Hi Im writing this post from my kids laptop but the problem is with my computer. I was in the middle of something when computer froze and it is now dead. I was able to check if I can access files from live cd and yeah I can see my files but I need to reinstall windows7. When I do it I will loose my files. I need to recover few more things than just files. The question to you is... how can I recover all my tabs, my open session, all logins, passwords etc in Firefox?. Im hoping it is stored somehow deep in windows and I can just copy/paste these files to new reinstalled windows7

Hello,

I'm not sure when it started, maybe a week ago. When I open firefox, I'm logged out of "most" of my accounts sometimes. I'll log back in and it will last a few browser closing and reopenings. Some websites seem to log out quicker, or it's possibly just random.

I've been using Firefox for a very long time and I've never had an issue like this. It's frustrating because I have to go through 2-factor each time a website logs me out. And so far, it hasn't happened to Discord in browser. It affects Gmail, Hotmail, Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit.

I did not change any settings recently until after it started happening (I set "Enhanced Tracking Protection" to standard thinking it would help but it hasn't).

Thank you.

I'm ising Firefox on a Windows 10 machine. Lately any time I open a new window it insists on opening several dozen tabs from previous sessions. I cleaned the cache. No change. I rebooted. NO change. I uninstalled it using an installer (Revo) that supposedly checks for all kinds of leftover files. I then rebooted. I saw no signs of it on my machine. I downloaded a fresh copy and installed from scratch. When I open the initial page it's fine. As soon as I open a new page all the old things are back in a gazillion little tabs. It's kind of annoying. Not to mention the time it takes to close everything by hand.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I keep a link to Firefox on my Windows 10 taskbar for easy access.

Periodically, the link icon changes to the icon for a different app on my computer, and the link no longer works - Windows asks me if I want to remove the broken link when I click on it. I remove the link, go to the Start menu and pin the Firefox link to the taskbar again. Then at some point - as soon as a few minutes later or as long as a few days later, it happens again. Sometimes it happens while I am using Firefox, but I don't know if this is always the case because sometimes I just notice it when I go to open it for the first time in a session.

This has persisted over many Firefox upgrades, and is extremely frustrating. No other app on the computer exhibits this behavior.

Any thoughts?

I inadvertently created a duplicate of my Bookmarks Menu, the folder of which now resides at the bottom of my Bookmarks toolbar. I sometimes accidentally open it when the original is already open, and that creates confusion. I'd like to simply delete the duplicate folder -- is there any way to do that?

"Shrink page to fit paper size" does not work printing .pdf files ("Letter" 8-1/2 x 11 paper, or any other size). In the document I am trying to print, only the upper 3/4 of page is printed on full paper page (remainder does not carry over to next page). Width is correct. Full page will print if 80% reduction is chosen, but reduction is not in same proportion as paper page. Windows 7. Firefox 82.0.2. Read numerous articles and posts. Nothing works. Printer is Brother HL-2270DW connected via USB. Using about:config > print :

    print.printer_HL-2270DW_USB.print_paper_data The value is "1"
    print.printer_HL-2270DW_USB.print_shrink_to_fit The value is "true"
scaling is .8 (tired 1.0 without success)

All other "print" keys are as described in numerous Google items on this topic. Right now I can only save the document as a .pdf, and then open in in Adobe DC that is installed on same computer. Document prints correctly. This is a pain. I read in one Google post that starting with version around 55 Firefox no longer uses Adobe plug-in for pdf files, but switched to its own plug-in - it is clumsy, and as in this situation it does not work. PLEASE go back to using Adobe plug-in.

Hi All,

Several times I've cleared my cache and managed to also delete ALL of my logins. I most certainly do uncheck the box for "Cookies and Site Data", leaving only "Cached Web Content" checked and it still deletes all info. Also whenever I go back in that page, both are (again) checked.

What am I doing wrong?

Is there a way in "about:config" to default this area to "Cached Web Content" only?

My older Samsung printer also runs a web server at its LAN address for administering it.

I've always been able to login from other computers on my local network to check toner, see page counts, and so on.

There is no "force Firefox [v. 82] to connect via HTTP" in my case.

Every single attempt to access http://192.168.0.100 is rewritten by the browser to https://192.168.0.100 which I gather requires a certificate to be presented--which the old printer does not offer--after which Firefox declares "Try again."

Is there a way around this so I can get back to what used to work?

Thank you.

I use Firefox for work. I generally have several tabs open, including Outlook, Yahoo mail and Facebook. It seems most of the problems come with Facebook. I constantly get the yellow bar across the top saying "A Web page is slowing down your browser." I have tried restarting in safe mode, disabling add-ons and so on. I don't know a lot of the nitty gritty of getting into fixing the slowness and crashes it also causes, so I'm asking for some clear help for a non-programmer.
