After having spent a fair amount of time searching to find out why javascript doesn't seem to be enabled by default, I'm perplexed. Other applications, Safari for example don't require any setup to use javaScript as far as I can tell.

Hello, I use a smartcard (US Govt CAC) to authenticate to websites. Often I have to check the status of the PKCS#11 module in the Security Devices Dialog under Security & Privacy Tab. Is there a hot key or customizable feature to allow me to directly bring that dialog up directly?

I'm able to log-in to my Wordpress site without entering a password. I don't know why, and I'd like to disable this. My web host says it's a browser issue. This doesn't happen on any other website.

As of Firefox 75, the address bar plumps out in an "enlarged" state. This is a new feature of Firefox 75, announced here: https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2020/04/07/latest-firefox-updates-address-bar-making-search-easier-than-ever/

I'm wondering: how can I revert this back to how it was? I don't want it to plump out since it partly covers up the surrounding UI elements. I have a muscle memory for sometimes minimizing this bar with Escape, then clicking one of my bookmarks or one of the UI elements. I haven't had an issue seeing the address bar before, so this new feature is a detriment to me.

I did not make any changes to options. When I started today, I went to find a website from history and all my history from the day before was gone. AND have of the list space was full of bookmarks. How could bookmarks be in history? Why is my history gone?

Is there some keyboard command that was done by accident to cause this? This has never happened before.

My dad uses Chrome not Firefox. So anything he does should not affect my settings.

Is there a way to fix this? or to keep it from happening in the future?

Since FF75 whenever i open a new tab or type in the adressbar the adressbar enlarges unnecessarily (see red marking in the picture (b), (c)), bleeding over in the tabs above (a) and covering (darkening, with a shadow effect) the bookmarks below the addressbar (d).

to me this is completely unusable in this state and everytime i see it, it is highly disturbing to the eye. how do i get rid of this?

It now becomes bigger when you click on it or open a new tab, which is getting in the way of my toolbar. Is there a way to turn this feature off, and revert to the previous behavior (where it did not change size when clicked on or opened in a new tab?)

I know this seems like a small thing, but it's majorly getting in the way of me using my toolbar like I have in the past. To the point where I'm considering going back to Chrome. Please advise!

Is the a way to remove this new focused address bar? I want to be normal like in FireFox 74 the new style is so annoying.

This last update forcefully added expandable box when you type something in the address bar. I dont like it and want to change it back. Can someone tell me what is the About:config option that I need to toggle to change this?

I hate how now when I use Cmd-L or click on the location/search bar, it 'magnifies' or gets bigger. I find it gets in the way of the bookmarks bar. I don't need this, find it aesthetically unpleasant, and would love to be able to turn it off. I'm sure it was a 'feature' that was added in some recent update - why not make it configurable? Or maybe it is and I can't see how to adjust it?

I am an academic librarian working from home. Literally for years, I've been able on Windows 7 and now Windows 10 to log into my grad school's online system including access to databases. Much of this requires a proxy for authentication. Before I describe the error, let me say that I installed Zotero over a year ago and have never had problems with it. Now, when I try to login, I get this, even when trying only to log in. There are two lines. The yellow bar that is hard to read because it keeps flashing but here's my best shot: Zotero automatically redirected your request to gslibrary.authn.worldcat.org through the proxy at gbtssbc.idm.oclc.org. Some space then "Don't proxy this site Proxy settings X

For one moment, both the tellow bar and the message this is normal black text on white shows and then the yellow bar disappears and the black text moves up on the page. When I try to click "here" it keeps jumping around. I"ve never seen anything like this in many years on Firefox.

   I can successfully log in and use resources with the proxy on Opera. It does not complain. Someting about Firefox 75 is broken. I prefer using Firefox the most of the browsers available but I can't work like htis. I need to look up books and help users search for journal articles all the time. I cannot do without that. I don't really like Opera because of the lack of options but this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. If I cannot fix this, bye-bye Firefox. That's pretty serious for me for me but I must be able to work from home efficiently. Note: I disabled the Zotero plug-in. I asked on the Zotero forum and got some suggestions that didn't really help. I don't think it is Zotero. Zotero is only showing up because it connects to our librayr system. How can I fix this? I don't even know precisely what is wrong but for one thing, it shows the wrong URL  for logging in. That hasn't been true for a long time. I do not want to clear all my saved passwords and cookies to fix what is pretty clearly a FF 75 bug. I was a programmer a lot of years on complex systems. All the fingers are pointed at FF 75.

Hi all, I believe I remember that this function once was implemented in firefox and I used it regularly. But now I can't find it anymore:

The search results of an internet search (let's say google search results) show up in firefox one after the other. When I move my hand to the mouse and Strg + click I can open selected search results in new tabs. From the keyboard I can only use Tab to navigate from element to element - but not from search result to search result as I want.

Is there a possibility to move quickly from search result to search result? To skip all the not interesting elements? To "tab" through all these links, the maps, the ads takes ages...

Would be great if someone knew the old function in firefox at least.

I have a high DPI monitor, and I've set the Windows UI scaling factor to 125%. However, at 125% the web pages appears a bit too zoomed in (images and fonts too large) for me, so I set the default zoom level to 80% in the settings page. But apparently add-on popups (e.g. uBlock origin) doesn't use the default zoom level so they are comically large compared to web pages. I tried setting layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1, but then Firefox UI became too small. I wonder if I can set the zoom level for add-on popups to 80% without changing the size of the browser UI?
