I admit I have a minimal machine for FF --- Win 7 pro, 2G ram but up to now it has managed---I just can't have too many large tabs open at one time. What gives with this install prob???

Two local home improvement store websites are denying access to searching or logging on to an account with them. I have cleared cash and removed cookies and that sort of thing but I have yet to change browsers... Should I do that?

When I open FF I get the message "Update available. FF couldn't update automatically. Download the new version - you won't lose saved information or customizations. < download > < dismiss >." When I click "help > about", the message box says I'm on the latest version of FF for my Windows 7 computer, 115.32.0esr (32-bit). I understand I need a new computer and that Mozilla isn't providing more updates to those of us left behind. However, I don't recall ever getting messages telling me to download a version when there wasn't an update that I could actually install on my current hardware and OS. Am I missing something by not doing the download to which reference is being made in the cited recurrent message? Can I expect to get this non-actionable "Update available" message from now on? 148.0 was updated today and somewhere the user profiles was changed; all website addresses for pw management were not able to connect. I have two computers on a home network; 1. a Digital Engine Win7 enterprise with Firefox ESR 115.33 operating OK, 2 is a CUBI mini Windows 10 Enterprise Firefox `48.0. I am in process of taking the windows 7 out of service and was doing some cleanup on home network and I noticed had a connection failure on the 2. machine. I looked at the browsers and discovered that the old firefox data is not on desktop as it once was, and I also noticed that the user profile for the about:profile was wrong. I need to restore the CUBI profile. I was moving some things around and lost continuity somewhere. II just remembered....there is a refresh on the control panel for mozilla. looks like this is going to work just fine. The old windows 7 makes a good traveling encyclopedia!

Ok I did a refresh; the machind took over recovered all the data files, repaired and cleared a path for restart of Firefox. and that failed due to a TLS handshake between Mozilla and Google.failed. I have mozilla, firefox, google and chrome accounts. All google accounts are logged out at this time; mozilla is logged in on the Win 7 machine and the failed refreshed machine needs to do the TLS....

Question: should I log in to google account and repeat a refresh? Seems like a dumb question

I answered my own dumb question.....I signed on to google and I guess Mozilla refress allowed the default browser to get the handshake but I noticed the settings were incomplete on my oped Firefox; once I set my tabs and prefs the web addresses were back to norm....I have a working pair of end of life OS PCs which are still going strong thanks to the Mozilla Open House! After my last Firefox upgrade install I can no longer access both The Home Depot and Lowes websites. This is the message I get when trying to access the Lowes web page search:

When I receive an email that includes a live link it does not work when I click on it. Instead I get a popup error message that says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

I can sometime manage to copy the link address and paste it into a browser but this is not always successful.

i was using facebook until about 4 weeks ago. somehow it changed languages and while i was trying to put it back to english i was locked out.

I had a tab open to eyebuydirect.com when I was ordering from goggles4U. I was getting my prescription from eyebuydirect.com.

Please tell me how to get whatever is blocking this website off my computer.

I am running windows 7pro.

I downloaded TB Supernova ver. 115.18.0 (32 bit) to my wife's old Gateway computer. (Win 7 Ultimate Svc Pk 1 32bit). However, after manually configuring the server settings, I get the above error message. Additional information: This old Gateway had Thunderbird on it at one time - don't know the old version. It worked, then quit after an upgrade, and I haven't been able to get it to work since. The ISP provider still has our original password, and I can log into their email server and see 81K worth of emails. I have a Toshiba laptop, also Win 7 64bit, and TB SuperNova is installed and working on it. I used the server settings from my Toshiba to manually configure TB on the Gateway... Any ideas as to what to try next? Peter

Thunderbird now consistently fails on attempting to login to BT email. It worked fine one day and not the next. It now fails every time. It now just says "Host contacted - sending login information", then comes up with an error "Sending of password did not succeed". Nothing has been changed - no settings, nothing. I had not been anywhere near the setting but have now examined them and they are indeed exactly as they were and, having checked, are exactly as they are supposed to be. The saved username and password are as they should be and I am able to login to BT email on a browser using those credentials and send and receive email with no problems. It therefore appears that there is no issue at BT and the account has not been blocked due to too many login attempts. I have cleared cache, deleted and re-installed Thunderbird but it makes no difference. Are there any ideas as to how to fix this?
