When I hit cmd+l to select the URL bar, the first entry in the suggestion list is "Search with Amazon.com" with a pin icon to the left of it. I've searched all through the preferences and even about:config and any reference to Amazon is disabled. How can I get this to go away?

Can I remove the white bar that appears as shown? Sorry, but I have used Firefox for so long that I forget all the weird customisations I may have made in the past!

My bookmarks have been lost. I think they're gone forever. I really needed them for work. A certain person hacked into my 1password account. I know it's "impossible" but not if someone knows you and is determined and smart. Anyway, he changed the email associated with my account, but not the password. I was logging in, and was prompted to enter the "original" email. Huh? I tried various ways to access my account to no avail. I had a recovery key, but no place to enter it. A different email worked. But my bookmarks are gone. Any ideas on how i can recover them?

JesusHChrist, the rocket science spam detection on this board seems to be blocking my posts that contain a firefox and mozilla link. That's right, firefox and mozilla. So I don't know what to do about that except the stupid URL deformation below. So let me try to post again. Good evening, I downloaded firefox developer and I must say that I was very amazed by the wonderful browser you have created, the only problem is that when I want to go to view the credentials, any person can view the password (I use a window login password) .

I ask you to enter if it is possible to verify (if it exists) to enter the login window password so as to have even more security!

Hi, We use Firefox for different Web-Interfaces in our Studio. The used Computer is not (and never will be) connected to the Internet. From time to time we get a message in the upper right corner, that tells us, that Firefox is not able to make updates, because it’s not connected to the Internet. (What we allready know) Is it possible to stop this message from appearing? (It’s annoying, when there is no Keyboard or mouse available to click it away) Thanks for your help!

Recently, my Win7 PC failed. I was running the latest Firefox as default browser. Fortunately the C: drive was unharmed in the failure and all data was intact. Unfortunately, after a recent reload of Norton I overlooked including Firefox in the backup data set. My new computer is Win10 (bleagh) with the most current version of Firefox as default browser. What files on the Win7 C: drive contain my bookmarks and how do I get the Win10 version of Firefox to import them?

I have been requested to uninstall Adobe Flash player. I am still using Flash Player for some web sites and am ask to activate before video will work. At the end of the year I am told that Flash Player will no longer work. I asked one of the sites what I should do and they recommended using Chrome and html5 to watch video. I have also checked several sites to see what can be done with Firefox to continue watching video without changing browsers. I wish Firefox would put out a step by step process to fix this problem and allow me to use html5 in a Firefox browser. I am reluctant to uninstall Flash Player until I understand how to make html5 or whatever is required to continue to watch live stream and youtube. It looks like I have until January before Flash Player is inoperative. BTW, I have Firefox version 82, running Win10 with Shockwave Flash 32.0 r0. Jay

Past 2 days I receive unwanted advertisements in my email and all sign-ins are auto filled. In Firefox I have block pop-ups checked and do not have auto fill addresses checked. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, You have to use an asterisk to search a bookmark in toolbar. I think that's not very intuitive. It shoul search without it.

Every time, you want to search in toolbar and see results with bookmarks as well. It's very helpful. Please update this.

Hello, Sometime between Friday and today (Monday) Firefox has "hijacked" all of my pdf documents. I didn't ask for this and don't what this. I did find the setting that controls how Firefox handles downloads, it was set for open in Firefox, I switched to back always ask and restarted my laptop. All my existing files are still saved as Firefox HTML Documents. Additionally, when printing from the web files are still saving/printing as the Firefox HTML docs. How can I fix this?

I apparently have multiple copies (2) of Firefox 82.0.3 installed on my computer. ?? How do I remove one without compromising my bookmarks, etc.? I would like to download v 83.0 but would like to clean up beforehand.

My new laptop had a new install of Firefox when I received it, running on a Windows 10 OS. When I installed my bookmarks from a previous back-up (my previous laptop had died) the new installation assigned wrong web addresses to each and every bookmark title. I've tried everything that I can think of to reload my bookmarks and tried to make sense of the help in your FAQ pages. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but the same issue occurs. The correct titles for my bookmarks appear in the right place, as I'd assigned in my previous laptop. However all the icons are like an empty, wire world icon and most of them don't activate. The ones that do activate a link take me to an entierly unrelated website. When I look at the individual bookmarks under Bookmarks/show all bookmarks, are all incorrect. Many of my passwords still work but some don't. I cannot bookmark a new page - there is just no response at all. I can't delete bookmarks from my Toolbar or from within the 'show all bookmarks' page. What is going on and how can I recover my bookmarks so that I have a functioning Firefox please? Help! I am wasting time both typing in new searches and in trying to fix this! I have even dismantled my old laptop and plugged in the old C Drive to my new one - the drive and all the old data is there and visible but this install of Firefox running on this machine will not accept even the old bookmark data! All the json files that I have seen have no identifying icon - just a blank rectangle as the icon for the file-type. I've even removed the very few plug-ins that I had and gone back to the original install state for Firefox without any joy! That's about as much fault-finding info this non-techie user can give.
