Other times also computer crashes inmedant shut off when I scroll with the mouse some times with to many tabs on page. Just leaves the power fan on. My computer ram is 704 mb. I have the search box set to Amazon and Ebay only. Suddenly "Search" which brings up results in Bing has infected itself in there and nothing gets rid of it, not removing it, Spybot, Malwarebytes. It always brings itself up to the top, only to be removed again. Once Firefox is refreshed, it manifests itself again. I'm aware I use an older browser; I simply prefer this over all the deletions that are constantly being made on upgrades. This only happened a few days ago. Thanks.

I noticed that after the last automatic update, the fields I had to type text in, had a lap in time, over and over. Very hard to keep typing. I tried deleting cookies/history, everything, had my Mallware going, I tried to go to the default of the Firefox, did not help. Today I brought my laptop to a specialized IT shop and the man there said that I was the second costumer with problems after the firefox update. AND I don't want to go back to Internet Explorer. Now I have an older version installed of firefox, of course Googlemail said 'do not like it that you have the older version' (different words of course, English is my second language) It cost me €75 to get it fixed, however I am very scarred to have the latest update that you might have in a few weeks/months, will the problem still be there, I do want to be updated with Firefox. I have no clue what automatically add means and for now I don't want to click on anything that might give me the last automatic update for firefox. Did you get more of these complaints? and have you fixed it? With regards, Astrid. I made sure that I have 'automatic updates' off

Good People, can anyone explain why my installation of Firefox (v3.0.1) on Windows 2000Pro has ceased (as of ~1st September) to connect thru https protocol? As for many years, all worked fine on 29th August but attempts to reach the same website on Monday, 1st Sept, yielded an error 'window' stating "ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap". Sites using the plain http protocol worked fine. I had not made any changes (in any part of the system) over the weekend. I used the installed copy of Kaspersky to check for malware and found "No threats detected". On the suggestion of the 'websites helpdesk' I tried typing the address (and not the bookmark used without failure over the years), but same result. Tests showed that a 'virgin' (not previously connected to the Internet) installation (Firefox3.0.1 on W2k, no KIS but on a different PC) gave the same result, as did a (separate 3rd PC) installation of Ffox3.0.1 on XP (and the native version of Internet Explorer also failed). Further, I found that (on the original PC) 3 more of my bookmarks using https failed with the same error report. Use of a friends system (Wndows 7 and native IE) showed that the website (of the original failure) was functioning OK. Comparison of settings showed that both (Ff3/W2k and Win7) used SSL3. Turning to this ('look see' trial) installation of Ubuntu 12.04LTS (with Girefox23.0 on my original PC) showed access was achievable, but I can not determine what settings are deployed. Whilst a migration (of OS and/or browser) is anticipated in the long term, a solution on my current prefernce (W2k & Kaspersky) is highly desired from functional, comfort and trusted security considerations, so any suggestions (known to solve the problem).

First, don't like to be forced to be updated..second,you used to be able to change the tabs position..I hit,"tabs on top"..in the bookmarks tab, thinking I could change back..WHAT A MISTAKE..Opera is a cool browser, that needs to be revisited..great sliding zoom feature too. My GF uses Comodo Dragon as her browser (almost too secure)..but if security is what really want at the expense of,yes some porn sites..:-( then go for it.
Firefox has crashed more times lately too. I still use it though for the adblock,so it has been relegated to one step above IE.
Don't like Chrome,"what's with the symbols..how about words?" dumb move.
Anyway thanks for letting me type, I am sure there is no simple answer to moving the tabs,by what I read..
Too bad for Firefox..its actually sad,P.S..was thinking about a Firefox phone, but that is no longer an option. At least with this problem,I am not out any money..
spent too much time. on your BS.. Comodo Dragon is secure, and Opera for porn.

Back when I upgraded from version 21 to 22, there were a few things that I didn't like, and one of the big ones was the DPI detection. I have Windows xp fonts set to large. But I want websites to show at a normal size. I design websites, and this is critical to me. But suddenly all websites were displaying comically large. I discovered instructions to go into about:config and change layout.css.devPixelsPerPx. I played with this some, and with it set to 1.0, the webpages were fine, but now the firefox navigation was microscopic. So I switched back to version 21 and stopped auto-updating.
Recently, I was on a firefox support page and saw a message telling me that my version of firefox has a security risk. With all the recent security issues, I figured maybe I should upgrade. But now the auto dps detection is back.
This is seriously annoying for me that they'd force this sort of a change on us. It's very Microsoft-like. I'm again falling back to version 21 and wondering if this will be my WinXP version of firefox. My question is - have they modified anything to allow the user to completely disable this detection mechanism and return it to pre-22 functionality in that regard?
I understand that engineers at Mozilla sit around looking for ways to make firefox better, but they've got to understand that for most of us, it's not a hair style or a party dress that we're bored with. We don't want a new look. It's a tool that allows us to look at web sites. Sure, make it faster, give us options for change if we'd like to go that direction, but don't make us have to re-learn how to do everything.
