Ever since the latest update, the picture-in-picture function stopped working properly. If I activate it, the video will automatically go to full screen, and I need to press the full screen button multiple times to move it down to a small box. I am using Firefox on a Mac laptop.

I normally open messages in tabs under exactly one circumstance: when I right-click on a message and explicitly open it in a tab.

I've found that (until I changed the handling of PDFs to "Save file") any PDFs that opened using Thunderbird's preview function would reopen if I closed and relaunched Thunderbird. This is not desired behavior.

I will also note that if I open Settings, it opens in a tab, rather than a separate window. This is neither expected nor desired (and my natural reaction is to click the close button on the window, closing Thunderbird, because "Settings" is something I expect to be in a window, not a tab. And that, too, reopens if I reopen Thunderbird.

And worst of all, those tabs that shouldn't be reopening at all are reopening in front of the main tab.

There was an extension called "Thunderbird-DontRestoreTabs," that would do exactly what I want, but that was made obsolete when the underlying extension technology was deprecated, so it is of no use in 115.9.0.

Sorry, posted recently and had then trouble finding out how to respond to help offered (jscher2000)! Noticed that the email version was "no-reply" so I didn't figure that would work! So, I tried to 'cut and paste' my reply (on a smartphone) and I ended up losing even the email reply text so here is a reconstruction. I tried the suggestions in order and the first one didn't have a "Restore previous session" option and the second one had "Recently closed windows" greyed out! And, when I entered "about.support" in the address bar (top rightish), I received a notice that I couldn't reach Google (Remember that I don't currently have internet access on my laptop). So, no joy there either! Can I not just change some current setting to prevent Firefox v 115.9lesr from saving the current 'Windows' and Tabs so that, when I again open Firefox, the previous session 'Windows' and Tabs would be used?!?

It is annoying that search executes immediately instead of triggering on enter keypress, especially when a web page is big. Is there any way to disable auto-search and trigger it only when you press enter?

I currently have a 'bad/rouge' session of Windows 7 Firefox (don't really know how that happened) open (7 'Windows', each with one empty Tab plus 1 'Window', with only 1 populated tab (Yahoo Mail)! I need to close Firefox in order to restart my laptop (strange things have been happening, including not being able to access the internet)!! On restarting, I want to be able to open Firefox with the previous session I had with my 8 'Windows', each with dozens and dozens of Tabs! Please help, I sorely need those many 'Windows' and Tabs!!!

I want to export mails only of a certain mail account (I have got 6). I would like not to export ALL accounts in ONE zip file but I want to have different zips. Is that possible? Why do I want that? I am active in 3 different organisations and I have a private account and - it can almost not be avoided - a google mail account. So when I look for a certain mail I know which zip I have to import and to look for it. Years ago I used MS outlook and I had the possibility to create archives as defined for each account and - if necessary and wanted - for each year. Is this also possible in Thunderbird? If yes HOW? In Firefox Android, Could you add an option to disable the display of the message "Entering Full Screen Mode" when entering a full screen mode for a web app such as an online video player? I find it annoying because I can clearly see that the video player is in full screen mode and the message just blocks whatever I'm trying to view in the video player like the subtitles of a video.

Hi, since I use a set of different browsers for different tasks, it would be great if there was an easy way of opening links from within thunderbird emails to your browser of choice. E.g. via right mouse button: Open Link in ... I use that method in other applications frequently.

Every time i go onto a site like YouTube, Chess.com, ChatGPT etc, it asks for my login each time and i know there is a setting for it to remember me so i do not have to log into my account every time i use the site but I have looked everywhere and still fail to see it. Where about can i turn this setting on so i do not have to sign into my profile to use the relevant site. Thank you.

I just started using Firefox again this week and I'd like to know if there's any option or add-on for Firefox mobile to have better video playback control like Samsung Internet with (video assistant) or an option to open with an external player, I've looked but can't find any way to have better playback controls. I love Firefox and want to keep using, but this is a huge feature for me.

The 'add "outlook.live.com" as an application for mailto links' keeps popping up continuously after I click to X to delete the banner message. How do I disable it? Firefox should have a "don't remind me again" option. I do not want to add mailto links or make any changes. Thank You!

I am running Thunderbird 115.10.1 on an up-to-date Windows 11 machine. I have 2 email accounts (VirginMedia and Gmai)l. When I look at the drop-down list from the top-level folders on these accounts the VirginMedia account does not offer "New Folder", but the Gmail account does. I can create new folders via the VirginMedia webmail, but not via Thunderbird. This is a problem which I have had for some months, coping with it by resorting to webmail.

Firefox for Android does not follow system theme changes i.e. dark to light.

Discovered on Samsung Galaxy A22, Android 14 and Firefox 124.2.0

Steps to reproduce:

1. Configure Android to automatically switch themes. For Samsung Galaxy this is Settings - Dark Mode Settings - Turn on as scheduled
2. Wait until Android toggles theme from dark to light.
3. Notice Firefox has a black border.
4. Go into Application info for Firefox and force stop, then reopen
5. Now notice it doesn't.

When I activate a quick filter (like "Show only unread"), a count of the number of messages is added to the right end of the filter bar. This means all the buttons move to the left, so I have to move the cursor toggle it off again. This is incredibly annoying and unintuitive.

Is there a way to modify this behavior so that toggle buttons don't move when they're pressed?
