I have been a TB user for years. Recently, many problems. Today (for the first time) I can't even launch the program. One I got the error "Cannot open XXCOM" where I used XX for letters which I can't remember. Then I tried again and got a breakpoint error: "(0x0000003) occurred in the application at location 0x000000006D809898"

I use the mobile version of Mozilla firefox and it choose to "remove" the open in other app feature for certain apps.

If I open youtube.com mozilla would ask to "open in other app" as an option instead of just opening it in the browser, youtube, twitter/X, reddit, etc. are fine, but for certain apps such as Pixiv and Patreon the option just dissapeared entirely, not even in the tripple dots at the bottom right does this option appear, can anyone help?

I've recently started migrating to Thunderbird after relying on Gmail's web client for a long time, and an issue I'm running into is that it's missing a bunch of contacts after syncing, including all contacts with my own name. This is a practical issue as I send email to myself a lot, both between my accounts and to the same account as a form of task management.

I have a primary contact entry representing my @gmail.com address itself, which also has a couple other personal non-gmail addresses merged into it, as well as about half a dozen contacts created for my addresses at former employers, university accounts, etc. Not a single one of them has synced, and they don't seem to have anything in common other than bearing my name. Contacts for other people sharing my forename also don't seem to have synced, and neither has as a contact representing another former work email that wasn't named, but included my name in the address itself.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why these would all be skipped. They don't seem to have any other special characteristic. I haven't, thus far, found other contacts not synced, but with over 200 entries on the list, I might well have missed them.

Thunderbird Version 115.9.0 I have been using Message filters for many years without a problem. Recently my email provider, Cox, switched all email to Yahoo. The emails remained the same but had to change to Yahoo servers. All of this works fine receiving and sending emails. The only thing I notice is the emails download slower. The Filters now do not work all the time, I run them manually and some still don't work. If I go to the filter and click edit, don't change anything and exit and then run it manually it's works but doesn't work the next time. I wait until all email is downloaded and then manually run the filters, some work and some don't all the time. Thanks for any help. Ray Mulkey, Ray.Mulkey@cox.net.

I have 8 employees but one central email address. All 8 of my employees have their own computer but when I tag a specific email with a name (and colour) of one of them, some of the ther computers can see the tags others can't. What I am doing wrong?

I have noticed that my mouse becomes unresponsive exclusively when clicking Browser items in Firefox 124.0.2 (64-bit) on Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1

usually everything is fine for a while, then after a small working period I can still hover over items in Firefox but any click action (right or left) is ignored by Firefox or pages in Firefox.

At the same time clicking in other apps is still working fine.

When restarting firefox the functionality often re-occurs and works again for a certain time.

I'm coming over from Apple Mail where I'm used to seeing a two-line preview of the message in the Message List of the Inbox. Is this feature not available in Mac Supernova ver. 115?

Actually my problem was solved. It came from the fact that following a maintenance intervention on the servers of the https site where my account was located, and access to which was blocked by Mozilla, the automatic updating of certificates had not worked. Which the site technicians resolved following a request I sent to them.

In the received message pane, unread messages are in a bold font, but, after reading a message, the font does not change back to a normal un bolded font. I have looked at every setting I can think of and I cannot get this to work the way it did in version 102. I am currently on 115.9 ,but, I may revert back to version 102 which worked without any problems. Can you help me resolve this problem?

I used Malwarebyte scan to check for my digital footprint and it showed Firefox , spotify and another program , it also identified one password that was out there ! Does this mean that Firefox on my PC/Phone is insecure ? or are they trying to get me to use their software ?

I am using Firefox on Mac - I usually minimize instead of closing - It has started making a TAPPING NOISE I thought it was my computer - but It now has happened to 3 different computers and one is brand new - T T T T TTT , I have narrowed it down to Firefox, when I minimize it will do it, then opened and it stopped and min. then start, repeeat - now it does the TTTTT all the time with it open or minimized. What is going on?

I have windows 11 and the firefox 124.0.2 browser. I cannot update to the latest version of Firefox. I receive an error message "failed to update". I've uninstalled and reinstalled the browser, ran the install utility selecting update, nothing seems to work. Please help

'Vanishing Menu BarBar' Mac OS system is set to NEVER hide menu Bar, yet both Thunderbird and Firefox hide the menu bar, they are the only applications I have that do this. the posted solutions DO NOT EXIST in Mac OS 14.4.1. The posted solution says to customize and then go to a menubar drop down, but in both apps there is NO such menu item. There is a menu item for the tool bar, which I have ON, but not for the menubar. So what gives?

Since a recent UPDATE, there are NO emails showing in the SENT BOX, or any of the FOLDERS including an important one labeled TAX RECEIPTS!!! The only boxes which show emails are the INBOX and the DRAFT BOX. After depending on Thunderbird for 20 years, I now have to use WEBMAIL. OH DEAR, Can you please help me. I am a nearly 80 year old grandmother who wants to email her grandchildren in GERMANY. PLEASE HELP!!

My Thunderbird stopped receiving emails. I am on a Mac. I am posting here because I looked through the list here. Others had the same problem but the conversation is now archived. I tried the offered solutions and they didn't work. So having just fixed mine, I'm posting my solution. Go to System Settings. to Passwords. Unlock Passwords by signing in. There you find your email service listed. Click on it and check that that password matches the password on your account on your email services website. If it doesn't, fix it. Then open Thunderbird on the menu bar at the top, go to Settings ( not Account Settings.) Go to Passwords, to Saved Passwords, click on that and it will show you a list of your saved logins. Below the list, you can click on Show Passwords to see what's there. I had a bad password in there. (I had more than one password that had been saved for Thunderbird.) I deleted all Thunderbird passwords. Then I closed and reopened Thunderbird, clicked Get Messages, filled in the correct password when asked. Bingo. My email downloaded into Thunderbird.

I'm currently using Thunderbird version 115.9.0. For the last several months when I detach, delete or save an attachment, Thunderbird will duplicate the email. I then manually delete the duplicate.

This didn't happen the first several years I used Thunderbird. Is there some setting I missed? Any solution to prevent this from happening?
