Okay. So, I changed my email password on my email server, HIS.COM (Heller Information Services, a local email server company in Bethesda, MD.) I am able to access my email on webmail, (which I hate to use), on both my laptop and on my desktop. Yesterday, I could access it on my desktop, but not my laptop. Just now, I was trying to uninstall and install Thunderbird on my laptop and it would keep just rebooting my old non-working program. Then, the worst possible thing happened. By screwing around on my laptop program, I somehow knocked out my desktop Thunderbird, and it no longer works. I am happy to pay for help. I just made a donation. I need someone to call me and walk me through this. I think I changed something that I cannot change back.

I am using Mail Merge to send messages, and want to have the date in the body of the message change to the date I actually send the email. Or I have a draft email that I eventually send. Is there a field that will insert today's date (to compensate for me forgetting to change the date manually)?

I can see that there has been a reply or a messages was forwarded and when I right click for the menu "Open" may not even appear at times. When it does appear "Open in Conversation" is not always presented as an option even though there has clearly been conversation as I can locate reply's in the Sent folder. Sometimes it's there but when selected it opens a tab that only shows the email and none of the conversations. It's hit and miss and I can find no rhyme or reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I would love to Testflight Thunderbird on Apple. Thanks, Sue

I have just transferred my website to crazy domains and in order to set up email they need DNS records for thunderbird. I dont know how to access this. Could you please provide these for me.

Unified inbox. Have to delete messages twice (first time only marks them read).

When I delete a message from the Unified Inbox by swiping right (and confirming) it only gets marked as read and not deleted. Have to swipe right once more (and confirm) to make it disappear.

In the normal inbox it is deleted at the first swipe to the right.

Why does it only get marked as read at the first delete in the Unified inbox?

A bit annoying having to delete evey message twice in the Unified inbox.

I was trying to clean up my iPhone 16 by deleting emails, double deleting emails, not realising that they were being deleted across all of my devices. I contacted Apple and, of course, as the emails were double binned they were unable to help me. I then remembered I was using Thunderbird on an older MacBook, MacOS 10.14.6. Is there any way I can retrieve these emails? Pleeeeease tell me there is. Ive read other answers but the questions that are being answered are not quite the same. Thanks for any reply.bold text

My computer crashed and so restarted it, when went to open thunderbird got a couldn't load XPCom message. Followed directions to reinstall thunderbird without using the uninstaller. When I installed it, I reloaded my email to set it up. I have lost all my latest emails, only getting them from 15 years ago. and today, nothing from this year. All my folders have also gone and my contacts.

Can someone please help, how do I fix it, I have emails from this year that I need to keep.

I use Thunderbird as my email client for my HP Laptop,for a number of email addresses. Working well. Curiously after an update to my to my password in my Telstra BigPond Australia email address- [edited] @bigpond.com & coincidently within a day of the December 10, 2025 Thunderbird update- All my emails disappeared. OTHER emails remained untouched. My email account address line appears. The Inbox, Sent, Deleted labels appear, but empty. Please help. Could it be a 'profile" issue. The server settings appear correct when using Google mail on my phone. My email [edited[ @bigpond works on my Android A55 mobile. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please define folders: Sent, Sent Mail, All Mail: hesitant to delete any in these folders.

Deleting messages to Trash seems to NOT remove from All Mail. Currently have nearly 3,000 in All Mail. How to manage All Mail?

Hello,

A few days ago Thunderbird started denying access to my Yahoo mail account. After many attempts to sort this out I decided to remove the account and add it back again, but to no avail. I also changed my Yahoo password and activated the so called 2 step authentication, but nothing works.

I added the same Yahoo account to Windows Outlook desktop app, without any issues, just signing in with my password.

I also installed Betterbird, the Thunderbird equivalent, but could not add the Yahoo account.

I have been using Thunderbir for many years and would hate to have it uninstalled. I use it for Gmail and Outook accounts as well and without any problems.

I would be gratefull if you could help me out with this problem.

      I have a Microsoft Exchange hosted email address with a (mycompanyname.com) domian.   I can check this account via Outlook, but I love Thunderbird so much, I want to sign into this new company account too on Thunderbird.    I know I need to do it via the Exchange Web Services but I get an 'unable to log in at server' error.     See the screen shot attached, is my login field correct?   What should the login field be?  Willing to try any suggestions please!  Thank you,
