Google provides a different key to differentiate installed copies of Google Chrome (standard or "Google Chrome for Work") in this file:

"/Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/Info.plist"

Google Chrome:
<key>KSBrandID</key>

Google Chrome for Work:

<string>GGRO</string>

Is there such an identifier on Firefox vs Firefox ESR?

Every image I upload looks different in Firefox than the file opened in other programs and different than Google Chrome. It looks with less contrast for sure, and I think a little bit reddish. I noted it when I opened the file with Firefox and when I saw pictures in Facebook. My Firefox version is 47.0, my OS is Ubuntu 16.04 and I already tried in Firefox safe mode.

When I enter names in the "To:" line, the Daily doesn't search the Address Book for email like the release version does. This has happened with all of the Daily's for the several months I've tried them. I'd really like to have a stable 64-bit version and the Daily works with this exception.

hello, is there a way to build my address book automatically? problem is that i had problems with a different email program and lost all of my contacts, thus i could not import them into thunderbird. (btw: sooo glad tbird was recently updated)

if i could paint a mental picture for you, is there like a add-on that can go thru all the emails in the inbox and say build a table, like a spreadsheet, whereas the email address's are in a single column. then from there i can import then into the tbird address book or at least i can leave them in spreadsheet format and use them as needed?

incidentally, i use the term "ripping" because i think this is what is referred to when people and companies rip data from the yellow pages and build databases with, ie yellow page ripping.

Hi. I want to send an e-mail and attach another e-mail that I received earlier. (I do not want to just forward the earlier e-mail). Is that possible ? - and, if so, on clicking attach, where should I tell Thunderbird to search, please ? Many thanks for any help on this

I have had to format my hard drive because of virus problems. I have a backup of the above version of Thunderbird which will re-install all my existing settings & emails. It will only work on version 45.5.0 (en-GB)! I have tried searching the internet & have only managed to download the US version, which is not compatible with my back-up! Please can anyone help?

In the past I somehow was able to connect to Yahoo using Thunderbird, but for the life of me I don't remember how I did it. I accessed it through a line that is at the bottom of the e-mail window and the window that shows what the e-mail message contains. What must I do so that I can again access the internet using Thunderbird along with Yahoo.com?

I've been using Thunderbird for my e-mail pickup for years. Just today something happened to my hgreeb@att.net account.

Thunderbird reports that my password is incorrect, but doesn't allow another password to be entered.

I delete the passwords for inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net from the password manager, and Thuderbird allows me to enter the new password, which works with the yahoo mail when I access it through my firefox browser, but it doesn't work with Thunderbird. It takes the new password, but then reports that the password is incorrect, but doesn't allow for entry of a new password. Of course it wouldn't work.

Every two or three days a window appears asking for my password for xxxxxxxxx@gmail.com . I didn't have to do this when I used xxx@fairbrook1.orangehome.co.uk I no longer use Orange as they are withdrawing their service.

I just got a message from Google that someone tried to access my account. They suggested I change my password, I did and now I cannot access my emails using the program I usually use to access my gmail accounts, Mozilla's "Thunderbird". I can get my mail but I have to log into Google's program to get them. I have 4 and they all forward to the one below. When I open TB I can only see the emails that arrived before I changed the password. No new ones, I tried to send a test from my wife's gmail account & it sent. Didn’t show up in my in box on TB. I see it in Google's email program in box but It doesn’t go to my in box in TB. I also can't send any messages from TB. TB request that I log in but I just keep getting this message when I try to log in. I'm using the same password I have to use to get into the gmail program so it is the correct password as I can see all my email in my in box.

Here is the message I get every time I open TB or try to send any message.

"Sending of password for user rgh43is@gmail.com did not succeed. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: Web login required: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/78754"

When I try to send an e mail in TB then this box pops up: ____________________________________________________________________ Google

Sign In to continue to Mozilla Thunderbird e mail

E mail or phone rgh43is@gmail.com

Clicking on anything in this box does nothing, I cant get it to go to Next or anywhere.

I have used Thunderbird for years and my wife's account still works with TB and still has the same old password that I had until I changed it.

Unless I changed or checked something I shouldn’t have when I changed the password & updated the contact info. I'm at a loss. Any Ideas what the problem is. Thanks

I don't see a new email notification in the taskbar when I receive new email. I do have the Thunderbird icon in the taskbar but it never changes when I receive new email.

Is there a way to see a notification in the taskbar when a new and/or unread email is received? (New user here.)

Windows 10 with Creators update (64 bit) + Thunderbird 52.0.1 (32 bit) at May 1, 2017. Also tried it on a Windows 7 PC (32 bit) and there are no taskbar notifications on that system either.

I have spent a lot of time trying to find info on the net regarding this issue. Have searched through Thunderbird and Windows settings changing taskbar and notifications settings as previously suggested for this question. Nothing has worked on either PC.

Thunderbird was sending and receiving emails with Charter.net but not stopping working with error 'timed out'. I have checked and rechecked the entered info and also called Charter and they have been verified as correct. Thanks!......Candy

I would like the contact information that I have already entered into Google to be available for email addresses on Thunderbird. I have created of the card containing them, but I don't know how I can add the card information to the address book. Thank you.

When ever I open an e mail from an originations the Images (pictures) do not appear only a box. Some time when I click on the box it will open something. Tere is nothing in the boxes to indicate what it is. See attached screen shot.

I have Thunderbird Version 45.8.0 where after composing a message when I click Send, the message disappears nicely from the screen and the message is off.

However on the latest version 52.1.1 (32-bit) when I do the same action, Click to Send.. the message stays on the screen for a while and I have to wait for it to disappear before I can do something else.

Is this a case of different versions or is there a tweak in the new version that I can set up in order for the Send function to behave the same way as the older version?

It is getting quite annoying sitting and looking at the screen for the message to disappear after clicking Send.
