Windows 10, 64 bit. Firefox ver 87 For the past several days I have not been able to sign into my online banking at Scotiabank. When I enter my user name and password I immediately get an error message "Sorry, we couldn't complete your request". At the top it says "something went wrong" and the message comes from the Scotiabank site saying "generic-error". I've tried refreshing Firefox, removing all cache and cookies. Have tried restarting the computer. I note that Firefox appears to have updated itself on April 3rd and that appears to be when the problem started...could be just coincidental. Other web sites appear fine. I can use Microsoft Edge to log in to Scotiabank just fine as well, but I prefer Firefox. Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks

Hi!

My email provider will soon discontinue their email service. The webmail site will be discontinued, and I have learned that this email account will disappear from my Thunderbird client (I have a PC, not a Mac).

When the email service discontinues, will it affect my Thunderbird client, in my PC (other than not displaying the discontinued email account), like creating technical problems (not receiving emails to my Gmail) or a need to reinstall Thunderbird, and/or lift emails from my Gmail webmail to the Thunderbird client?

Thunderbird Column Order Reverts to Default After Changing Order and Display

With the most recent update of Thunderbird 78.5.1, three of my email accounts will not retain the column display order in the email list pane. These are IMAP accounts on… (funda kabanzi)

With the most recent update of Thunderbird 78.5.1, three of my email accounts will not retain the column display order in the email list pane. These are IMAP accounts on the same email domain.

I try to change the columns displayed and sort order, and restart Thunderbird, and the columns revert back to default. I tried removing the accounts and recreating them. I even tried the Thunderbird 64-bit beta....still the same issue.

Everything was working well prior to a recent Thunderbird update.

What I'd like for the Columns to be is in the following order for all email accounts:

Thread > Starred > From > Subject > Attachment > Date

I also tried creating a Chrome folder and userChrome.css file in that folder to hide the columns I don't want to see.

I also tried to edit the prefs.js file to change the column order and display..

Neither of the two above seem to have any impact on what I'd like to accomplish.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've been using Thunderbird for many years, and this is the first time experiencing this kind of issue.

Firefox for Android can't seem to find its internal PDF viewer in its recent versions.

The expected behavior should be, when opening a PDF file from any source, to prompt the user for the app they want to open it with when a default isn't set (works as intended) with apps such as Firefox, Chrome, Google Drive's native viewer, among other possibilities. When the disk path to the file is entered into the address bar, Firefox should automatically open the file natively.

The actual behavior is that all *but* Firefox is listed in the prompt, nor can I it be found in the device settings. It is reasonable that it's an issue with Android, so I will open a thread with Google as well. When the disk path to the file is entered into the address bar, the user is incorrectly asked to download the file again. (???)

This bug is very disconcerting; Being able to do it all from the browser was one of the biggest things I loved about Firefox for mobile, particularity with reading PDFs; it was the only reason I switched from the Google default!

How do I force it to go away and permanently default to "print using the system dialog", which "Firefox help" never heard of. I can't find any way to get rid of it. It is a hateful change to Firefox, I hate it and my sister is in tears. She hates computers anyway. Seniors can't handle these dramatic changes.

My laptop location in Firefox is using my former home location. But when I do the same Weather Google Search or Google Map website in Chrome, the location is my current location in North Carolina. This true whether I'm logged into my Google account or not Signed in to my Google account.

In Firefox I've checked Tools/Options/Privacy & Security/Permissions/Location/Settings. It lists 3 sites that have asked for access to my Locations: google, home depot and BedBathBeyond. Yet when I use Google to search "weather", it gives me Wayne NJ. This section will not let me add Google Maps.

In Security I changed Block Pop-ups to continue to have a checkmark but added google.com and maps.google.com as exceptions and restarted Firefox. Google Maps still shows Wayne NJ and weather sometimes shows North Carolina but mostly shows Wayne NJ

Are there any other settings in Firefox I need to update? Or are there settings in Windows I need to update.? I'm using Windows 10 and Firefox 85.0

I have had messages go into the bulk mail file when I mark these as not junk they are automatically moved to my in box, but when the same person sends me a new email it goes into my bulk mail file. How do I stop this happening as these emails are important or alternatively how can I tell Thunderbird to use my email providers junk filters.

New to TB. When I login to my account my emails (read) remaining in the inbox from the previous day have disappeared. I leave messages in my inbox that I need to get back to later. I've checked my settings, as far as I know how to and searched all my folders but I can't find any of them. Archive and deleted items folders are empty. The trash folder contains the emails I have intentionally deleted but not those from my inbox from the previous day. I need help finding where they are going and how to set up my inbox so they are left there until I delete them? I've searched the knowledge base and the help search but can't find anything specific to this problem.

I have 4 email accounts for 4 different companies that operate out of the same office. I use Thunderbird for all of these emails and it's great for being able to check all of them at once for new emails. I had my folders mostly set up as sub folders under "Local Folders" Yesterday while attempting to create a new folder and have it a sub folder of my "local folders" all of the folders I had under "local folders" have disappeared. HELP, how do I get them back? It has all my important "keep" emails for 4 companies!!

When I opened thunderbird it displayed all three of my email accounts in the left hand column and their associated folders: inbox etc. The contents of the selected folder, such as the inbox of one of the three accounts would be displayed in the right hand pane (left and right relative to the viewer). So I could switch between say the inbox of account 1 and the inbox of account two by selecting the appropriate folder. I did something, however. and now all the folders have disappeared from the left hand side and I am forced to use >GO >FOLDERS to select the folder I want to see the contents of. This is enormously frustrating as the process of managing the three accounts used to be effortless. I have pressed every combination but cannot restore my original view. I would like to be able to see all of my accounts simultaneously again. Does anyone know what to do, please? Thanks Frank

Every 20 minutes or so I get a notification from Bitdefender Online Threat Prevention module indicated it has blocked a suspicious connection. This has only started about 2-3 days ago. The only information the popup indicates is:

"firefox.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an unmatching security certificate to gitcdn.xyz. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since the used certificate was issued for a different web address than the targeted one."

I performed a full system scan and found nothing harmful. Anyone know what this is or how I can fix it?

Pocket List Din drop-down menus has disappeared -

"Pocket List" has disappeared in the drop down menu under the "library" icon where it used to be not more than a few days ago. It's not under the Bookmarks icon, either.… (funda kabanzi)

"Pocket List" has disappeared in the drop down menu under the "library" icon where it used to be not more than a few days ago. It's not under the Bookmarks icon, either. the "Pocket" icon is in the menu bar, and I can save items to Pocket, but can no longer locate the page with the articles. "View List" does appear when you click the Pocket icon, but it also saves whatever page you're on whether or not you want to save it.

Always browsed in Private mode with Strict tracking controls. All sites worked, including videos. After update to 87.0, videos will not run on sites. I've added nothing else since the update and have not changed any settings. I would prefer to not go to "Standard" controls. Any help or advice out there for someone who is definitely not a computer guru??? Many Thanks!
