Yesterday night Thunderbird updated to 140.1.0esr on my Windows PC. The "new message" button no longer works. The button registers that I press it (short-term slight color change of the button), but a new message is not opened. Ctrl+N does not work either. Everything else seems to work in Thunderbird - for example, I can reply to emails.

Hi. Recently, every email I download in Thunderbird comes as a duplicate. I use my address tom@barkas.co.uk, which goes to my domain barkas.co.uk, hosted by Ionos, set to automatically forward to my zen address, then download from my zen address. I can't see anything in my Thunderbird account settings that would result in this I searched for similar problems and ran chkdsk c:/f and cleared the cache in TB, but still happening. Any ideas?

Blocage par le message "saisir un nouveau mot de passe" => qui ne donne aucun résultat.

Le mot de passe ne doit pas être modifié : il fonctionne très bien avec mon fournisseur d'accès Orange.

L'an passé, je pouvais lire mes messages, mais ne pouvais pas envoyer de messages. Maintenant, l'accès est totalement bloqué depuis le 2 mai 2025.

On my laptop when I try to send an email the spell checker box appears. I have tried turning thunderbird off then on again but with the same result. This first happened after I tried a spell check on an email which did not work (did not check the text) and all the time since every time I try to send an email all I get is the spell checker box. To send an email I have had to come out of Thunderbird and go into Yahoo mail to recover the draft and send it that way. I would apreciate any help you can give me. A second issue is that my phone app does not talk to talk windows 10 laptop. This is probabley a setting problem as I can get Inbox but cannot get Drafts (tried to send email by phone but Drafts was empty). Thanks Peter

I'm running Thunderbird 139.0 on Windows 11. I would like it so TB only saves an email to my sent folder when requested. Currently, it always saves every email to the sent folder. I have "Place a copy" disabled in "Copies & Folders" under Account Settings. I had this same problem running TB 141. I had to revert to 139 due to a different problem I was having (discussion for a different post). Any suggestions what else I need to do?

My problem with Thunderbird downloading my Yahoo.com e-mails continue.

I've changed Yahoo.com passwords in the past with no problems. Thunderbird seems to have changed & become more complicated. I can't find the app password Generator for Thunderbird, but I'm able to see my Yahoo Password & the Oauth2 security protocol etc

So how in the heck can I get Thunderbird to work properly? And download my my messages into TB as it has done for years.

Since yesterday (24/07/2025), when I open Thunderbird, I don't see new messages. I can see the number of new messages, but no new headers. I didn't have this problem before. When I access my account through a browser, there are new messages that Thunderbird doesn't see. I have version 140.1.0. I have the message threads enabled - All.

yahoo shows 147 msgs, t/bird says no new

Thunderbird is not download mail to the client inbox. I created the mailsadress today, freshly installed TB too. I set up the outlook.com account in TB and TB is establishing a connection with the mailserver, but not loading the mails. every time it tries to connect I can see TBgoing through the motions in status in the bottom left. There are mails in the accounts inbox,TB is just not downloading them. I also tried sending mails a mail to myself, from within TB, works fine. The mail sent via TB arrived in the acount inbox, visible in the webapp.

already double checked Server Settings:

   IMAP:
       Incoming Server: outlook.office365.com
       Port: 993
       Security: SSL/TLS
       Authentication: OAuth2
   SMTP:
       Outgoing Server: smtp.office365.com
       Port: 587
       Security: STARTTLS
       Authentication: OAuth2

Efter opdatering at Version 140.0.1 | Released July 9, 2025, har jeg ind til nu kun konstateret at fejlen kun findes ved videresend. Mvh Michail

Since the July 2025 update I can receive emails and forward and reply to emails but I can't create a new email. When I click on + New Message nothing happens, the write window doesn't open. Therefore I think my in and out servers are working fine but can't get the send new email window.

The app has been running like a champ, monitoring 4 email accounts. Starting last night, one of my email accounts no longer works. It won't receive incoming email, even after clicking the refresh button, or send email. The other accounts are fine. When using my desktop app, everything works, so it's isolated to the one account on the mobile app. What could have happened to break this? How do i get this working again? Running version 10.1
