The "do this automatically for files like this from now on" checkbox does NOT have any effect for me. Every time I open an attachment of the same type (e.g. .zip files) it still presents the dialog box asking me if I want to "open with" the related viewer program (e.g. Archive Utility, by default). I'm using an iMac with OS High Sierra, and I have the most up-to-date version of Firefox.

I updated a PDF document on my website. When I visit the website and retrieve the document, I get the old version.

I have clear FireFox cache and reloaded the document. Nothing works!

At first it redirected to channels where I had recently voted/answered a question/poll, but then it just switched to channels that I don't know and specifically to questions/polls that I definitely did not participate in.

With Firefox (64.0.2) is impossible to use Google search, all I get is sorry page. If I use Edge or IE everything is ok. If I use Firefox and log on to my Google account, again is ok. Doe's Google deliberately block me or this is Firefox fault or block's me because I use Firefox? Found at forum that I sholud create dummy account… why?!?! I will switch to another browser (I am in computer user since 1990, also Firefox and Thunderbird user from first days). In my regular job Help Desk is similar to this, it is impossible to ask any question that differs from usual question, so things have to be like this, I think…. I'm a little angry, writing letters instead of doing job, so sorry.

why do i not have the ability to "remember this decision"?

Everything else is syncing just fine. Bookmarks and history work. However, the preferences and options from "Customize" section are not transferring. Is this a bug or is this working as intended?

I would be most disappointed if it was the latter. Today's expectation is that a login requirement will precede a seamless customer experience. In this case, that is the user interface.

If it's a bug, then the steps I've taken are thus:

- uninstall - clear the package cache - remove all files associated with Firefox - then perform system upgrade - re-install Firefox

When I try to take a full-page screenshot in Gmail, I only get the visible portion of the page. Full-page screenshots on other sites (like washingtonpost.com) seem to work fine.

When trying ti sign in to Sync, I get the popup window with the following error:

code 400 errno 109 error "Bad Request" message "Invalid request parameter" info "https://github.com/mozilla/fxa-oauth-server/blob/master/docs/api.md#errors" validation "keys_jwk"

I can sync fine on my other PC and on my android phone. On this one, Sync also works fine for Bookmarks etc, just not for Notes.

I have used Firefox with Fotor for a long time. Suddenly, when I go to download a photo from photo, what I get is a .png labeled "canvas" and it is just a blank space. Fotor's recommendation is to use Chrome, but I would rather continue to use Firefox with Fotor.

They appear in the upper right corner of the screen with an audio alert, bear the firefox symbol with short clickbait-type content: alternative medicine, celebrities, etc. "easyspeedtest.co" is at the bottom. They're there a second or so.

Have been a Firefox user for many years. Not sure of root cause but recently - irrespective of my site settings - search results are returning from 'Yahoo!' search (branding and all). Don't want this. Found some steps on the community forum to fix (should we really have to do this if we've removed from 'supported browsers' etc?).

Anyway, to execute the steps i needed to log in but cannot retrieve my log-in + pw via usual methods (see 'Question:' content above).

Also - On Support forum I found a helpful thread for addressing the 'retrieve log in' solution, however, the instruction to 'add my problem' by replying therein required that I 'log in to my account..' (sigh)..

So now I've started this new thread (which required creating a Support log in) for which the same email address as was used to 'send info to retrieve account log in' worked fine but the 'retrieve the account' actions continue to fail to deliver (as noted in "Questions:" content above)..(sigh #2).

FWIW - Added an image from the 'Support Thread' strictly for purposes of highlighting the impediment to 'Reply' to an 'I can't get my account info' thread by, well, being asked to log in to my account else spawn new support thread.

Reminder: the real root problem that spawned this thread was my need to solve for "getting rid of the 'Yahoo!' search returns". Like a zombie, Yahoo! searches keep popping up irrespective of the 'usual Firefox config./settings that used to eliminate such things, this issue keeps returning to haunt me + my machine.

Hope that makes sense. Any help/guidance appreciated.

I thought that the keyboard shortcut ctrl+shift+R always ignored the cache and responses were usually 200 rather than 304. However, I seem to be getting 304s every time I reload with any of the keyboard shortcuts. Could an update have broken these keyboard shortcuts? Or am I mistaken and the server can force you to use the cache on your local device?

Been using Firefox for decades, and there is a recent change which has me flummuxed. I've gone to a dual boot Windows system and want to export my bookmarks from one Firefox to the other. I go to All Bookmarks/Import and Backup/ and see a button that says "save in html", just as in former versions. I click on "Save to HTML" and tell it to go to my usual Firefox backup place in which I have backups going back to 2014 in html, the last dating to August or September 2018. Click "save".

I then click on "Import from HTML". My newest backup shows in .json but NOT in HTML.

What am I doing wrong?

I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox and reinstalled the updated version now I have NO Gmail, no icon nothing. hat happened?

Before I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox...Gmail characteristics changed drastically. Function labels disappeared, the whole look of it changed to plain white. My customizations disappeared.

A few weeks ago, perhaps when Firefox updated itself to version 64 I have started to experience a lot of crashed tabs and black videos. The video is playing because I can hear the sound, but the picture area is completely black. I have temporarily solved this by turning Hardware Acceleration to OFF.

My system isn't particularly exotic. It is an AMD Ryzen system running a Galax GTX 1050 graphics card. I tried to resolve the issue by updating to the latest Geforce drivers 417.71 but that didn't fix it.

Unchecking both "Use recommended performance settings" and "Use hardware acceleration when available" has solved the problem. I have used the computer for a full day without any tab crashes or black videos.

I strongly suspect there is an issue with version 64 that started this problem.

I would ideally like to explicitly be asked to consent to any redirection, or if not possible, at least to block redirection all together. I do not mind it possibly making most websites difficult or impossible to use. Should I for example type "gmail.com" into the address bar, I do not want to redirected to https://www.google.com/...etc, regardless of whether gmail.com contains anything besides said redirection. I would naturally also like to block any forms of redirection from within websites, say I'm using a website, and I click on something, and that either opens a new window, or loads a different website in the current window, I would like to prevent that entirely. Is this possible, and if so, how would I go by doing it?

I have been using Firefox for many years no trouble. All of a sudden now when I open an email from Autonews.com that has a daily newscast "video", it will not play.- A stationary picture of its video opening appears but when I click on the arrow to actually play it the screen goes white/blank. I called Autonews and their tech said to try it with Google Chrome. I did and with that browser the Autonews videos play OK just like it used to with Firefox -( which I like better). Thus a Firefox issue. They told me to try clearing my firefox 'History' which I did- for 'one day' but no help. I also see some type of "refresh" procedure that may help but I am afraid to do It and loose all my Firefox bookmarks. I am obviously a computer novice so anyone that can give me some detailed help info. as to how to fix my problem -I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

When I right click on the Firefox taskbar button, frequently visited sites appear. Some sites appear as icons, some do not. The problem seems better in the picture.
