We have used Thunderbird for email for years and about two weeks ago it suddenly would not let us access our emails using Thunderbird. It does not accept our password, won't allow us to change passwords and does not recognize our email addresses. Our emails all end with Frontier.com. We can still for now access our emails on the Frontier/Yahoo or mail/Yahoo.com site with our old passwords but really need to get to our archived emails and address book in Thunderbird.

We have tried changing security settings and authentication method without success. Our server is pop3.Frontier.com. We talked with support at Frontier and they basically said that it was a Thunderbird problem since we could access our email via Yahoo

Help please!

Hello ALL,

I have Thunderbird 91.9.1 on Linux Mint (64-bit) and want to change Server-Timeout setting per about:config . As I enter the value and click the edit button and then close the dialog, the entered setting still does not work - the previous timeout alert occurs after the same time leap as before. If I open about:config dialog again, I see the "my" new value (which does not act). But if I restart Thunderbird and open the config dialog again, my new value is gone and the previous "default" value is there.

How to resolve the issue?

Since recent update, probably to 102.0 (64-bit) I have lost a "Sent Mail" folder

I used to have to folders on my IMAP email address with 2 folders for sent mail, one called "sent" and one called "sent mail", I don't know why but it seemed to work and copies of emails went to either one seemingly at random but mainly into "Sent Mail". since the last, I think, update the "Sent Mail" folder with its emails has disappeared. Can I get it back or has it gone completely?

In the last 10 days I´ve done the download/install 3 times, but today again I´ve got the request for download a new version. I think, something is not ok. What´s the problem ??

I tried uninstalling and installing quicktext and the issue is still there. Any suggestions for a fix? Thank you

Thunderbird update history is outdated.

I keep getting this message: "Thunderbird can't update to the latest version." When I check the help/about it shows I have the latest version (currently 102.0.1). But whe… (funda kabanzi)

I keep getting this message:

"Thunderbird can't update to the latest version."

When I check the help/about it shows I have the latest version (currently 102.0.1).

But when I check the update history it shows that the last update was version 91.9.1 I'm guessing that's why it thinks I need to install the latest version.

Things I've done:

  1. I've used the automatic update setting
  2. I've downloaded the latest version and installed over the old version
  3. I've uninstalled the old version and installed the latest version.

Nothing works.

I still keep getting the popup message... extremely annoying.

Maybe there is something I can edit?

I'm trying to get my Firefox on Mac to use the DNS supplied by my DHCP. If I have Apple's Private Relay turned off, everything works correctly. However, if Apple's Private Relay is turned on, then Firefox will use Apple's Private Relay DNS (Cloudfare in my location). I have confirmed it's a configuration problem in Firefox because Chrome uses the correct DNS, and so does dig in the terminal.

I have tried:

  • Resetting Firefox to default settings
  • Uninstall and reinstall Firefox, including deleting the Firefox folder that contains the Profiles folder and profiles.ini file
  • Clearing cache and Firefox DNS at about:networking#dns
  • In Network Settings, tried 'No Proxy', 'Auto-detect proxy settings for this network', and 'Use system proxy settings'
  • Confirmed Enable DNS over HTTPS is not checked (If I check it, then it does work correctly, but that isn't my goal)

Thunderbird is showing all the encrypted subjects of my emails as "..." until I open them, and also not running message filters on the encrypted subject.

I want thunderbird to just decrypt the subject and show me it immediately. How do I get thunderbird to this?

This may be a dealbreaker for me using thunderbird. I don't see a reason to compromise on security, and being unable to filter my messages or see what they are until opening them makes thunderbird almost unusable.

When I have thunderbird already open, I click an email link in google chrome and it should open a compose message window in thunderbird. Instead, I get the following error message:

"Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. To use Thunderbird, you must first close the existing Thunderbird process, restart your device, or use a different profile."

This behavior hasn't happened before. I'm using Ubuntu 22.04 and Thunderbird 91.9.1.

On some of my emails on my Windows computer, they just show a bunch of gibberish instead of the actual message. I also have Thunderbird 102 installed on my LInux laptop and it works fine. Is this a computer problem or a bug in Thunderbird? I had Thunderbird 91 on before and it worked fine. I already tried things like re-downloading and re-installing Thunderbird and that didn't help. Also, the gibberish it shows is obviously for a different email than the one selected in the list.
