I want to know if it is possible to use multiple instances of Thunderbird (different versions!) on the same computer. The add-in "Attachment extractor" does not work beyond version 52.9.1 and it is so handy that it justifies the use of an older version of Thunderbird. However, I only need it once per month (each month!), because of invoices (yes, I work in accounting). Any suggestions would be appreciated. An update of the add-in would be more appreciated, even when payment is needed. PLEAAASE!

Hi, I am in England & I have a group mailing list for hirers of our local Village Hall. Recent European Union Law (called GDPR) now requires additional privacy & data protection for persons receiving emails from a mailing list.

To comply with EU Law I now need to separately change each (To) field to (BCC) before I can send a group email. I am concerned that I might accidentally miss a BCC change or accidentally delete an address whilst doing this.

As this Is now a legal requirement in Europe & the UK, is there any way of setting a default of BCC for a group mailing list ?

It used to work fine. I recently deleted two POP3 Gmail accounts after adding them as IMAP. I now have a mixture of IMAP and Gmail accounts in TB. I've downloaded and installed the add-on 1.2.0pre3 but this hasn't helped - the Sort Accounts panel remains blank. I've re-installed TB 60.4.0 without any effect. Can anyone please help? - it is causing problems after years of the accounts being in a particular order.

Just updated TB to 60.3.3, and the Write function doesn't work. I can insert a To address, and a Subject, but I can't write anything in the composition pane. Kind of an important function! Also, clicking on Options just produces a blank page, which is not very helpful! What's the easiest way to revert to a previous version?

When reading an e-mail in a folder, whether the Inbox or some saved mail folder within Thunderbird, I have the option under the "More Actions" drop down to perform a "Save As" to save a file to my hard drive in one of 4 different formats (Mail Files, HTML Files, Text Files, or All Files). Since all the required functionality is already in Thunderbird, could the "Save As" feature be added to the Message Filter creation function so that could be an option for saving e-mails as well ? The destination hard drive directory could be selected in the creation setup in the filter and then add a date modifier for an effective file naming capability (i.e. <filename>-`date`-<incrementing version>.txt where version just auto increments for multiple files on the same day). I can't seem to find any add-ons that work for version 60.3.3 and it seems that a number of people are looking for this kind of solution. I am running Thunderbird 60.3.3 on both Windows 7 and Windows 10 machines. I sincerely appreciate your consideration of this suggestion.

This is about my 89 yo mother's email client, thunderbird. When TB opens, for just a second I can see her inbox, sentbox, etc and then in a flash, a new tab opens that is just blank. I can't close this tab. I've reinstalled TB, that didn't help. I've included a screenshot.

I really appreciate the help. Email and FB are my mother primary means of communicating with the world. Not having a working version of TB is really hurting her.

Is it possible to make a Template with a clip art Graphic included? I've tried to copy/Paste a Graphic & save as a Template. The Graphic shows on the e mail page but after saving the Graphic is not shown. What am I doing wrong? Or can't it be done?

Both my desktop and laptop computers have Thunderbird files named PROFILE under AppData Local and AppData Roaming. The data file in both directories bears the same name. However, the one under Local only has three folders while the one under Roaming has more than a dozen folders. Does the one under Local service a purpose?

HI there! I don't know what I clicked on but I've got the of folders on the left - that's OK - but the rest of the screen is a tasteful pink and white diagonal stripe and I cannot see how to get out of that and back to the list of messages and the preview pane. Please help! Thanks in advance.

If a contact belongs to more than one list, how can I find out in which ones it is (without looking into each list)? In the older version there was a Search-botton, when showing the contact details. When pressing this button, the related lists(s) of this contact were shown. Now this button is replaced(?) by a "show- map"-button.

I have this add on installed but be darned if I can figure out how to use it. I've Googled and still can't find anything. There are lots of screenshots shown, and explanations of what the program will do, but not the exact steps to take to accomplish what you want.

There used to be a search box above inbox for the following fields: subject, from, date and body. Now that search box has dissappeared and I can no longer search any of those fields and don't know how to get search box back. Your help is very much appreciated.

Since the installation of Thunderbird 60.3. (09.11.) attached word files are corrupted. I cannot open the attached word file after receiving a copy of my mail. All servers from companies refuse my mail alltogether. I deleted already the mimeTypes.rdf file, but no solution. The previous version Thunderbird 52 on my second MacBook works absolutely fine as also on this Retina Book until the 09.11. The problem occurs with all my mail accounts under Thunderbird 60.3. I attach files to show the problem.

OS is windows 10 Thunderbird Updated to 60.3.0 this morning

Any received email, if I Reply to sender there is no addressee in the address bar. I need to manually address it to the sender. No subject (Subject blank) I have to add subject. Can not type at all in body of email. Can not move cursor to body of email. If I start a new email, can not type at all in body of email. Can not move cursor to body of email.

There is no minus or X in main Thunderbird window. Need to shut down with task manager.

Restarted Thunderbird. Twice Rebooted PC once.

I'm using the Calibri font, 12, and on my client's Thunderbird (52.9.1), when I send text like this:

123^123

that text comes across with the initial 123, but then there is no ^ character and the second 123 is super-scripted.

This problem is severe since sending passwords and such become garbled and unreadable/unusable via TB.

On my own Mac (10.14), I do not have the same problem in TB.

Baffled what could be causing this. There was another forum posting on this topic, but the suggestion offered did not seem to help the OP. Thus, my additional posting.

Thunderbird v52.9.1 I have been looking for my .mbox files and have found none. I have three different email addresses (accounts) in a single profile.

I use my own basic path to ..../Profiles/.........

In path ...../Profiles/*****.default/Imapmail/Imap.****.de I see an Inbox.sbd & many .msf file corresponding to folders and subfolders (.sbd files).

In path ...../Profiles/*****.default/Mail/Local Folders I see two .msf files corresponding to folders.

In path ...../Profiles/*****.default/Mail/****.de I see an Inbox.sbd & many .msf file corresponding to folders and subfolders (.sbd files).

Are the .msf files where the e-mails are?

I need this information to find an email where FSecure virus scan has told me there is a generic Trojan that it will automatically deal with. (Most likely a false alarm but I want to remove it.)
