There are times it works fine but also days where I keep getting "blacklisted" messages and can do nothing and it's getting worse. Right now is one of those times. I read the one query which was about using BCC which I never use so got nowhere. Right now neither email works due to blacklisting and it always want me to change passwords which never works either. I can go directly to Comcast and get my work done but they don't have a mean for me to save to folders on my computer. Sometimes I can reboot my computer or go online and do some work and come back out and it works but that's getting less possible it seems.

For the last couple of years, each time I open Thunderbird I get an error message for each email address : "login to sever imap.earthlink.net with username ". . . ." failed".

This error message is erroneous, because all new mail has already been placed in the inbox. So, I just click the X to make the message go away.

It's not a major problem, just a nuisance.

Is there any way to stop the fake error message?

I've asked before, and got no reply. But maybe this Support page is new.

We are a business and have a Thuderbird email account and are having issues sending emails to valid email accounts. It's been going on for about 3 weeks now and we have updated Thunderbird, contacted our email carrier, Nexcess, and nothing seems to be working to fix the issue. Is there a way to fix the problem so we can continue to use Thunderbird emails? Most of our transactions with our customers are through email and are time sensitive. Can you please help!?!?!

There are 3 emails attached to our Nexcess account and all 3 are having the same issues: laurah@bonniemohr.com, kate@bonniemohr.com, bonnie@bonniemohr.com.

Below is an example of the 'mailer-daemon' kick-back we are getting after sending an email. I know the emails are valid because we are receiving their emails but are unable to reply back to them.

Over the past two weeks I have been having issues of only seeing my sent emails in the list, no replies are showing so I'm unable to reply to a specific message. I've checked all of my settings, haven't changed a thing. It just started recently (been using TB for years now. If I just get a message from someone, I can reply. It's if I search for an email thread, the only thing that shows up in the list is sent, not received. HELP please! It's my work email and no one can figure it out.

Hey! I found something strange during testing dynamic links on iOS. There is no preview.page.link screen on Firefox after clicking a dynamic link. For comparison I'm attaching a screen from Chrome. No matter what I do, clicking on Archive will cause TB to freeze up for 5+ minutes. I don't know what else to try. I have 200,000 headers in my Gmail Archive. Is that simply too much to TB?

Here's what I've tried:

  • I have created and recreated my profile. Uninstalled and started from scratch countless times.
  • I have tried new installs of TB on Windows (11), Mac (Monterey) and Linux (Arch/Gnome).
  • I have tried the Stable release and the Beta (102.b8).
  • I have changed sync to not keep (or to keep) messages on device.
  • I have lowered sync to 30 days.
  • On the Windows version, I have turned off Windows Search integration and whitelisted my profile in Windows Defender.

I'm at a loss. I like TB, but I can't fear a 5+ minute freeze by clicking on Archive. Ideas?

For many years, until recently, I have accessed my email account by clicking on the Thunderbird icon at the bottom of my desktop screen. That one click immediately opens… (funda kabanzi)

For many years, until recently, I have accessed my email account by clicking on the Thunderbird icon at the bottom of my desktop screen. That one click immediately opens a screen listing Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Archives, and Trash folders for each of two email addresses… one for me and one for my wife. Something has gone ‘off the tracks’. Clicking the Thunderbird icon now produces the expected screen but the date of the most recent message is 14 May and, except for being able to scan up and down the list of messages, the screen is frozen. An overlaid message asks first for my wife’s password and then for mine. I have just one Thunderbird password, set in June of 2017 and, to the best of my recollection, never used or required since. Entry of that password either as my wife’s or mine results in a “password failed” message. I am then asked to enter a new password, and again get the “password failed” message. There does not seem to be any real mechanism for resetting a password. HELP! If serving two email addresses is part of the problem, that can be dropped. My wife’s email address has been essentially abandoned I am surviving by directly googling my email supplier (TDS, the local phone company) but it’s tedious and cumbersome, requires me to adjust to an unfamiliar format, and seems to lack features to which I have become accustomed, e.g. deleting unprotected emails from my inbox after 60 days and searching for emails from a specific correspondent. I miss my Thunderbird email!

