I've recently set up Thunderbird on Linux Mint 22.2 and was unable to sign into Yahoo so I tried to sign in with Firefox instead and had the same errors :-

   Something went wrong
We could not sign you in. Try again from a different device.

OR

   We couldn’t sign you in
Change your browser settings to continue. Try the following:
   Turn off ad blockers
   Enable JavaScript
If you still can’t sign in, try a different device.

I can sign in with Chrome without any problems on the same workstation. Firefox version :- 147.0.4 (64-bit)

Only Extension is Privacy Badger, but this is disabled for Yahoo.com

Thunderbird version :- 148.0 (64-bit)

No extensions - as installed from Thunderbird download site

I'm not having any issues signing into any other websites / email accounts (Google, Hotmail).

I notice on the support website :- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-yahoo it says "Starting with version 148, Thunderbird is switching to a more secure authorization protocol PKCE for Yahoo" BUT this isn't offered in the list of Authentication methods, has PKCE been delayed? Currently using OAuth2 for Thunderbird

I Tagged This Post Under The *SETTINGS* Topic, But I Believe That It Could Also Fall Under SeverL Other Topics Or Categories As Well Such As The Following: • ACCESSIBILITY • BROWSE or SEARCH • CONNECTIVITY • PRIVACY & SECURITY & I Must Say.... I Am Absolutely Loving The Firefox BETA Web Browser Thus Far & All The Different Settings & Security Features Available, But There Is Either A BUG, Or A Feature That Is Just Missing (for whatever reason) That I Feel Is A MUST HAVE Added Feature & NEEDS To Be Added, Implemented, & Supported Immediately For Users With Disabilities Such As Myself. I Am A U.S. Army Combat Veteran & Lost My Hands In Combat Due To An I.E.D (roadside bomb) & I Rely On Voice Texting To Be Able To Send Messages, Search, Stay Connected With My Community & Friends Online, & The Ability To Even Use A Smartphone Device With Relative Ease. The Gboard Functionality & Ease Of Use Along With The Instant Translations Of Languages , & Audio Translation Features Make My Phone Use Pretty Much As Good As Someone Who Has BOTH Of Their Hands Still. I Love Everything About The Extensions & Added Safety Features With Firefox & The BETA Is My GO TO Web Browser From Now On & That Will Doubtfully Ever Change. But, The Missing VOICE TEXT Will Definitely Change That Decision If It Is Not Implemented Soon, I NEED That Feature & Without It Then The Web Browsers Added Security Is Completely Useless For Me, Because I Won't Be Able To Work The Device On My Own Anymore. Just Like Now.... I'm Now Relying On My Wife To Type & Send My Messages For Me Due To The Missing Voice Text Capability, Which Is Just Not A Preferred Method Or One %hat Ik Willing To Stick With Permanently. She Doesn't Have Time To Take Care Of My Online Social Matters For Me & I Refuse To Ask Her To Do Such. So With That Being Said, Either Mozilla Firefox Needs To Add A Voice Texting Capability To It's Browser Settings Within The Veta Or Else I Will Be Forced To Discontinue It's Use. I Mean, Am I Just Over-Looking Some Sort Of Extension, Add On, Feature, Setting, Or Am I Right & There Isn't (me Available, Because I Prefer To Use The Gboard Due To It's Outstanding Functionality & I Noticed Anytime I Open A Tab Or Access The Firefox Beta Web Browser & Attempt To Either Search For Something, Or If I'm In A Public Chat Setting While Using The Browser, Then The Microphone 🎙 & Voice Texting Capability & Logo Completely Disappears From My Gboard Keyboard & Is No Longer Accessible For Some Unknown Stupid Reason...??? Can Anyone Please Help Me??? It Would Be Greatly Appreciated.... 💜 Sincerely, Derek B. 💜

When I press a hotkey that involves Ctrl (ie. opening a new Tab via Ctrl+T or closing one via Ctrl+W) Ctrl sometimes remains stuck until I press it again. This will cause issues ie. when I open a new tab and try to type a new address (or search term), and Ctrl causes new hotkeys to be executed.

I've even tried launching firefox with a new profile, and on safe mode (firefox --safe-mode -p <something-else-than-usual>), so no bookmarks, cookies or extensions should be causing this, and it will still happen sometimes. The annoying part is that this seems to be an issue with performance. It happens less-often with the empty profile and safe mode, but it still happens, especially if I had just opened a new page some tab, causing the most minute thing for firefox to process.

The problem is probably not the computer specs either (below my specs). Indeed, from what I can tell, firefox does not even seem to function particularily slow in any case. Just this ctrl being stuck seems to happen.

I have also tried disabling hardware-acceleration (and explicitly enabling it), no effect.

Other interesting facts I've discovered: - This for sure does not happen in other programs and - This does not happen with the Ctrl for all the keybinds within firefox. For example, Ctrl+A (for select all) does not trigger this

From neofetch my setup is OS: Arch Linux x86_64 Host: MS-7C56 1.0 Kernel: 6.12.8-arch1-1 Uptime: 2 hours, 10 mins Packages: 2370 (pacman), 7 (flatpak) Shell: zsh 5.9 Resolution: 3840x2160 DE: labwc:wlroots WM: sway Terminal: alacritty CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (24) @ 4.951GHz GPU: AMD ATI Radeon RX 7900 XT/7900 XTX/7900 GRE/7900M Memory: 5531MiB / 32015MiB

(I have no idea why it's reporting that I'm using Sway, I'm most certainly only using labwc, maybe labwc just reports sway for some programs for compatibility) I've installed firefox from pacman, and my current version is firefox 134.0.1-1

And finally firefox --full-version Mozilla Firefox 134.0.1 20250113214611 20250113214611

I'm not sure what else I could share at this point

I've noticed that whenever I press ⌥⇧Space (option-shift-spacebar) in Firefox Developer Edition, it causes the page to refresh.

This behaviour seems to be consistent across devices.

Is there a way to change/disable this behaviour? It is very inconvenient, as it often causes me to accidentally trigger a page refresh when I type an em dash (`—`) in a text input (opt-shift-dash, and then type a space character after it, I'm very likely to hit opt-shift-space by mistake 🙈).

I'm trying to get Thunderbird working on Windows.

I can't read thin faint Windows-style font rendering. I can set * {font-weight: bolder !important;} in userChrome.css, but since Thunderbird relies on boldness to distinguish unread and read messages, I'd need to find another way to distinguish these.

I also use MacType, but it doesn't seem to affect Thunderbird or Firefox.

As far as I can see, either 1. if the css can distinguish unread and read messages, maybe I could set extrabold and semibold, or I could set different colors. Or 2. I could set a bolder font with good-enough script support.
