Not much else to say. The bad password is over 50 characters long and I have no idea where it came from. I know what the good password is. the password is for yahoo smtp. My thought was to just delete yahoo smtp and let yahoo re-install but don't know if that's the answer.

I am running with ubuntu 22.04

Hello: I have just set up a new desktop PC. Have downloaded/installed Thunderbird email program (used previously with old PC). Entered manual configuration using Spectrum server settings, user name (email) for Incoming Server and Outgoing Server. Had to attempt to process manually several times, and then suddenly everything popped up....all my previous emails were there, although my address book was gone. EVERYTHING worked yesterday (10/18) from that point through shut down later in the evening. Suddenly today, I start rebuilding my address book, and was trying to send message. Processing message and "sending" was taking very long, and finally error message pops up saying "Message can't be sent due to Outgoing Server timing out." Incoming Server and receiving messages appears to be fine...no issues there...successfully receiving emails. I've gone back and checked my settings on Outgoing Server...they are same as I entered yesterday.... Although the port listed 587 has a "default" port number listed to the right as "465" ..... the number of the port and the default (993) on the Incoming Server match. Is this the problem? There's no way to change/edit the 465. Is this a systemic issue? I see several other posters with problems with Outgoing Server/stmp issues. Judy Gamble

The translate button is no longer there in the site bar. It used to be there and was able to translate a page as i go, but it does not appear anymore.

If I open a normal firefox window then run "firefox.exe -private-window mozilla.org google.com" it will open mozilla.org in a new private browser window and google.com in the existing standard browsing window. I have tried every combination of -private, -private-window, and -url that I can think of, but to no success.

I am happy to write a fix for this if you can confirm the defect and provide a bug number :)

A virus file, from a website, keeps automatically downloading each time that I open my Firefox browser. I have tried clearing the cookies and history but the file keeps showing up as downloaded but the actual file is not in the general download folder? I only see where it download and says downloaded in the download list. The file contains a virus and also Firefox states that its dangerous. I never clicked to open the file.

How to stop this from keep automatically downloading when I open my browser? Please help ASAP Thanks

We appreciate and enjoy the settings continuity within Mozilla Firefox, allowing us to operate across multiple devices with same passwords etc.

Why can't we get that same functionality with THUNDERBIRD? Traveling away from the office with Thunderbird on my tablet I lose access to emails stored in folders in my main PC. I have tried the migrating process before and after trips abroad but it never collects ALL my emails. Most recently, the migrating method picked up setting, folders and emails up to 2021 - but nothing more recent. Consequently, I had to travel without a proper record.

The 'migration' process is clumsy and unreliable.

Why can't we open a THUNDERBIRD account on any device and find all our work, settings and history as we do with Mozilla Firefox?

Tired of the bullying tactics of Microsoft forcing me to accept Microsoft Edge when all I want is Google Chrome, so I'm thinking of making Mozilla my default browser, but I'm concerned about whether Mozilla will tranfer all my info. I sell the occasional bits on Etsy and Ebay. I had found the perfect tool to edit my photos on Chrome. Now this has gone haywire because I am forced into using Edge, which does not give me anything like the editing choices I have on Chrome. I have followed all the directions given by Microsoft to get off Edge and back into Chrome but they have all failed miserably, so I am trapped in Edge and all my efforts are turning into Groundhog Day ! Also if I return to Firefox, what will happen to all my photos, and the folders they are kept in ? As an 86 year old, I need clear, concise directions on how I can restore everything I need to be able to return to a browser I was completely comfortable with. Please advise.

I've received an email about the change from Firefox account to Mozilla account. But it came to an email address that I removed from my Firefox account months ago, and not to either the primary or the secondary email addresses that are on the account now. How come?

I am unable to save attachments. I have been using this function for many years but now when I try to save an attachment (or multiples) from an email, I go through all of the steps and there are no reported errors but the files never show up in the target directory.

Stopped receiving daily Washington Post newsletters yesterday, and they question if Firefox changed something? Is there something new preventing receiving them? If yes, how can I change it to allow the Washington Post e-mails? Thank you!

Using 115.3.3, I am able to adjust the width of other columns with the cursor, but it will not change to the "double bar" in the date column. The only way that I can adjust is by dragging other columns and thus affecting others. Am I missing something, or is this a possible bug that needs to be addressed in a future version? I am pretty sure that I've experienced this problem in earlier versions as well, because I've always struggled with getting the columns to my liking.

I have been getting seemingly random failures to download e-mail from gmail.com I am currently running 115.3.3 64bit, but the problem started with a previous 32 bit version.

Other research suggested that the 32bit versions had a hardcoded limit of 4gigabytes per account, and that the 64bit version had no such limit. The account in question takes up approximately 1.64gbytes, with the two largest folders at 249mbytes and 216mbytes.

It was also suggested that Local Folders was not subject to the 4gbyte limit. I moved a few of the largest folders to Local Folders; that was no help with the cannot write mailbox problem, cannot filter to folder problem and the cannot move messages to folder problem.

I compact folders regularly, the problems return.

I'm having trouble downloading attachments. The attachment is downloaded, the file is saved on the desktop, but it weighs 0 kb. Do you have an idea what could be the cause?

In the last couple of weeks I have been unable to retrieve my email using Thunderbird or outlook from Namecheap servers. They offer a solution specifically for thunderbird solution solution /setup they tell you to use server address for server part in client setup mine is https://premium288.web-hosting.com

none of this works diffrent machines clients all return a fail to find in various wording

I am getting a "pop up window" asking to leave firefox nearly every time I do a search. There are some pages that do require this, but it is now occurring whenever I try to change pages. How do I trace the origins of the window please. Thanks. Phil Davis