I've not been able to send a tab from my computer to Firefox for iOS for a while now. Also, tabs sent from the iOS device to the computer often don't show up until I manually sync the desktop browser a few times.

Troubleshooting steps I've tried: Update the iOS FF app Sign out of sync on the iOS app, Sign back in Check iOS notifications for FF, they're allowed.

I've noticed that it's never been 100% reliable over the past year or so that I've been using "send tab to:" features, but lately it's just not working whatsoever and it's a bummer.

I'll gladly provide any information that can help narrow down the issue, just let me know.

Hello.

I am running an old version of Windows 10 Pro, build 1511, for compatibility with an old program that will not run on anything newer.

When I install Thunderbird 102, there are 2 initial problems:

- It is stuck to the left side of my display and I cannot resize it. See attached image. - The top is messed up. There is an old-style pale blue top bar with window controls overlayed by a transparent bar with windows controls and tabs that sometimes turns pale grey. See 2nd attached image.

I did previously have Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 installed, but wanted to update for IMAP etc. so the first thing I did was upgrade. After I experienced these issues I completely uninstalled 2.0.0.24, cleaned out the folders, registry etc., rebooted and installed 102 from scratch, but the issues are still there.

How can I resolve these issues?

I have two email accounts prosper@melonyyoung.com and melonyyoung@live.com. The first was originally thru GoDaddy but was since farmed out to Microsoft. The second always Microsoft. Recently I get an email to "update your settings to keep your email client working" which I did. Now I cannot get these accounts to SEND. I can send thru web Office365 email, but all of my emails are at Thunderbird where I want to keep them.

I have checked, rechecked, changed . . changed . . changed . . . all server settings back and forth probably 50+ times and to no avail.  I'm no email newbie and I can follow straight forward directions.  I've even deleted account and added again . . . still same issue. 

My prosper@melonyyoung.com is now working, but the melonyyoung@live.com is not -- keeps trying to login to Microsoft, but will not allow me to go any further, doesn't recognize the email. Please help. This has just started and I've worked steadily to resolve on my own. I did get Microsoft assistant to remote access my computer and THEY could not fix it.

Hi, I've had two different gmail accounts for many years, and both are being accessed via Thunderbird. Both are set up to work with OAuth2, and I have OAuth2 settings in Outgoing Server settings. I've been able to receive and send emails with both accounts until this morning.

Starting this morning, every time I try to send an email from one of the accounts (the one starting with 'ce'), it changes the 'sender' to my other gmail account (the one starting with 'mc'). This is causing any emails sent to email lists where I'm registered with the 'ce' account to reject my emails, because the sender shows up as the 'mc' account.

I've tested the effect by using the gmail web access page (Chrome, Win7) and sending emails to an email address with a different provider, and the sender field does not get changed.

Any ideas on how to cure this problem?

The certificate on our in-house hosted Exchange server was updated and now the Thunderbird users can't send emails. Appleail users and iPhone and Android email clients can send mail. The Thunderbird users can receive mail, but when sending, we get the message "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Unable to establish a secure link with Outgoing server (SMTP) post.samuels.org using STARTTLS since it doesn't advertise that feature. Switch off STARTTLS for that server or contact your service provider." We have tried deleting the certificate and rebooting and then adding the new certificate. We have tried setting the security to SSL/TSL and none, but still couldn't get emails to send. Our IT contractors tried a lot more things.

In the first week of June, I began getting messages that Sending of Password did not succeed and login failed. I am now trying to get back in business. I downloaded the latest Thunderbird, and the window shows my 3 gmail accounts and some inbox messages I had retained in the in box.

I look at my "account settings" and I see NO "authentication method" menu item I see "server settings" "copies & folders" "composition & addressing" "junk settings" "disk space" "end-to-end-encryption" "return receipts" but, alas, no "authentication methods"

I was able to check cookies and javascript and those both look good.

How can I get Thunderbird to work with gmail again? Thnx
