Every time I restart Firefox my search engine reverts back to yahoo, how do I fix this permanently. I only want to use google to search for things it is much more efficient. Is there some firefox connection to yahoo that is causing this?

When I click on PDF links Firefox tries to save them instead of opening them. This is so even though in "Options" under "Applications" I have all Adobe files set to "Use Adobe Reader".

In Internet Explorer, I have BACK and FORWARD arrows when searching the internet, such as in checking out a site like Walmart.com for a catalog item, but in Mozilla, I can't seem to go back to a previous page without losing the entire program. There MUST be a secret that I am missing..... Help!

The Silverlight plugin crashes whenever I try and watch a video on Netflix. I'm using Vista 64-bit, and I'm running the most recent update of Silverlight. This is a persistent problem for me (i.e. I've been unable to watch Netflix in Firefox, including the most recent stable releases).

When I try to access my gmail account, Firefox says "the page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept

   cookies."

I've tried removing cookies, preventing firefox from accepting cookies, and restarting Firefox in safe mode. The best I can get is the log in page, but once I enter my information, I get the same message again. Any suggestions?

Where does Mozilla Firefox saves the files from add-ons? Don't know if it is from Windows update or from Firefox update, but my add-ons settings keeps on resetting and I lose a lot of data from them because of that. And if I know where Firefox saves those files, then I can make a backup for them.

How do I prevent firefox from using HTML5 player in youtube and use flash player instead? I am not sure what advantage HTML5 has over Flash. I noticed that Flash plays smoother than HTML5 and there is also a difference in quality of the video at low resolution. HTML5 does not seem to have smooth streaming compared to Flash. I may be wrong and I am ready to learn the advantage of HTML5 over Flash. But until then I wish to revert FF to its previous behavior of playing in flash.

If there is no way of bypassing this player (html5), how do I set it to ask before I allow it to play the video? I dislike videos playing automatically as soon as I open the link or any websites (reason why I set Flash player to 'ask to activate').

I'm getting this odd error with the standard install of FF since the last few updates every time I try to load FF (even starting up with a blank page) or open a new tab. Tried a fresh profile .. same result. Completely uninstalled FF & deleted the existing profile, then installed again ... ditto. Ran in FF safe mode .. ditto. Disabled hardware acceleration .. ditto. Scanned for nasties (ESET) .. nothing. Installed the latest portable version .. worked fine. Copied the old profile into the portable version .. worked fine. So what could be causing the installed version to give the 'Gah ..' error, both on starting up FF & opening a new tab, but not affect the same FF portable (same version)? The system is an ASUS laptop Win7Pro 32-bit. It's my wife's pc and she uses IE (gasp), so it's not a life or death situation. I'll use FF portable & update now & then unless there's a fix??? One final observation - the first time FF is run after an update or a fresh install, it oddly works then, but shut FF down & restart it .. and all I get is "Gah.." - Gah indeed!

For the past week or so I have been unable to play any Netflix videos in Firefox. Netflix works fine in other browsers and all other video streaming sites I've tried in Firefox still work. Initially the problem was that I would just get stuck on the red loading circle, however, after updating Firefox to the latest version (version 53), I now get an error message on Netflix telling me to check I have the latest version of Firefox, with an error code, F7702-1003. A solution posted from about a year ago involving changing the path in profiles.ini did not help, nor did removing pluginreg.dat.

I would be grateful for any assistance.

So I'm getting a error "Your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available" and when clicking the link, it says H.264 and MSE & H.264 are not supported. I used to get the black error screen for a split second before the video would blink and (I'm guessing) select another player and just play normally. Today is the first day that I've had this screen permanently displayed and it only shows up for a few videos. I can watch other videos on the same channel, just one or two that have the error.

It's the same if I try it in Safe Mode or with a new profile. I updated Firefox to 49.0, updated java, updated windows media component, and tried it with "media.windows-media-foundation.enabled" true and on false. No changes

I'm at my wits end with this one! I can watch the videos just fine in Chrome, but would much rather prefer to continue to use firefox as my default browser. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

First Firefox was working, but now every time I try to open it I get this message:

Closing a FF4 session with multiple tabs, I am not asked to save tabs and so they don't redisplay upon restart.

In Tools-Options-Privacy I have unchecked Remember my browsing history Clear history when Firefox closes

The other options there are checked.

In Tools-Options-Tabs I have checked Warn me when closing multiple tabs.

Are my settings incorrect? Basically I want any open tabs to be reopened across sessions, but I don't want any other history to be retained.

Uploading to GD using Firefox works..MS Edge and Chrome download fine...reinstalled and refreshed Firefox..tried troubleshooting tips for download problems per Mozilla help page and community forum..no MIMEtypes folder exists in my profile folder..any suggestions?

I want to prevent pop ups, pop unders, etc. Literally not one answer was appropriate, so I am rephrasing the question. I want firefox to simply not even acknowledge the request to open ANY new window or tab from the html code, website, server etc. I don't even want it to alert me that is hasn't acknowledged the request to open a new window or tab. I don't EVER want to see a firefox window or tab or instance that I haven't directly caused via mouse or keyboard input, and I want it to be COMPLETELY transparent. How do I do that? (I don't care if the answer is long or technical.)

When open a new tab, using "+", I want Firefox to open blank page. But it shows all my visited websites from browsing history. "Blank page" is with pictures-hyperlinks of those webpages! How to get normal blank page without pictures-hyperlinks of browsing history without deleting all of browsing history?
