I'm getting this weird gibberish , especially when I post to Democratic underground, I looks like this

In 1978, my parents went to Poland, the first foreign trip in each of their lives. When they returned to our home in Moscow, my mother couldn’t stop talking about what they’d seen — not a place but a movie, Bob Fosse’s “Cabaret.” One scene in particular stayed with her. Three friends are returning from a weekend trip. Sleep-deprived, hung over and preoccupied with their sexual and romantic entanglements, they pull over at a roadside cafe. There, a teenager wearing a Hitler Youth uniform starts singing. He is both earnest and, in his brown pants tucked into white knee-high socks, puerile. But after a minute, other young people in uniform join in, and soon all but one customer are standing and singing. The protagonists duck out. They have been pushing Nazism out of their minds, but at this moment they realize that they are in the minority, that life as they’ve been living it is over. The song everyone around them is singing is “Tomorrow Belongs to Me.”

How do I fix it?

I want my Firefox to be in English, but with either ISO-date and time or European date and time. Locale en_DK, preferably.

Is that possible? I'm on MacOS. Chrome doesn't seem to have a problem honouring the system settings.

Setting intl.regional_prefs.use_os_locales doesn't change anything.

Even if a picture is worth 1000's of words. I must provide some info about my installation. I am monitoring this multi language spellcheck in the context menu since its inception, since I proposed it. The three languages displayed are installed, and so is the French language pack.

I use the French language generic .tar file and it is installed in /opt.

Prior to FF 135, this setting never functioned properly. It required several attempts to register the additional selection of English. Something is blocking it and cannot be seen. But, when I close FF and restart, the selection appears.

Dear Assistant,

Could you please forward my request to the developers to add Arabic to the list of languages?

When I select a word to translate, I see English. When I go to the settings to change it, -about:preferences#general - I couldn't find Arabic in the list. This tool is very helpful and saves me time compared to using Google Translate website. I haven't found any add-on that does this job.

Thank you for considering my request.

Sincerely yours,

Recently, as I was writing a comment, spellcheck flagged "sexualized" and "unrelatable" as being spelled incorrectly. And when I looked at the list of words it was suggesting, and didn't see these words, I had to google them just to make sure these were official dictionary words, and not regarded as slang or something (like the word appearify, coined, apparently, by the homestuck creator). These aren't "bad" words either. I mean, I assumed that maybe "sexualized" wasn't included for some sort of censorship reason, but "unrelatable" ? How old is the dictionary Firefox is running its spellcheck through?

The font/text sizes in the main window are fine and easily adjustable. But the text in Bookmarks and the top parts of Firefox pages (address bar, tabs, quick links row) is so small it's difficult to read. I've searched for a way to enlarge it, but can't find one.

I've been trying to adjust the text size on my new PC, but it seems when I get it right on the desktop screen, it's either too small or too large on something else. If it makes a difference, I'm using Windows 11 on a Dell 8960 desktop PC.

Can you please tell me how to make the top and sidebar text in Firefox as large as that in the website window? Thank you.

Hello :)

I have a BIG problem with auto translation of websites :(

most of it are presented to me in French (would be fine as I'm French) but a lot of it are very poorly traduced :( it hurts my eyes when I try to read the contents.

example : a German website : ilinuxgeek.com, when shown to me in french it's a real pain in the *** to read it, as not-to-be-translated words ARE translated (FreeNAS is shown as Frein! aqnd so on... pouah!), I would like to have it translated to english instead, as these one will be way better than french translate.

I've looked at the firefox preferences and just can't configure the translate website option ! the pref panel opens but I can't set any options in it... why ?

how to correct this ? I want all german language website presented to me in english when it have no inbuilt option as ilinuxgeek.com. AND english websites NOT translated to french by default !

thanks by advance for the answer :)

Cheers, Jeff
