I like having the Firefox start page as the page that loads whenever I launch Firefox. But I don't like the animations that always appear now that I have upgraded to 29.0.1 for Mac. (The shooting star, and the "space invaders" animation.) They're distracting. How can I turn off the animations?

The default "Moxilla Firefox Start Page" has recently started showing a video simulating an old arcade game. I want a Spartan static default start up page with simple search capabilities. Partly because the video stalls remote desktop display display. But also because while the video is mildly amusing for the first 10 seconds, after that it is just an annoying distraction.

A solution which disables all such video until manually activated would be good. Alternatively I could give up on the Mozilla feed. Is the old static start up page available as a static file I could download and then set as the start up page? Would mean I would miss out on the broadcast messages Moxilla send over that page but that would be better than putting up with the current page.

Suddenly my home page changed from the standard firefox home page (FOX WRAPPED AROUND THE GLOBE), replaced to a picture of a footballer chasing a soccer ball - and under the google search window in a black square the word goal. Then: Stay connected with the game you love. Activate the Goal.com sidebar for Firefox today and get real-time results from Brazil right in your browser.

I want my firefox home page BACK, as it is what Mozilla Firefox represents.

When you select home, the normal firefox icon flashes on and is replaced with a slightly tilted image with another small character to the left of the foxes head and the words Click Me! If clicked, the same image now has the letters WASD and a key appears in the center of the world where the fox is wrapped around. I have not seen this until updating to the latest verson 33.

The best thing about firefox is that it did not force unwanted shite on to your computer, which for a computer numpty like me takes forever to get shot of. Unfortunately now we have "click me". I don't want to click you; I don't ever play computer games. Why not ask me if I want this utter crap before you force it on me? Just remove it from my computer as I can't do it but you put it there so you can. Thanks very much.

Yesterday the FF browser webpage opened with its usual icon, and "suggestions".

When I opened it earlier TODAY the FF icon itself was not clearly defined (skewed), and there was an icon which stated "click here" (this icon was also skewed).

I thought perhaps that I was being prompted to update FF, so I checked and "yes", found that I needed to update to Version 33. The download was extremely slow, and the FF browser menu is continuing to show the "skewed" FF icon, in addition to the other "skewed icon" which says only "click here" (not saying what I am clicking on). I have never had such a problem before, and am hoping that it is only a temporary glitch.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO FIREFOX??? I have never had these problems previously.

I migrated to Firefox to get an uncluttered homepage and have been very happy until now. However since today, when I open Firefox, the usual Firefox symbol changes to a poorly defined Firefox symbol, with a banner 'Click Me'. If I do this just four letters appear, nothing further. Also a robotic figure appears with an invitation to get the Humble Mozilla bundle and play on. I have tried resetting the homepage but it reverts to the unwanted one on restart.

Is this a Mozilla change or is has the page been hi-jacked.

I have an Aple Mac running OS X 10.6.8 with F-Secure security software.

My firefox icon changes immediately to an icon with a long flaming tail that circles the globe. This is one of 3 or 4 quotes that show up under the icon: "Click here to sign up and post a message to your social network in honor of our 10th anniversary later this month! " I have clicked on the house icon for Mozilla Firefox start page. It worked a couple times, but no more. I have reset firefox twice. I have restarted with add-ons turned off.

A couple of weeks a ago there was another icon that lasted for a couple weeks. I stopped using Firefox at that time except for browsing the web.

I don't see any pictures of the icon on the web.

Thank you for any help, Dianebl5

Within the last few days my regular firefox logo appearing on firefox start page changed on my desktop (windows xp), and two laptops (windows 8 & windows 8.1). The logos all changed around the same time. The normal logo (orange fox holding blue globe) is now an orange fox (holding globe) with a crazy out of control tail that wildly circles around the globe a couple of times. No longer cute & compact but instead takes up a lot of space & really bothers me. Firefox was one of the few browsers I allowed to do automatic updates, but I will modify those settings since I have had so much trouble trying to change the logo back. My update history shows update 32.0.3 was installed 9/24/14 & update 32.0.2 installed 10/30/14, which seems odd to me since 32.0.3 would seem to come after 32.0.2. (There is no cartoon character saying "click me" nor are there any snippets, and I do not wish to block the regular brand logo, just want to get rid of this crazy tail logo).

I appreciate your help on this as this crazy tail logo is driving me crazy! Thank you very much.
