God's morrow, Gentlefolk and folkesses. I'm trying to migrate Thunderbird to a new coputer. Horrified to see that the Thunderbird folder was 26 GB, I deleted thousands of old emails, emptied all deleted item folders, deleted all archives, restarted the computer and then went to check on the size of the new "much slimmer" folder.

After deleting masses of unwanted data, the folder size has INCREASED to 33GB!

What to do?

I was trying to switch between channels by changing the value in prefs.js

I guess some of the paths are not fully supported. Like from nightly into release it is downloading and restarting the browser but update fails and starts all over again leading to a vicious infinite loop.

I recently switched over to Firefox and am loving it. However, every time I either restart or turn off and on my computer, firefox "re-installs." It does not save my chosen theme, nor does it show my bookmarks. I have to re-log in to every website because my history is deleted. I don't save many passwords, but usually it remembers my log in to things like my email and drive which I need for work. It's become quite cumbersome because I don't want to leave my computer on or in sleep mode 24/7. Is there something I can do about this? I'm on an updated Mac laptop.

I just installed Thunderbird and I'm trying to setup a new email account. When i first enter the information it says that it can't find the correct server information. I then enter the information manually just like my host told me to (WPX) and I cannot connect to the server. I'm using POP3 connections for incoming mail. Is there something i'm missing here?

Hello. I manage multiple email addresses. One of them is a Yahoo! address and the other 3 are emails linked to a domain that I own. Prior to downloading Thunderbird, I used the Gmail App in G-Suite (Now Google Workshops) to manage all of these email addresses. When using Gmail, I associated my main email address with Google and created two others as "aliases" to receive email all at the same account. Now, I have re-associated those email addresses with my domain provider. They are now 3 standalone addresses. I have added all 4 addresses into Thunderbird, and there was no problem with that. However I would like to import all of the messages (read and unread) from the gmail account to Thunderbird. Is there a way to do that? i have tried clicking "Get Messages" and looking through the Sync options. For the Yahoo! address, it has curiously retrieved all of my recent "Sent" messages, but none of the recent Inbox messages. It did, however, retrieve 5 very old Inbox messages (from before I began using gmail). I understand that you can use a gmail account with Thunderbird, but none of these are native gmail accounts, I simply used gmail to manage them. Currently I can still log-in and check my email on Gmail, but I am going to cancel my Google Workshops account soon, so I believe this will not be possible with that happens. Thanks for your time.

I have recently removed a mailbox from Thunderbird that was set up as IMAP and when removing I have unticked the opption "delete mail data" because I wanted to keep my mails. Now I have setted up the same mailbox as POP3 but could not find how to restore the "sent mail" data. Tried to look for in the appdata but only found the file for the recently setted up mailbox and that is empty obviously. Could you please help me where can I find the data of the deleted mailbox and how to restore it? Thanks for the help Cheers Tamas

Hi Friends! It has long been known that Googe classifies Thunderbird as an insecure app. However, Google seems to consider Thunderbird dangerous only when used in the Linux environment. I've try adding account Gmail into Thunderbird from Windows and Macosx and no one warning or connection blocking you experience if you activate your account from Windows and/or Macosx. Why using Windows or Apple Thunderbird is secure and on Linux not? And how Google do allow to call Thunderbird insecure?!?

Is the truth that there are solid commercial agreements between these commercial realities and Google? Maybe user data transfer agreements?...

This behavior has all the flavor of an incorrect and sanctioned practice by the Competition and Market Authority. Are there any details for a class action? I will participate jointly.

win RT8.1 (SURF2, 32 GB, 2 GIG RAM W/ 16 GB DISK OPEN) stops install of FF and Directs me to the win store for an approved app. I cannot find the way to get '''''''''''the install anyway''''''''''' option like in win 10 where I down loaded FF on this laptop. Need the pathway/steps in win RT8.1 to bypass the MS store dictate to complete download and install of FF.

Moving from Ubuntu 14.04 to 20.04 Mail settings at the user level are identical for both but only the v52.9.1 can send mail. Also, many of the received emails on 20.04 have no content visible, only the header area. Using synaptic to reinstall Thunderbird made no changes. SMTP server is outbound.att.net 465 There are 3 email addresses being used. On the older v52 machine one of the addresses required a password key which cleared up a receiving problem but cannot send out emails and there is no password shown for the outbound direction only the inbound. The other 2 addresses can send and receive msgs as normal using a standard password and the password manager shows lines for both inbound and outbound. The 20.04 machine throws a send message error "sending of the message failed" instantly. There is no time delay as it goes out and looks for the AT&T server.

Hello, For some reason my coworkers email data files are outside his normal profile directories as indicated by standard operating procedure for moving profile. So of course when I try to move the profile the online procedure on Mozilla site and even youtube videos do not apply, It's not like outlook, the files are nested in different folders, am I up the creek?

p.s. So the "Mail" folder is inside the users "Documents" folder. -- I already spent hours on this, Ideally there should be a export profile to encapsulate the email, contacts, etc to move the data, but I do not think this type of function exists.

I just received an update for Firefox for Android, through Google Play store, in 1 place, it says v.84.1.4, she I looked @ "What's New", where the version# is shown, with the date, the size of the update, the link to see permissions, etc- it says the version is 85.1.x,(sorry, don't recall what that last number was- I have TBI, memory doesn't cooperate @ times), BEFORE I GO UPDATING ANYTHING, I WANT TO KNOW WHAT VERSION# I'M GOING FROM, & WHAT VERSION I'M GOING TO! I didn't look in my phone settings, to see what I'm running right now,(I'm using Razer Phone 2, on MetroPcs, by T-Mobile), I wasn't expecting to see something like this, 2 different versions, 1 #84, & other #85, on the update page! I'm gonna back out of the Playstore update page, check phone for what version I'm running now, while I wait for an answer, from the people who should know! BTW, I'm NOT looking @ different screens, I know the difference between a main update, & a Beta version, or a Nightly version, & so forth! I'm seeing this on the main update from the Playstore! Ok? I'll check my phone, you tell me last version, to new updated version, fair enough? Thanks
