Is it true that IMAP has a Spam folder but POP does not ?
I have been using POP for years, but I recently bought a second computer and set the email account to use IMAP. I am horrified to see that IMAP seems to have a Spam folde… (funda kabanzi)
I have been using POP for years, but I recently bought a second computer and set the email account to use IMAP. I am horrified to see that IMAP seems to have a Spam folder as well as a Junk folder and that there was stuff in it that, from my point of view, was not spam. Can POP not see this Spam folder at all ? Perhaps I should switch my older computer to use IMAP ?

Running Thunderbird 68.1.1 on a new Windows 10 build and it won't automatically check email. I have checked and unchecked and rechecked the "check for new messages" boxes in Account Settings > Server Settings to no avail. Also, its inability to check emails on startup means that it won't open in my inbox, I have to manually click to there every time. I have also tried installing the "Manually Sort Folders" add-on but that doesn't seem to be working either (no new item has appeared in tools menu and there seems to be no other way to interact with it)
All downloads fail after 69.0.2 update
Downloading files worked fine before this update.

I am planning to move from the stock Mail application to the Thunderbird application. Although setting up the accounts was not an issue, I am having trouble trying to get Thunderbird to access the contacts from the Contacts application.
I checked to ensure that “Use Mac OS X Address Book” is enabled, and I expected that macOS would then ask me to allow Thunderbird to access the contacts, but macOS does not ask me, and as a result Thunderbird cannot access and synchronise the contacts from the Contacts application.
I can also confirm that there are no Thunderbird-related entries in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Contacts, which means that macOS is not automating the requests.
I can also confirm that macOS’s permissions system is working, because it asked me if Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019 can access my photos.

I've recently changed web hosts and have set up the new email accounts on TBird v46 - the latest available for 2 old iMacs running 10.6 The setups were done automatically because for some reason I couldn't do a manual setup. On Computer A, TB opens fine without asking for the password each time. On Computer B, TB asks for the password each time and I can't find where I can tell it to remember the password now it is set up. Hope someone can help with this very old version. Thanks

Firefox 69.0.2 is no longer able to load any web page since some time after updating to macOS10.15.
The Mac itself is connected to the Internet and I can do emails and Safari just works fine.
But FIrefox cannot connect to anywhere and show "The connection has timed out". I have tried Refreshing, Safe mode, and re-installation after removing the profile folder under Application Support. None of them worked.
Is this only me? Is there a fix?

After I have manually added Thunderbird 68 (Ubuntu 18.04.3, 64-bit) I realized there are only two extensions I can use: Lightning and Enigmail.
The official add-on site for Thunderbird doesn't contain compatibility option for 68. Just curious, shall I from now on to do without certain useful features (examples: remove duplicate messages, custom IMAP folders order).
It's very sad to see the addons site that knows nothing of version 68. As if no one is aware of its release.

I have been trying for weeks to solve this problem and figure out how it happened but I cannot download any type of file on Google Drive on Firefox and it's been bothering me. I have cleared my cookies, cache, history, saved logins, restarted on private browsing, changed numerous settings and deleted and reinstall Firefox and Abode Flash. Nothing has worked. I even deleted McAfee protection in case it was a firewall problem but that didn't work either.
I'm only having this problem on my HP laptop and on this browser. Downloading google drive files works on my Dell Laptop through any browser.
If anyone has any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to solve it, I would be very grateful. I provided a screenshot of the error every time I try to download a file.

i've already tried all of the fixes stated here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-download-or-save-files and i've tried logging out my mozilla account and downloading, i've tried starting firefox in safe mode without any add-ons, i've tried pretty much everything i can think of. no matter what the download fails and a 0kb file is created instead. when i try to download a webpage i get a 0kb html file and a folder containing all the contents of the html file, also i can download images perfectly fine even though it says they fail. i've tried downloading multiple types of files and it's not just webpages, .zip files fail, .exe files fail, everything that isn't a photo fails. the only other thing i can think of is .pdf files do a similar thing to html files, where a 0kb .pdf is created and a .pdf.part file is created the size of the actual pdf. also i've tried downloading using other browsers (excluding chrome, because it crashes my pc on startup) and they've worked perfectly fine, firefox and firefox nightly are the only programs having this issue.

I have tried to create one for folders only and for messages only.
How can I revert to the version of Thunderbird prior to this latest, 60.9.0? Calendar isn't working.
