I need a way to mark the line of the message I am reading. When I click down to the message and then look at the list of messages there is no clear way to see which message I am on. The tech must be there because when I chose a dark them the current message is marked black and all the others are pale. But everything else is so pale it is useless! I just want that bit of code to put in my css!

I can t find the way for a shortcut "pick up" mail just for one account... There is "pick up all accounts" but not a specific one...

I am using Thunderbird 102.13.0.

When viewing a contact in Thunderbird Address Book, it opens as a narrow window at the bottom of the screen, as in the attached picture (I have blanked out personal data in this).

You can only see a couple of lines at a time. To see more of the contact it is necesssary to scroll up and down. This is particularly inconvenient when trying to edit a contact or cut-paste details.

You can get a bit more by cutting down the depth of the contacts list above, but this is also not always convenient.

Is there any way of opening the contact record in a separate window, as you can an email or a calendar entry?

hi, something happened to my themes. i can no longer see the preview/thumbnail of them, also the authors link is gone. i've been trying everything for hours, but couldn't find anything in about:config that worked. any help would be great, thanks!

Hi, i am on linux an Firefox 115.0.2. Every supported website appeared in dark mode because of my preferences in the firefox settings respectively about:config layout.css.prefers-color-scheme.content-override is set to 2 and my system mode is dark. (0 and 3 changes nothing) Since some time this settings does not work anymore. The only thing i have changed is: about:config - privacy.trackingprotection.enabled set to true So now all the websites appeared in dark mode now appear in light mode. Chrome shows all these websites in dark mode. (But of course thats no option :-)) An Example: reddit.com: before: dark, now: light mode, Chrome dark mode. So please help! regards, awilli

I'm seeing this on only one of two TBird 115 PCs: on the first, in the message list, when I double-click to read the message, there's a delay of about three seconds before the message header appears, and above the subject, there's an icon and the sender's display name, and also, on a second line, the sender's address.

On the other installation, there's no icon, and the display name and the sender's address are on one line above the subject. I have no idea why the first PC has this two-line-plus-icon layout for the senders of messages. I can't find any settings that will get rid of the icon and the two-line display.

I have tried syncing to the time server and manually updating the time with no success. It is only happening on this computer. My other laptop and my Android are fine, so it has something to do with something on this PC. I've tried to disable vpns but that hasn't helped. Any insight is greatly appreciated since the timestamp is crucial for much of what I do!

I am looking at houses several times a day as they come in on emails. I was hoping there was an alteration in the settings that when clicking on a link it opens that link in the browser, but I don't lose focus from Thunderbird. There could be a hundred emails with house details, and I need to go through them methodically. What would be great to do, is click on the link if interested in the house details and then delete the email. Leaving me opening the new email with more house details, whilst the browser stays in the background. When I have completed the emails, I look on my browser at the ones I found interesting. Is there such a setting or addon for this? I hope I have put this succinctly? Thanks for reading, hope there is an answer.

Somehow I managed to remove the "New message" button above my email address. How do I get it back? I have tried looking through the toolbars, but so far nothing is working.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I sometimes forget to set <delivery status notification> before sending a message. In the new 102.13.0 (64-bit) Is it now possible to <write> <options> <delivery status notification> as a default option? I don't see it but may not be looking in the right place.

I have Firefox 102 ESR in Debian 11 (LXC in Chrome OS). It is the en_US version with Czech spell checking dictionary installed as an add-on. I can switch the spell checker from English to Czech in ordinary text areas by accessing the context menu via a right mouse click.

However, I'm using a proprietary e-commerce system (Shoptet) with a WYSIWIG editor that has its own context menu, overriding the default one in the browser. I can't switch the language for that reason. Is there a way to switch the spell checker language for a particular text area without access to the context menu? Thank you very much.

My problems started after the upgrade to 113 when Firefox would no longer load at all. I tried deleting and reinstalling, but nothing changed until I moved the profile (yeah profile mgr didn't work either). I finally got it to reinstall and ran sync but had to also reinstall my extensions/addons. The extensions appear to be working, but the are not displaying in either the toolbar area or in customizations.

I have tried searching all over and different solutions but thus far nothing has worked. That includes right clicking on the extension and selecting to add it to the toolbar.

I repeat, the extensions appear to be working though I cannot call some of them up (EverNote for example), and I need Lastpass on the toolbar for password generation and to access the vault.

I cannot figure out how to enlarge the print in the window that displays the list of e-mails. I have found a place to specify font and have tried that, but that does not affect anything in the window I have mentioned. On my old computer (Win 10, 64 bit), I found the font on that window large enough. Not now with my new computer (Win 11, home). I suppose I am running an earlier version of Thunderbird on the old computer? (I haven't yet found the 'about' tab for Thunderbird -- not Firefox, to tell me what version I am running.)

I am using Thunderbird Ver 102.13.0 (64 bit) in Windows. I wish to sort alphabetically all of my local folders. I use these folders to save messages. The folders are identified by subject matter and then by the party (client). The folders and sub-folders should be sorted alphabetically and other saved files should be sorted first alphabetically and second by date.

How do I do this?

I'm using a video as the background for my website, and Firefox's built-in PIP (Picture-in-Picture) icon for videos is displaying. I don't want it to be visible on my website. I tried using FFmpeg, but it did not work as it was mentioned by some people on Stack Overflow. I read that Firefox won't display this icon for videos in an iframe, but I don't want to use an iframe on my website. Is there any other solution?

I have a new mac mini with ventura. I am trying to transition from Chrome to Firefox and I have one single thing that is stopping me from doing that.

It is the color of the scrollbar thumb. Currently it is light grey on slightly lighter grey. Almost impossible for me to see with my older eyes.

What I've done so far is to set this to true in the firefox config:

toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets

and created the userChrome.css in the correct profile folder (from firefox troubleshooting information page)

What I want is that anytime the scrollbar displays, I want the thumb to be blue so I can see it. I've not been able to find the css to do this.

Please help me with this, Chrome has become almost unusable and I need to switch to Firefox.

I love the way I can customize my Firefox on my Linux desktop. Not so much on my Android phone.

F.ex. I never use the home button, but open new tabs all the time. Would be nice if I could replace the home button with one that opens a new tab
