We want to roll out Firefox ESR 64-bit and maintain it. We have a product called SolarWinds patch manager. That has all the updates for regular Firefox quantum and ESR but only in 32-bit.

Since our patch manager application does not maintain a repository of ESR in 64-bit, we are forced to manually keep this rolled out and updated.

How are other organizations ensuring that a deployment of ESR 64-bit stays up to date with the latest security patches, automatically? If the browser does this automatically, then we need some URL's to add to our webfilter to ensure these updates are able to be downloaded by the client browser.

I opened a ticket with SolarWinds to inquire why they are not maintaining a 64bit version of Firefox 60.x.x ESR. I'm not sure what else to use for patch management yet as I have not had time to research alternatives.

I am running Selenium automated tests in Firefox. The problem is that, when running tests on Firefox, the browser is open in "Browser is under remote control" mode and then the session cookies are not kept when the browser is closed.

If I authenticate on my web app out of this "Browser is under remote control" mode, the ai_session cookie is kept as expected. It only is discarded when I am on that mode.

Taking that into account:

1. Is there a way to configure Firefox to keep session cookies even when running in the "Remote control" mode? 2. When configuring Selenium WebDriver, is there some option that allows me to force the browser to keep the session cookies?

I want to export my cookie permissions either through a WebExtension or a script outside of Firefox.

I'm looking at the `moz_perms` table in my permissions.sqlite, and I see three values for `permission` for entries of `type` "cookie":

  • 1: Keep cookies permanently
  • 2: Block all cookies
  • 8: Keep cookies for session

As I review the Firefox codebase, I see the following in nsIPermissionManager.idl:

 const uint32_t EXPIRE_NEVER = 0;
 const uint32_t EXPIRE_SESSION = 1;
 const uint32_t EXPIRE_TIME = 2;
 const uint32_t EXPIRE_POLICY = 3;

Obviously, that doesn't match up at all, so I'm probably looking at the wrong thing. I've been a user of Self-destructing cookies if that makes any difference.

Where can I find code or documentation on meaning of the `permission` field for entries of `type` "cookie" in the `moz_perms` table of permissions.sqlite? Is there a better or existing means of exporting cookie settings like this?

Hi, I'm developing some code in js , and use many functions in my file.js

I use FF Quantum v.63 on ubuntu 18.04 64 bit

In the Web Developer section, on the Debugger tab, when I set the break points and need to reload the page so I can run also the init functions, then the break point are lost, more precisely they are pointing the first line in file with the same code as the breakpoint was set.

for example: I have many lines as

var self = this;

when I put a break on a line like this, then when I reload the page, the break is pointing to the linenum 36 where there is the first code occurrence like I breakpointed.

On chrome, when I put the break for ex. to the line 1000, when reload the break is on line 1000!

I am a web application developer. My application is using open authentication. As part of the login process the application stores information in the session storage of the browser. Then the user is redirected to a login page. When, after a successful login, the user is redirected back, the information in the session storage is gone. The same problem when I use local storage.

This problem only occurs with the setting: Never remember history.

Is this a bug or a feature?

Other browsers do not have this behavior.

This may be a windows issue, but maybe Firefox can help being it is hard to get windows help. I used to be able to see my pictures from the pictures library in windows. But now when I access my pictures I see only icons for those pictures. Yes, I can see the picture when I click on a given icon, but I used to be able to see all the pictures, which I have many, when I just accessed my pictures and not the icons only. I can't figure out a way to get my picture viewing back when I access my pictures from the "my computer" portal and then access my picture library. Sort of frustrating when I want to see a certain picture and all I see are icons. Can someone help? Thank you.

When clicking on a link like this in firefox: phpstorm://open?url=file://C:\wamp\www\myproject\src\AppBundle\Controller\AppController.php&line=17

I am asked which .exe I would like to associate with this protocol, I choose phpstorm.exe.

But the app supposed to open the file (phpstorm) gives me the following error:

Cannot find file 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\phpstorm:\open?url=file:\C:\wamp\www\myproject\src\AppBundle\Controller\AppController.php&line=17'

The problem seems to be that the path is prepended with "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" How do I change this behaviour ? Thanks.

Any way to fire keypress on non-printable? Ver 65 is killing me.

Non-printable keys no longer fire keypress event.

Any way to over-ride? I know I need to reprogram with keydown(), but that's going to take some time.

Firefox 63.0.1 in Linux I'm looking for CSS code to make the folderTree in editBMpanel open with the folderTree already expanded, rather than click it hundreds of times per week... I've found everything about the panel, except how to make it automatically expand.

I mean the down arrow to the outside of the panel's UI, that gives access to scroll the whole bookmarks library. The button that has tooltip, "Show all the bookmarks folders."

I'm assuming this CAN be done w/ CSS. If not, that explains the trouble finding how.
