I installed the new Beta and didn't like it because there were no large themes. I uninstalled it and then went to Mozilla via Internet Explorer and downloaded and installed Firefox 3.6. For hours I have tried to install 3.6 themes and I keep getting messages that say I'm running 3.0.

For the past couple of days, I'm not able to access this one website: http://www.eboards4all.com/364378/. In the past, I've been able to access it fine, even on Safari, up until last Wednesday. Then I've been getting the page load error message on Firefox or page not loading message on Safari. I've asked others who use our forum via email about it--they're able to get to it fine. I believe, this all started, when I downgraded Firefox on my OS X, last week, by accident, and had to go to a lower 3. My Imac is 6 years old and I don't have money for the latest versions or the new one to come out last week.

I have keyword.URL set to http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&btnI=I'm%20Feeling%20Lucky&q=

However, when I type 'foo' into my address bar, it tries to take me to http://foo/ instead of executing a google search for foo and taking me to the first hit, which is what I was expecting. I end up seeing a message from my ISP that the site does not exist. Anyone know how to fix this? Google only seems to turn up advice on changing keyword.url, with nothing on forcing firefox to obey keyword.url.

I upgraded to firefox 5 and my google toolbar went. I was sent a solution that worked on one of the machines in my home. Despite trying to use that same link to add the missing toolbar to this machine, firefox keeps telling me that I am using firefox 3. I have just installed firefox 5 twice more, I have been doing this for the last two weeks. Still it insists I'm using the old version. It is most infuriating as a spell check is vital. I'm aware I can right click on a word but that is an American dictionary and I'm English and like to spell correctly. What can resolve this before I uninstall firefox and find an alternative browser?

When I bring up Firefox I get an alert stating that my version of Firefox needs to be updated due to security issues. I run a Imac with a 10.5 version of the OS. In the past when I have tried to update the software the OS requests a administrative password. Passwords have turned into a tracking nightmare (at least it seems so for me). When I try to use (create) a password I am alerted that the password is in use, not available to me and hence I must dig deep and come up with a new one. I have been employed in the computer industry for over 30 + years and I am burned out on password creation. I started keeping a list of my passwords but have lost the record and now find myself unable to implement recommended changes because I cannot provide the requested password. I wondering if it would work if I just deleted the software needing and upgrade and download the latest stuff.

Thank you, Scott Healy

Sometime between 7 and 8 pm EST on 7/7/11, Firefox went from speedy to an absolute standstill. After trying to force-quit, the entire Mac froze. I turned it off and it would not reboot (not clear the gray apple screen with the clockwise light pattern). Left it shut-down for the entire night and it started up again properly this morning, but there are still problems with Firefox. When I run it, it lags very slowly for a maybe a minute, then quits responding. I tried twice to clear caches and this only prompted more non-response.
