Using Thunderbird 140.3.0esr flatpak

Following the [chat faq], I tried to log in with my matrix mozilla.org account following the page instructions. For my @username:mozilla.org account added username in the Username field, mozilla.org in the Server field, then followed the rest of the steps (not entering the password because I'm using mozilla's SSO account, etc).

After finishing the set up wizard, it pops up the mozilla.org page (image below) saying there is an error and there is no further progress is possible. Any suggestions are welcome

Hello there, i use CachyOS and use Thunderbird for my mails, but recently realized that i can login into matrix chat too so i decided to use it because its pretty simple, but when i want to verify my session, i got a problems and even passcode phrase wont help

On phone its continiously "loading" secure check but in fact trying 3 times and cancel verification cause of failture, what i should do with it?

Can you tell me if it is possible to set up communication in Thunderbird “Chat” using a local network, for example, in an office?

Could you please give me some brief instructions on how to do this?

I have successfully signed into a Matrix chat and there was a list of messages I could read. But in most later Thunderbird sessions, the Window stays emtpy although in the bottom right corner of the screen popup windows with Matrix messages do appear. In the left pane the rooms I have entered should be displayed, but they are not. When I re-enter a room by hitting the button and re-typing the room's name, the list of joined chats, consisting of this one, appears in the left pane for the fraction of a second. I don't see any item in the config options for chat where I could have screwed something up.

Hi, I have thunderbird connected to a number of client corporate Office 365 systems (5 in total). The teams option works fine for 4 of them and is quite usable for chat but one of them responds that the browser is an unsupported version. I use Ubuntu 24.04 and have thunderbird and firefox installed from deb files (and the repos) so both are the current/release versions and overall everything works well so I don't believe there is a systemic issue. All connections to the clients' exchange systems are through the owl plugin. With the one client, as soon as you try to connect to their teams site, the 'Hmmm, your browser isn't supported' page comes up. As I manage that client's office platform, I know I've not made any changes to the back-end settings nor have I done so or had to do so on any of my other clients platforms so I don't think there is anything unusual about the Office 365 side (but am willing to be proved wrong). If I try logging in to the problematic teams site using firefox it works perfectly so I don't believe it is firefox being an issue. I have deleted and re-added the account. Has anyone else seen this and got it sorted, and if so how please? Many thanks, Scott...

I am trying to use the chat feature in Thnderbird and following the wizard. I was told I can open an account with Matrix.org. But I am not sure how to do this? matrix doesn't seem to be helping. I have an invite to join an ubuntu chat But I don't have a chat account?

do I get a matrix account using my mozilla account?

When I open Thunderbird on my Mac Sequoia 15.3.1. I see the text on the desk "Conversation will be displayed here. Use the contact list in the left panel to start a conversation". I never used conversation panel and I use Thunderbird since many years just for my e-mails. How can I close the conversation panel and get access to my e-mail. It seams that even the conversation desk is not working . Thnak you for your help.

Whilst setting up Thunderbird I have had trouble setting up XMPP. My XMPP account works fine with BeagleIM but I am having trouble getting used to how Thunderbird does things. Anyway, I now have more than one XMPP account but cannot delete the unwanted ones. How can I delete duff XMPP accounts?

Hello. I am trying to use Thunderbird to access my Matrix chat rooms. This page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-matrix-chat-faq says to Add a Chat Account in Account Actions and select Matrix in the Chat Account Wizard. However Matrix doesn't appear in the list of chat networks in the Wizard dialogue. What can I do?

I am using version 68.12.1 of Thunderbird.
