Today I did some grocery shopping on maxi.ca. The site is slow. Probably very badly optimized. That goes for all browsers.
But on Chrome, it's a passable experience. I can type in the search field at a normal speed. I can generally scroll without too many issues.
But on Firefox, it is excruciating. When I type in the search field, it takes a few seconds for each letter to show up. When I scroll, there's often a significant delay. When I add a product to my cart, the button takes a good full second to react.
And it gets worse as you keep using the site. At some point 10-15 minutes in, it's no longer usable. You need to refresh the page or even kill Firefox to restore things to the horrible but usable initial experience.
I don't know what's going on. Are they coding things horribly but Chrome has some kind of cheaty optimization to compensate for horrible JavaScript? I don't know but this is starting to erode my loyalty to Firefox, built on the fear of a web engine monopoly and moral principles.

Hi!
I found an issue in Firefox for Android. I recreated it in stable 118.1 and nightly 120 on two devices (Samsung S21 and Xiaomi Pad 5).
To reproduce the issue:
Open Google Drive or OneDrive (I didn't check on other clouds) in desktop site mode. Try to upload a file of size ~1GB.

Tried fresh install with untouched setting, no dice. Reboots also don't help.

Hi guys, for the last few weeks I’ve been struggling to upload articles to listen to. This week I haven’t been able to upload and listen to ANY… I’ve just deleted the app, and gone through the APP store to upload the articles again… and again with no change. Would it be possible to look at this, because up until this September I’d never had any problems uploading. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing back from you soon!

Firefox has started to consume vast amounts of gigabytes of data in the past month that I have noticed even when I rarely use it. I generally use a different browser and use Firefox when the site i go to does not support the browser I use. I have both Firefox beta and Firefox on my LG VELVET Android phone running Android 12. What should I do to fix this recent issue.

Been noticing lately how badly Firefox for iOS will slow way down after jumping between multiple pages, particularly if watching video clips on multiple different pages. Over time the responsiveness of the app gets so sluggish I have to force quit the app to get it back to it's usual snappy self.
It almost feels like a memory leak or a RAM cache that gets too full. No expert. Just not imagining it. Which each page search it gets slower and slower annnnd slloowwwer annnnnnnnnd ssssssslllllllllllloooooweerrrrrrrr to respond to clicks with my finger.
This isn't a recent issue either. Not just related to iOS 17. It's been doing it for a long time. I was hoping iOS 17 might have fixed the issue.
Love the app other wise. Thanks for listening!

At some point pages just stop loading.
When it happens, which is multiple times per day, the lock on the left of the URL bar will be in the "error" / strike through state. The lock icon does not open the popup on click. There is no progress bar. The page stays grey. No error message.
The same URL, in this case the Firefox Android "Get help" link, loads fine in Chrome. In Firefox a force close of the app is needed before it is able to load pages again.

Until a few days ago, when clicking on the Firefox icon, my latest messages came up immediately but now I am confronted with a blank page!
I have discovered I could eventually find them by clicking on File and Get messages - but there are a number of options.
Haphazardly, I clicked on these options and eventually my messages appeared - but even that no longer works...
Help!!

When on any page (but certain ones more than others) my page refreshes over and over. As soon as I go to a page and it loads then it refreshes immediately. Then it does it randomly every minute or so. If I use a different browser it doesn’t refresh unless I refresh the page.
Thanks for your help

I have noticed for a while that when I have a tab open and switch apps and come back to Firefox, that many times the tab is blank. I try to switch tabs and switch back and the tab is either still blank or displays the content of the other tab that I had switched to. Usually its with the newest tab but sometimes can be an older tab that is currently the active tab. The only way I can figure out to get the tab working again is to close the tab and use the message that appears to "undo" this change and restore the tab.
Any help would be appreciated since this happens on almost a daily basis and will typically happen multiple times a day

I'm using Firefox to access academic papers and online books. Because most of this content requires a subscription, I usually visit these web pages through my University library site. However, its not letting me open the destination file. e.g. I can open https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/21670811.2018.1533788?journalCode=rdij20 but not the full article. To open the full article I need to be logged in through my institution's library.
I have changed my proxy settings to 'no proxy' - can you please suggest what else I can do?
It normally works fine on other computers.
Thanks, Claire

Hi,
I recently switched phones to the Google pixel 7 pro. When I Google a business, a little "call" button shows up, just like it always has for the phone number. On my old phone it worked fine with Firefox, and on this phone it works on the Google Chrome browser, but I can't press the call button in Firefox. Worse, when I long press and copy it, it copies the telephone link and I can't paste into the phone app. I've checked and third party apps can be opened by Firefox if I click a Twitter link or whatever, everything else works fine, but not being able to call is a huge bummer

As shown in the image, I'm having this issue where the Android version just refuses to use the internet for some reason. Wifi is working perfectly fine, yet it just doesn't do anything when I click enter on the address bar. Any idea on what's could possibly the root of the problem? It's just stuck there for the last 15 minutes.

I don't use Facebook. When I click on a company's Facebook search result to open in Firefox... It tries to open in another app that can't open it, like a maps app or something like that.
Firefox is set as my choice as browser to open links with.
To be clear, when I click on the search result to open it, I am only given two choices that I can't use and don't want. This seems to only happen with Facebook. It doesn't give Facebook as a choice, which I don't use anyway
Thank you Dr Mark

I used the "clash for Android" program to turn on the system proxy, only Firefox had an exception, and all other programs were able to connect to the Internet normally. Strangely, I can swipe web pages in Firefox with a VPN, but not with Clash. The Android version I am using is 118.2.0, the system is oneui 5.1, Android 13. The phone is not rooted, I would like to know how to fix this problem with clash.
