I’m trying to set my Firefox homepage to be https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random so I can see a new wiki page every time I open Firefox on my phone (Apple 14.) Alas it defaults to whatever page I have open when I try to do so.

I can no longer use roboform or eversync in the new extension button. this is a deal breaker and I have used firefox for the past 20 years or so. the problem is both these addons do not give me the option to pin to the toolbar. I need to do this to use their functions. Help!!!! I am using version 114

After the latest update, "synced tabs" suddenly appeared in my history menu above Recently Closed Tabs. I don't use syncing of any sort so this is just a nuisance. How can I get rid of it?

(After the hacker attack we had to restore the encrypted mail from an older backup) The IMAP profile has been restored from backup, msgFilterRules.dat set as before backup, but incoming mail subject to filters remains in INBOX. But when manually running any filter, it moves particular message to the target folder. I've searched dozen of messages at support.mozilla.org for relevant topics, but my problem is not described.

The pattern of the rule that does not work: name="[rule name]" enabled="yes" type="17" action="Move to folder" actionValue="imap://account.name@mail.domain.cz/INBOX/existing destination folder" condition="AND (all addresses,contains,name@domain.cz) AND (all addresses,doesn't contain,my.name)"

All my colleagues on the same domain, with IMAP accounts, have this problem. TB 102.11.2 (64-bit) WIN 10

I want to enable search suggestions, thus I enabled it from Settings >> Search >> Provide search suggestions (all 4 boxes are ticked). Furthermore, in about:config, I have the following parameters set to true:

• browser.search.suggest.enabled
• browser.urlbar.quicksuggest.allowPositionInSuggestions
• browser.urlbar.quicksuggest.enabled

I even downloaded the DDG extension, yet despite all that, nothing gets suggested. Just the history.

This is the case for many search engines I tried (DDG, startpage, Brave, SearXing).

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong, I've tried everything.

The 'Open in App' button is missing in the overflow button.

I'm using Firefox beta for testers on Android. Version 115.0b3

I have bought a new pc with Windows 11 home pre-installed and set Mozilla Firefox latest version as default browser ...the issue i am having is placing add-on extension shortcut icons on toolbar. I installed Norton Safe Web and this installed ok and is listed in extension control panel and when i click puzzle icon Norton Safe Web is not shown under manage shortcuts nor can i see option to Pin to Toolbar. Have tried several attempts but still get nowhere.I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox...restarted pc ... did a fresh install of Mozilla Firefox without altering any settings..re-installed Norton Safe Web and still cannot see option to Pin to Toolbar.Clicking the gear icon does not help Have i missed a step somewhere ?

I have no usable Menu options at the top of the Thunderbird email screen. I hit a wrong key yesterday and things such as Write, Reply, Print, Send, Delete, Junk, etc. have disappeared. I read some possible things to help but I do not have III on the upper right of my screen and pressing Alt when opening Thunderbird also does not work. HELP!

if i have the "clear cache" addon: and i have 2 browser instances open, when i clear the cache, does it clear both instances or just the one whose button i clicked ?

I have a lot a devices. I would like the majority of settings/etc to be synced with my account but I would also like to be able to have some add-ons excluded. For example I use Persepolis download manager for the devices that support it but not all my devices support it. Result is I have to toggle active addon every time I switch devices as it syncs.

I'm trying to use the, "*", "%", "^", in my browser bar. What exactly do these do? After entering the shortcut I get a "Tab" or "History" button that shows up in the search bar and then after hitting enter nothing happens. Isn't this feature suppose to search inside all my open tabs and my History? Nothing happens after I hit enter.

at the very top of firefox browser are 3 rows...the highest row is the list of open tabs.....the middle row is the address bar itself with various icons....the lowest row which is the third row begins with 'import bookmarks' 'getting started' and then various website suggestions.

that 3rd row takes up space and has no useful functionality for me .....i've tried changing the settings but i can't alter it... is there a harmless way to eliminate that third row? thanks

I have many addons and some add a context menu with specific options. One that I often use is "Copy Plain text". Can it be moved upwards, can the order of the context menu list of options for addons be customized?

Does or will Thunderbird provide capability for Contact Group Lists and Contact Sub-Folders as does Microsoft Outlook, which I am looking to replace? Thanks in advance.

I have just read that TB's policy is to delete messages in the trash after a certain amount of time.

I'm not sure what policy they follow for this, as the Activity Manager says "Deleted 1 message fom Trash", but does not let you know what msge was deleted. When I look at my trash, I can see I have things from YEARS ago, so I'm wondering what they follow to have things deleted.

However, in the end, I don't really like that TB deletes things even in my trash. I get this is to save space, but I personally do not care about space, and I use my emails like a database where I have saved myself from looking back into my trash and remembering something I failed to do for instance. Or even something I accidentally deleted and found it again.

Anyway, The fact that there is a setting in Account Settings -> Synchronization & Storage -> Do not delete any messages and TB still deletes the trash it its own discretion sucks.

I love TB and want to use it forever. Is there a place I can voice this to them and ask they provide an options to not deleted anything on any folders. Or maybe prompt to delete something first, show us what that email is.

I get I can create another folder, but I'm much happier just hitting the delete button, but know that this email will linger somewhere in another folder...

The one big problem I have regularly with Thunderbird is losing important messages because they are hidden away in a thread. Even if I have marked them with a star this doesn't help them to be visible in my inbox. Instead I am having to guess at a suitable search term to find these messages (often support from Email addresses I do not normally correspond with). I realise I can (in theory) switch threading off (although this didn't seem to actually work for me), but I otherwise like the feature - once I have found the message, it's great to see the thread.

I would like to be able to show threads in a different colour to make them stand out in my mailbox - I realise there is a small grey symbol against threads, but this isn't very visible and doesn't seem to help.

One other possibility that might be even better, is to expand threads with unread messages, but I couldn't see a way to do this either.

I use Thunderbird as my RSS reader, it actually works really well, thanks Thunderbird.

However, I have one nagging annoyance. The message pane on the main page reloads if i open a new tab, actually all the tabs reload when i open a new tab.

For example, my RSS loads youtube videos in its original page, I open one in a tab, click on another, that previous tab has now unloaded, reloads when i next click on it. Is there anyway to keep the message pane and the tabs loaded, rather than reloading every time?

Any help would be amazing thank you.

How do I stop firefox from preventing my mac from shutting down? All other open apps are closed and data and settings saved automatically by apple when i hit shut down but firefox just stays open and prevents shutdown until i close it manually.
