I switched to Firefox on all devices for its better performance and better privacy, and of course it not having a gross amount of AI shoved into it. I work very well with this browser without AI, adding more of it will simply ruin the experience completely. Many people use Firefox because they wish to avoid AI from the start, Firefox shines thanks to this and should openly express how it won't fall into the same trap. Don't let this become every other browser.

It is a million times easier to avoid AI on browsers that simply do not use it, or that make it a fully opt-in feature, than to use an AI browser and then need to opt out.

I have been a fan and user of firefox for many years and recommended it to many others, but if it becomes an opt-out AI browser I and many others will be leaving.

This is not only frustrating to the users who need to move, but an unfortunate step backwards for the browser that has garnered a good reputation and dedicated userbase.

How can we stop firefox from adding AI features, or at the very least make them Opt-in?

Just wanted to add my voice and say that I'm seriously disappointed with the change in the company's stance regarding generative AI. I only started using firefox recently, specifically because it doesn't shove AI slop down my throat, and of course that's already changing. The literal only consolation is that it sounds like I'll be able to turn it off in settings, but that isn't good enough. At this rate the enshittification of the entire internet is looking inevitable...

I use the email address [email 2 removed]@interia.pl. The account is configured in Thunderbird on a Lenovo laptop. The laptop is protected by ESET Smart Security antivirus software. As recommended by Eset, I added ESET VPN to my protection. After enabling ESET VPN, the address doesn't configure. It requests a password. I receive messages that the server is disconnecting. Other addresses work. Disabling ESET VPN causes the address to work. This problem doesn't occur on my other Outlook email client. I would appreciate your help in resolving this issue. Sincerely, Paweł Jędrzejewski

Mozilla's business model of not providing actual technical support for Firefox is the reason I will look for other browsers to use. If enough users avoid Firefox, their advertising revenues will dry up, and they will either go out of business, or start caring about their users. This is a horrible, unsustainable business model. business model.

I am so disappointing in the CEO's decision to push AI. Firefox has a very dedicated following BECAUSE it does not push AI and all the other shady things other Browsers push. Everyone I know will stop using Mozilla browsers if they continue on in implementing AI.

I have spent so many hours deleting every sneaky file, disabling every program, having all firewalls block any AI. (I really do need to switch to Linux with the amount of time I spend on this lol...)

How do we contact the higher ups? If large numbers of users emailed/heck even wrote (making a point that we will delete our Mozilla accounts if AI happens) maybe it could help? Or a petition?

As a stakeholder, I am unhappy with Anthony Enzor-DeMeo's ideas to incorporate more AI into the Firefox browser in the future. Most internet browsers are using AI nowadays, and I think Firefox's lack of AI makes it a very appealing browser for users. This is because new AI technology annoys many people. As other browsers continue to incorperate more and more AI, this will increase Firefox's appeal for users who are annoyed with AI.

Overall, I think Firefox will be a much better browser if it does not incorperate AI. It will mean a lot to me if these concerns are taken into account. Thank you for all that you have done.

Sincerely, Eli Buikema
