I have download Thunderbird on to my new PC and it will not allow me to change from classic view to Vertical, Classic has a tick against it and the other layouts are greyed out. I have to go into setting in task as in email i have no access to the 3 lines that bring up options.

I often (old age!) will type "eth" when I really mean "the". Spellcheck USED to show "the" as a valid alternate for the misspelled "eth", but it seems to have now gone away. How do I tell spellcheck what additional alternates I wish to include?

Just a quick question. I have Thunderbird on my PC and want to mirror it onto my laptop so I can get mail while away from my computer.

I installed it on my laptop and put in my mail client details and it started to download all the mail. But I realized it wasn't being sorted so I needed my filters etc. So I then looked at the tutorial for migrating mail accounts. It shows to go to the profile folder and to a couple levels up to backup that folder.

The question is, on my PC the folder isn't in roaming it's in C:\Users\Public\mymailaccount.thunderbird

But on my laptop, it's in the usual:\ C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\8f50xn5c.default-release

Should I just copy the folder from Public (PC) to Roaming (Laptop)? why isn't it in the Roaming folder though?

I have lost, or rather forgotten my Main Password for Thunderbird :(

It usually came out automatically from my fingers, but now - after several months away from my laptop and PC only using my Samsung mobile, it is totally out of my head and I have never written it down. Does anyone have a suggestion for a solution so I again can access my mail acounts and adress books and of course continue use of Thunderbird?

How do I login to my Firefox account? How can there be 2885 results to this question? I would like to be able to login to all things Firefox with one ID and Password.

For last 1-2 weeks, "CTRL F5" closes Firefox without warning and Restart does not load previous session.

Am using current v. 76.0.1, 64-bit

Any email I've tried sending today is not going through and I get the message listed below after Thunderbird stops trying to send it. I've retried and even tried writing to different email address. All produce the same message.

Up to this morning I've not had any problems sending emails.

How do I resolve this? Thank you.

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.verizon.net was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again.

I was wondering if it is at all possible to customise a theme for Thunderbird OR use a customised theme for Thunderbird. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to go about either of the above?

Recently installed Window 7 on a new drive. and downloaded Firefox. When I open Firefox I am no longer able to retrieve the auto-hidden taskbar. I am NOT in full screen mode on Firefox. When I move the pointer to the bottom of the screen it does nothing. Firefox is the only program having this issue. I can still run Chrome and IE without this error. Anyone know how to correct so I am able to pull up the auto-hidden taskbar while using Firefox, it is my preferred browser. I did NOT have this problem with the last HDD running the exact same setup and configuration.

I can receive email with Thunderbird perfectly well, but for a few days now I've been unable to reply to messages. When I click on "reply" I'm taken to the screen where I'm able to write my message, but not send it, because the line containing the "send" and "attachment" buttons, has disappeared. I've tried everything I can think of to restore the missing field but nothing has worked. Even the guy at my local computer store has no explanation for it. I would be most grateful to anyone who can offer a solution to this vexing problem.

After upgrading my Microsoft office yesterday, I find that when I try and open an Excel attachment to a Thunderbird email it opens a new Excel spreadsheet (which is empty). No idea what to do to fix. Have tried rebooting everything
