Hi!

I am getting messages that I am blocking ads for many of my internet requests. I had never received these before but all of a sudden I started to get them. I have tried a number of things but nothing works.

I am running Windows 11 and do not have any Ad blockers.

I upgraded to Windows 11 on a new machine a few days ago. Had to re-install all my software from scratch.

I just discovered I can’t create subfolders. Not sure long the problem has existed (I don’t create subfolders very often).

I tried creating a subfolder on several different top level folders, on multiple accounts (Hotmail & Gmail). The "name new folder" dialog never appeared. No error message appeared, either.

Windows Task Manager shows 2% CPU usage, and 21% memory in use.

Firefox

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

Firefox keeps crashing directly at start within seconds. I deleted Firefox and then reinstalled it again with no difference. I took away all my extensions, plugins and so forth. Firefox is updated to the latest version. Reloaded pages and I have minimal programs running in the background. I did malware and virus scans. I still cannot seem to find what the culprit is.

Thanks in advance Louie J

How do I get back into Windows? I am stuck on a page asking for a "challenge question" and I don't know what that is or how to get unstuck and back Windows. It asks to fill in something with the example 'A1b2C3' . This is an issue with Windows 11. I am typing now on my Windows 10 laptop. I tried doing a safe boot up but cannot get rid of the 'challenge phrase' screen to do anything else at all except shut down. Every time, it boots up to show the same. It would not accept my fingerprint, password or PIN prior to the lock down. Too many invalid attempts at signing in is the message on the screen.

Hey, I just recently started using Firefox, and I've started to notice some odd behavior. When watching videos and reels on Facebook (Desktop version), videos will flip-flop between normal and really bright and washed-out. I'm currently on Firefox 130.0 on Windows 11, and I always have HDR on. The imagery is silly, but these two screenshots (using win-shift-s) are from the same video only seconds apart, and this happens on almost all of them. Not yet tested to see if it also happens on Youtube or Twitter videos.

I frequently use the following site: https://qglobal.pearsonassessments.com/qg/ with my Firefox browser. Last night it would not complete the login process. I tried several different accounts, typed in the information rather than using the auto-fill and also cleared the cache. Multiple attempts. No luck. Then I tried using the browser, Edge, and it completed the login. There was a new update to Firefox in the last couple days. Could that be the problem? I contacted the tech support at the Pearson Assessments and they tried it from their computer, on Firefox, and it worked. But their Firefox was not the most updated version.

Thank you.

I have version 130.0.1. I keep getting popups prompting me to update. I'm skeptical at popups so I go to check what is the latest version at Mozilla.com. They don't display that; they only want to automate an update. I won't do that. I want to see what is being updated and to what version before I download and execute some unknown automated process. Mozilla should know better than try to cloak an update on us. We are the ones that use Mozilla because of all the "automated" trouble and hijacks out there.

With the last couple of updates to Firefox, I can't successfully log in to FB. I get the error msg "Your Request Couldn't be Processed" three times and then I can access FB, but I am then unable to post any images and am forced to leave FB since it is frozen. The other problem I am having is the open tab with Fox news gives me a crash report if I leave it open without viewing it. Whe I try to use Edge, Chrome, or Brave there is no problems for the same sites.

I have made sure I have the latest version of FF, cleared cache and closed all extensions.

Since a few weeks ago, I have had problems with Firefox "hanging" when trying to access Google sites; this includes typing something into the search window on the address bar. Sometimes, changing the URL from "google.com" to "google.co.uk" or vice versa causes the site to load, but not always, and with Google maps, sometimes the site partially loads - e.g. satellite view and some icons missing. I have never seen this on Firefox with non-Google sites, nor on Chrome/Edge with Google sites. I have tried the other suggestions here, such as disabling anti-virus, clearing proxy (not that I use one anyway) etc, and clearing the DNS and HTTP caches, to no avail. I have no relevant extensions. What is particularly strange is that when a URL is not loading, if I open Chrome and type in that same URL, it will load immediately there and also immediately in Firefox (sometimes needing a refresh). I have seen other reports online of similar issues in recent weeks from other users, which makes me feel that it may be related to a recent Firefox update.

Hello,

I recently tested the OCSP-status feature aka "security.OCSP.require".

I have a PKI setup, where two different OCSP-Responders exist in different geo-locations to provide high availability.

The TLS-certificate I used for testing, had two entries under the AIA extension, one for each responder. I then went ahead and shut down the first responder in that list.

But instead of asking the second responder for a certificate status, Firefox threw an error page and refused to connect to the website. Furthermore, even with the "ocsp_cache" feature disabled, FF did not retry to connect to the first OCSP-Responder even after it was reachable again. I saw no tcp-traffic whatsoever when I reloaded the web-page. I had to restart the whole browser for it to work again.

Now my question is this:

- Is the OCSP Feature broken in FF 128.2ESR or am I using it incorrectly?

Thank you for your advice!

Regards FSeifer

I am working on upgrading our organization from ESR version 115 to 128. While testing, I am experiencing an issue where a new profile is being created and defaulted to on first run after the upgrade. This removes all the bookmarks, themes, extensions, etc. For a technical person like myself, I can easily revert this by going to about:profiles and setting my previous profile back as the default and then restarting Firefox. The issue lies in that this process is not something we can feasibly do for over 1000 people if/when they see this problem. I have been trying to wrap the install with a few commands to back up the previous profiles.ini and put it back after upgrade but this isn't working out too well.

Is there a way to automate keeping whatever profile was being used as the default intact without generating a new one and having it take over?

One thing to note is that we are following CIS guidelines as closely as possible, thus using synced profiles is not an option.
