Hi,

Up until very recently, I've been able to download files without issue. Every time it'd ask "do you want to open or save?". It's no longer doing that, and instead saves them by default. How do I revert this back to asking what I want to do?

I am on Debian 11, Firefox 98.0.1.

Firefox reader mode only seems to render half the article I am currently on, example:

The reader view only renders up to "I think it’s a big challenge for them." but the actual article continues.

Is this a bug on my setup?

Just now, after a massive and catastrophic SUPER-MELTDOWN-crash that arbitrarily decided to absolutely murder my day, ALL my tabs and windows and ALL history of "Recently Closed" tabs and windows is gone!

THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!

What is the reason for the existence of a SYNC feature if it isn't to MAKE SURE that a record of open tabs and windows is SECURELY maintained no matter how many times the application crashes, so that AT ALL TIMES, this information is kept INTACT, regardless of the state of the end users device? That is BY FAR the most important part of the sync feature! Are you telling me that there is no backup process of that information?

This is the kind of thing I never expected from you guys at Mozilla. I've been using Firefox for MANY years because I trust what you do. Today that trust has been SEVERELY and BRUTALLY wounded, most likely beyond repair...

I need you to fix this...

I need you to recover that information for me and I need you to make sure that what just happened could never, ever happen again unless God himself caused every digital storage unit on earth to disintegrate.

Recently Firefox updated. It cleared all of my bookmarks and browser history isn't reloading my last session. I can get the bookmarks from Chrome. The big issue is how do I reintegrate Avast Passwords eol version? Without this I need to use Chrome which isn't my ideal choice.

I have a desktop and laptop both with FF installed and synced and they ALWAYS load identical. Yesterday I set up my my new desktop in my office and I installed FF and when I logged onto my account my FF stayed the default color. This never happened before, and as I turned and looked at my old desktop I saw that it too now had the wrong theme. So I went into my kitchen were I have my laptop set up (it just upgraded itself to win 11 and I am using it as a training tool) the FF on it was no longer appearing correctly.

I have since spent 30 some hours uninstalling/reinstalling FF/ deleting my profile, remaking my profile, re-deleting my profile and making another new profile using a different email and when I install FF on ANY OTHER pc it will not load correctly, especially themes and add ons.

What the hell is causing this and how do I fix it??

On every PC I used my Revo Uninstaller Pro to uninstall FF including file remnants and then meticulously scrubbed repeatedly each PC for any leftover registry and file remnants, and then I used my file eraser program to wipe all the file slack.

If this is going to be an issue why have FF ? I spend enough time now keeping Edge disabled and dont want my fav primary browser to become a "High Maintenance" browser having to spend time EVERY TIME I TURN ON MY PC fixing this, repeatedly. Its like having to add water to your cooling system every time you start up your car before you can use it.

Any help would be enormously appreciated.

The trouble shooting information below is for the first install tonight after getting home and making the newest profile and it is seemingly staying correct, the next install on my laptop is incorrect, it has one deleted theme installed yet is "using" the default theme and the correct theme I picked is not even showing.

It used to be that when I downloaded something, the icon would light up and I could click it to open if I wanted to, but now it pops open whenever I download something. This is very annoying as I often don't want to immediately open the folder that I downloaded to. How do I change this back to not opening automatically?

Hi all Wondering if you can help. Every time I try and turn my volume up or down a box appears (see screenshot) that relates to firefox. I have tried every which way to stop it happening. If anyone can help with this I'd appreciate it thanks L

I recently had to reinstall Firefox (now on 98.0.1 (64-bit)) to fix a problem with launching. In the process a lot of settings have been lost and the browser is refusing to check my spelling as I type. When I right click in this or other boxes there is no option relating to it. I have clicked and unclicked and reclicked the "Check your spelling as you type" box on settings to no avail. How can I get the spell check back?

I am on Lubuntu, and was trying to download something for a game I play, but when I went to download, it said I must have my ad-blocker disabled. I do not have any extensions. I even tried getting an ad-blocker that I can turn on or off for different sites, but it did not work.

After the latest update, I can't open Microsoft applications. I have to save them to a file. When I get an email with a Word or Excel file attached, I HAVE to save it. Before the update, the system always opened it so I could look at it first.

I went to settings and Applications, but in the window where it says, "Choose how Firefox handles the files you download from the web or the applications you use while browsing." There are no Microsoft options.

I was able to change the PDF docs to open rather than save, but I need to do the same thing with Word, Excel, PPT, etc.

Downloading email attachments fails with Firefox. OK with Explorer 11. This problem began four days ago. Please tell me how to fix this.

I searched but i could not find a working solution for me, to not sync the theme on my windows pc and mac laptop.

I tired to set services.sync.prefs.sync.lightweightThemes to false and services.sync.prefs.sync.extensions.activeThemeID to false, but it is still syncing.

Help would be much appreciated.

My school email is going to be disabled in a couple of months and I was wondering if there's a way to just change the email associated with my Firefox account, or if I'll have to make a new one and carry over my bookmarks/settings/addons etc. manually.

Recently before the new update I think, when I download something the download icon just turns blue which tells me that the download has finished.

But for some time now, when I download anything the download notification pops up like a window which I have to click something to make it disappear. I don't know why this is happening because I did not install any new add ons from before and after the thing happened. Is there a way to disable it? I don't know why it happened so suddenly but its so annoying because you have to close that notification before you can resume anything else.

Note: The pictures are what I see immediately after the download finished, I did not click anything for it to pop up.

When using firefox web browser to visit investors.com, I receive the attached image as the web page. I've been using this website on this browser for months and never had an issue until today.

I think I may have a ghost in my desktop. 2 events happen with firefox that have followed from a previous pc build. At seemingly random times if Firefox is open and the visible tab has text, as in is not a full tab video stream, all of the text and images will shrink in size and spacing. This is independent of the zoom function as it remains at 100. Zooming to make text larger again looks weird and bulky, refreshing the page however will restore it. This glitch happens even if another application has focus, even if it is fullscreen exclusive. I haven't been able to figure out what kind of shortcut, command, or addon might possibly be able to do this.

The drop-down mystery happens when the visible tab is a full tab stream. Again even if another application has focus, the download drop-down appears and stays until I click somewhere. I've only seen it appear once and it does not look like when I choose to click the drop-down button. The size of the drop-down changed a couple to several times, and I believe the first download item appeared to be highlighted in dark blue, something I can't reproduce with my mouse or keyboard, it only highlights a different color grey. This one makes me nervous as it could possibly be something activating a download and then immediately deleting it from history? I only just recently learned the the menu will appear automatically when downloading something.

I've tried reinstalling Firefox. I don't notice this on edge, though I only have to use it a fraction of the time. I've never noticed any extra commands or text appear that I didn't type or direct in other applications. This somehow shows up after a fresh windows 10 install, and have since replaced keyboard & mouse. I've tried leaving a keylogger over long periods and it never shows anything. I refuse to leave Mozilla, any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this far :)

I am having problems with doing downloads of any files from any website using Firefox. Every time, when I try to do a download, I get an error that the download failed. I am running Firefox 98.0.2 on a Windows 10 laptop. If I use Microsoft Edge, the download is successful. Any help would be appreciated.
