VPN. I have the split tunneling set to allow non-VPN connection for thunderbird.exe . It doesn't work. I have a different app that needs split tunneling and it works fine, so it's not the way Proton VPN handles split tunneling. I'm wondering whether I should use a different exe as the split-tunneled one. I see 8 other exe's in the same folder. Perhaps one of these is the one to set-up for split tunneling. BTW I had exactly the same problem when I was using Nord VPN.

a few months ago, i built a new computer and upgraded to windows 11. but i have been having a bug where after resuming use of a firefox window, i will at some point lose the ability to left clicks links or to type in any fields on the page. for my mouse, i can still properly left click web buttons, like the youtube players, and i can left click tabs to switch between them. right and middle click still work correctly as well. for the keyboard, i can use keybinds on my keyboard (ctrl-tab/ctrl-shift-tab/ctrl-a) or hit space bar/page up/page down to navigate, but typing in fields just doesnt work. this bug happens after some random point of using the program, so it could happen after 10 seconds or 10 minutes.

the only way to fix it is to switch to a different program momentarily, whether that be alt tabbing to a non firefox window or clicking the desktop. ive just tried switching all my extensions and everything off with troubleshoot mode, but still experienced the bug. ive also tried different keyboards and mice in different ports and had the same issue persist, so i dont think its my peripheral software since i used generic keyboards too.

does anyone have any suggestions on what could be happening here and if anyone is experiencing the same issue? its very frustrating

Focus crashed a lot on my old phone, but it crashes even more on my Z Flip 5. Usually it happens when I attempt to switch tabs, but sometimes it happens even when I have only a single tab. The crash reports all look mostly the same, this is the most recent:

I'm a therapist and within the last week (maybe since an update?) when I try to do a telehealth session from any website - Ensora Mental Health (my EHR), Simple Practice, Sessions by Psychology Today, Google Meet, Zoom - the client can see me but can't hear me, and I can hear them but can't see them (black screen).

I've checked all video and microphone permissions, Microsoft and all drivers are updated and mic and camera are functioning (they can see me). I tried changing the enhanced tracking to add exceptions for the sites (didn't work).

Please advise.
