Since the last update of my Mozilla email on 5th Feb I can no longer prioritise an outgoing email or request an email received receipt or confirmation of when a message has been read. These functions have either disappeared or been rendered inoperable on my taskbar. What is the answer to get them back, as I find these particularly useful?

When someone send me a html-format email which usually includes some images like background picture or signature picture, etc, the thundbird can not show them in the email body in html. In contrary, it handles them as attachments with a strange file name like "D38CF7A7@FB9CB071.ADF80B60".

Since the extension file name can not be recognized by the OS, the file can not be open by default image software.

This problem exists for quite some time now. Sometimes when I download a PDF file, i cannot open it in Adobe acrobat via Firefox download "open". When i tap on "open" Firefox says there is no PDF viewer installed or it cant open the file. Although the viewer is installed and sometimes it works as it should. But some PDF files cant be opened. When I access them through my file manager i can open them without any problem.

Firefox Daylight on an up to date Samsung S10e. But same problem on Xiaomi Mi9 SE or Galaxy Tab S6 lite.

Today some websites are loading very slowly (e.g. PCMag home page takes 30 seconds to load). Some https sites load normally and others are slow. I refreshed Firefox, did not fix it. Is there something I can do?

I have been trying to help a client using Thunderbird who began getting 'Thunderbird is running' errors when starting it. This has been going on for a number of months. I have tried the delete parent.lock file, starting in safe mode, reinstalling, rebuilding mail data (has one gmail account imaped in it) but when I think it is fixed and leave her it happens again.

She only has one computer so I don't believe it could be from having two instances using the profile.

She thinks it started after a Windows 10 upgrade months back.

Side note, I was giving up and installed Office 365 for Outlook and the trial version wouldn't load her Gmail imap account (it is near 15 gigs of mail)

I am open to any suggestions as I clearly can't fix this myself.

Every 2 to 3 days sometimes longer, Firefox will randomly reset itself and close out all windows and tabs to a single window and different search engine. Restore last session is never available when this happens even though I have that selected and checked and it does work when I manually close out windows and tabs myself so i know that preference is selected. My search engine preferences are always reset and have to restore defaults as well. Mac os Big Sur 11.2

Thanks to anyone who can help me solve this sudden mystery. Long time user of firefox on macbook pro and mac towers.

Firefox always up-to-date MacBook Air (125 TB mem) always up-to-date (5 yrs old, otherwise working perfectly). Mostly browsing social media, blogs, newspaper articles. (video streaming causes no cache problems and are generally unaffected by slow Firefox performance)

If I'm not working and doing many hours of browsing daily, I have to clear my cache 5-6 times a day, after every couple of hours. In the older Firefox, this was easier because "cache" and "cookies" were separate actions, so in three clicks (preferences, cache, clear) I could be browsing again. But in recent versions, the clear cache is now a longer process (preferences, privacy, cache, uncheck cookies, clear), then I can get back to browsing. (This seems to be a trend with a lot of new software engineers, making steps longer instead of shorter, mind boggling.)

I've already read some "answers" here that claim that clearing the cache "should" not improve performance. This is silly. Thousands of us are constantly forced to manually clear our cache to be able to use Firefox. It's tiring, and gaslighty, but I continue with Firefox because I believe in the community principles of Firefox, but instead of improvements, every update just brings more and more dysfunction). Firefox's cache not self-managing is such a huge problem that there's a dozen extensions for cache clearing, but since my last Firefox reset, I can no longer find the one I liked, and the new cache clearing extensions don't perform so well, so it's back to preferences-manual-cache clear.

Symptoms: -Page loads slow or stall -Twitter feed bounces to top of page (even with accessibility-Reduce Motion-setting) -Facebook group members list page bounces to top -Facebook post history browsing slows to a crawl (made worse by fb having removed its time selection tools, so now to see a historical post, we must scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, and Firefox eventually just stalls out) -Logins fail That's when I head over to my cache, see it's above 400 or sometimes above 500, un-click cookies (which I sometimes delete too, any time the cookies are over 100, even though I'm set to minimal cookie retention, I delete all cookies older than a week), CLEAR CACHE, then Firefox performs correctly... for a couple of hours anyway.

In theory, Firefox cache is supposed to "self-clean" of the old stuff? but I have not seen that in practice. Since this is a problem for so many people, why doesn't Firefox create an easy button to clear only the content we want, instead of total wipe? (I also reset my Firefox entirely 3-4 times a year, but I hate doing this as so many preferences get lost)

Thoughts: It is like the code for the browser is missing, even though the software seems to load fine, like when you add a button on a form in visual studio but don't add any code behind it.

What I've tried: Fresh install x2 with the latest version

Installed version: 85.0.2 64bit

I entered the data of an account and it downloaded the mail that arrived, but it is no longer archived into the local folders and there is no longer any mail sent. How can I go about recovering this data? Are they still on my PC? For the last month or so. Perhaps since the last update or two. I can't login to my bank.

Details:

-I try it on Edge, and it works.

-When it fails, I get the bank website's standard failure error message: "Your username and/or password are incorrect. Please try again";

-I've repeatedly checked on the correctness of my ID & PW repeatedly over the last month;

-I use Norton PW manager, but I have back-up on a secure thumb drive. I try the PW using my backup, and it still fails;

-I try typing my ID & PW in manually, and it still fails;

-The only successful workaround on Firefox is to change my PW. Then I can login: once;

-I do have add-ons, but I deactivated all of them, restarted Firefox, and it still fails.

I've used Firefox for decades, but not being able to do simple banking is a strong argument for using Edge. Do you have a remedy or a suggestion for this?
