I just wonder why all mails suddenly seem to be totally disappeared. Without any warning. Althoug there should be 20 mails (which figure has only been creasing for the time being/already for hours. :( Also all ready models/musters seem to be deleted. So I can't add my usual signature as easy as usuaylly:

I wish to add a new account to 'mail.de' in thunderbird. I can enter 'mail.de' and there access 'spranger@mail.de'. But when I try to open a new account in thundermail, this is rejected by server.

All my saved mails in my local archives dissappeared about one week ago, probably in connection with a system update of my Thunderbird mail box. These mails are important for me. How do I do to get them back? Best regards, Monica Biander

Beim Aufrufen meiner Emails auf dem PC, erscheint ein Fenster: Verbindung konnte mit .arcor.de nicht hergestellt werden, obwohl ich Mails empfangen und senden kann. Bis vor einer Woche konnte ich mit gleicher Enail-Adresse auch gleichzeitig auf meinem IPhone senden und empfangen, im Moment kann ich nur Mails versenden, empfangen nicht mehr.

I have tried using both a zip and unzip folders along with a backup folder for moving an export of the calendar. I export file is larger than 2GB and i find no way to make it smaller. or i can not find a way to export a pure csv file. All the above fails on import. please advise

I store many e.mails in a variety of Folders. Most are viewable but at least one folder (ATTIVO) says there are no e.mails despite having just saved them there. These e.mails are visible via my i-phone. As I have passwords etc saved on my lap-top this issue is problematical but not fatal but does indicate a glitch in Thunderbird that makes me suspect it's general reliability

I accidentally archived multiple messages today that I had deliberately kept in my inbox for attending to later. My archive folder is set to "All Mail" unfortunately. Can I sort the messages in All Mail by date archived? It will be a massive task for me to find them otherwise as the messages I want to retrieve are up to 2 years old

Thunderbird Version 102.14.0 When in the Folders, Unread Folders only view and selecting a specific user folder in the Folders pane which contains a specific unread user email, then selecting a specific user email within the folder in the Emails pane, if the All Folders view is selected, then deselected, the specific folder location (which was highlighted) of the specific email being viewed in the Read pane is lost if there are no unread emails remaining. There are multiple ways in which losing the specific folder location of a specific email is lost.

Another more general condition. With no unread emails, view All Folders only. Select a specific Folder. Select a specific email within the Folder. Switch to Unread Folders and deselect All Folders. Select All Folders again. Although the specific email is still selected and in the Read pane, there is no indication as to it's specific folder location in the Folders pane.

How can the specific folder location of a specific user email be determined after it's status has changed to Read? For a specific email, the "Location" column in the Emails pane would be a logical choice, but it is blank and contains no information. This question is also not related to the Thunderbird app folder locations such as Profile. This question is a functional question about Thunderbird email attributes.

When bulk selecting and deleting, sometime columns don't match rows. eg: subject doesn't match correspondents (sometime additional random contacts are added to correct correspondant) and message panel may not match highlighted "subject" email.

Been using for years...love the product. But this is a new quirk. I have noticed, when I have done hundreds of bulk deletions, deleted messages will be added back in inbox??

Thunderbird 149.0.2 trashed my inbox emails on iMac Sonoma. Need to recover Inbox, about 2-3 thousand messages.

When I saw it put all inbox into trash, I tried to direct the files back to the Inbox but Thunderbird then deleted all trash. HELP.

I am currently avoiding putting anything into trash.

In my INBOX folder I have a number of subfolders that I use to filter my client email into. Lately I can't remember how to create and add anew folder to the INBOX. I used to simply click on either my account name (IMAP)or the INBOX folder (I can't remember which one) then right-click and add new folder.

Also I have noticed that the dialogue window seems to be cutting off two buttons in the lower edge of the window (see image attached).

My inbox Sub Folders have disappeared on one computer only (Windows 11) And, only one email account. Apparently the emails they contained are still there but not visible.

I am using Thunderbird 140.10.0esr (64-bit) (latest) and for some time I have had a lot of trouble with it moving folders out of alphabetical order (but not all folders) and when I tried to move them where they belong it complains. Then today it can not find several folders. I can not even see the *.msf files and yet the utility "EVERYTHING" says the msf files are in the default directory where they belong but they are not visible from Windows 10 explorer and Thunderbird is not telling me that all folders are empty (including inbox). How do I repair Thunderbird? HELP!!!!!

I'm reading the question Thread's broken sorting makes it completely unusable and I have to agree that order of messages within thread is not the best one - ascending. For example, I am subscribed to a forum messages and I'm getting all the notifications for a topic to a thread. Currently I have like 85 messages in a thread and to see the newest one I have to scroll all the way down each time - scrolling 85 messages is a lot and it is getting worse because the number of messages keeps growing. After I've seen the newest message, I have to scroll all the way up to close the thread. (or am I missing something - perhaps some shortcuts?)

But I guess for some such ordering is obviously fine. Hence, I guess, an option how to sort threads might come handy. Perhaps even having a default sort order and an override per thread?

PS. funnily enough, I'll have the same issue with notifications for this question :)

Unfortunately, for some time now, the "Recent Destinations" list remains very small and most folders, regardless of how recently I moved messages to them, do not show up on the list.

I have tried quitting TB, deleting folderCache.json, but that makes no difference. The list stays the same, and it does not get updated for most folders.

Maybe that approach is no longer a panacea :-) and there is some other way to fix this?

Hello! Over the last few years, I was using Owl Exchange to access my school and work email accounts which couldn't be added regularly.

Now that I've upgraded, I'm not able to add these accounts using the EWS method. I run into all kinds of errors, or Thunderbird is unable to detect the kind of account.

Yet, my existing IMAP accounts work great with Owl. How can I easily convert these to work with Thunderbird EWS natively?

Email older than several weeks in mail subfolders is blank in Thunderbird and looks like binary within buffer D:\WORKSPACE\Computer Tech\Config & Buffers\Thunderbird Stuff\Profiles\dq1ljd8g.default\Mail\Inbox Archive I assume that the mail resembling binary has been compacted, but it appears that Thunderbird cannot un-compact the messages. Need some help, please.
